Act III. The DossierLikes
: William likes Burden City the most - the good things he can see at least, not the bad things that seems to be happening all the damn time.. He was born and raised there, and so he came to look, to find, to investigate and to see the few, few good things the city seems to have. And he honestly doesn't mind that, seeing that he loves to be a nosy bastard. He loves to question others, nitpick and second guess all those around him. He enjoys getting into verbal and logical fights over anything that may spark something deep in him. Especially if it'll concern Burden City somehow.
He likes activity and bustling and hustling about. Movements, sounds, smells, actions or any other signs of life, William likes it. The noise, the rush, the crowds of people - he loves them all. William enjoys being in the urban jungle, taking a long, meaningless walk in the masses of people and just seeing life and activity out there in general. He rather be with the people than be by himself no matter what and just simply be there and nothing else. He just likes enjoying the rush of adrenaline and the shivery feelings in him from being so close yet so far from all these souls.
He also can appreciate a good drink or smoke every once and a while after a hard day's work in the radio station, though he can also go without them and just read a good book or watch some cheap horror flick to wind down from the day's events. William loves a good, long and nasty roll in the old hay sack, especially if its' with some stranger he's certain he'll never see again after said roll. While he isn't too keen for an intimate relationship at the moment, he does like having close and personal friendships like the one he has with Margaret Asher. He likes meaningful, deep conversation that can last for hours or a witty banter between others. Or just close contact with someone you can trust.
Most of all, he adores his job since it gives him freedom of speech and being able to say what he damn pleases ( a few more likes of his, to no one's surprise). He enjoys talking to the people of his him, letting his voice be heard and people being able to say what they want to say. He likes the contemplating silence that comes in his breaks, the hard research and investigation he needs to do for the daily Criminal Update News and interviews he does. He likes trying to get people to see more and open their eyes, trying to raise awareness in others and to not depend on the police force if possible.Dislikes
: Anyone attempting to censor, control or all but stop him and his words on the radio or any form of media is what he despises the most, though the police force of Burden City runs in quite close. He hates the blatant corruption and curelty that seems to fester and grow among the 'finest people' in his city. He also hates the outright disrespect and borderline abuse towards the citizens. He seems to particularly dislike Detective Hastings the most among the police force, for reasons he won't divulge to others he does not know well.
He also dislikes people trying to block or stop him during his investigations or interviews or radio castings for any reason that's selfish or for profit. No exceptions. He dislikes people that are bribing or tempting him to hide the truth or anything he feels like others should know about. Especially if they are trying to cover their own asses, because he hates cowardliness and people not admitting to their faults. William also dislikes being alone by himself when he wants to talk or listen to someone, or if someone is there but don't want to talk or pay attention to him.
William hates mindless activities or tasks, thinking nothing but wasting time in an unproductive manner. Anyone that hurts his close friends or relationships is immediately here on his dislikes. People who disrespect or harass others just of feel more powerful or use their tragic backstory, a 'sob story' as he calls it, to justify their violent or cruel actions too.Attitude
: William is a cynic that likes to talk a lot if given the chance. And, unfortunately for many people (read: all of the people that work for entire police force of Burden City
), he is also a well-versed, intelligent cynic that likes to talk a lot via radio. He has a dry wit mixed with deadly sarcasm, which earned him the nickname 'DJ S
tewart N. Ark
'. He's passionate in what he believes in but can also be reserved and polite.
He is loyal and kind to those he knows well, but the key word here is 'well'. Since 'well' here means 'a long time that is often plighted with suspicion and frustration for both parties'. He is a paranoid man that believes the way you should live life is to not believe in anything and question everything. Naturally, he sees the bad in everything and everyone no matter what they do or say, though he struggles to also see good in them because life would sure stink if he was simply negative.
Though he tries to be optimistic with the everyday people, he is distrustful of authority and those with power over him. He doesn't mean to, it's just in his nature now to look at the powerful and expect the worst. William can also relax himself if he wants to. Even then, though, he is forever thinking, pondering and making remarks and even attempts to 'fix' this or that. As in he writes between the margins of a book or calls up the radio station he's listening in attempts of correction. This is because he loves to observe and try to do something, but it comes off as annoying instead to many.Habit/Twitch

: William was born in Burden City in the year 1973 to a middle class family that was just trying to get by here in the area. He was raised in a typical childhood, two parents that worked but loved him and two older siblings that teased but cared for his well being, with no trauma or heartache that personally happened to him. While he did see many of those around him; like his neighbors and friends and strangers, get hurt or betrayed by the police or Criminals, it never happened to him.
When he was 18-years-old in the year 1991, when he was finally the age to leave, William instead stayed there to get his college education and a job instead. Unlike his brother and sister, who both left the moment they could. He felt attached to Burden City, no matter how tough or horrible it became and how hopeless it looked for it. He can't explain himself why even today, but he just does. He also had to take care of his father after his mother finally died after a long and painful battle with leukemia.
He got his diploma from college when he was 24-years-old, six years after making his choice to stay. While there in college, he watched politics more through either radio or TV, observed the police more and generally just looked at the powerful and rich with new eyes now. And he didn't like what he saw. He saw corruption, pain and misery being peddled out like candy and the actual good people either swayed to their side or forced to leave. It made him a bit bitter, to say the least. When he got his diploma on that stage in 1997, he vowed to somehow help Burden City.
It was in the form of the small radio station, BC 92.32
. Getting a job there a year later, he managed to convince the others to have the Criminal Update News segment. Where he'll announce rumors, facts and stories about the crimes here in Burden City in an attempt to get others to do something. It became a cult hit with devoted listeners and it has gotten William in hot water more than once with the police force. He was arrested three times for giving out information that wasn't 'properly' allowed to be sent out yet and was threatened more than once. He made a bit of a stir in 2006 when he tried to call out Investigator Angus Fraser
for destroying evidence in a rape case the involved his friend, Margaret Asher
. He currently is still in Burden City and part of the station, still attempting his crusade with corruption with his words. Whether they
like it or not.Possible Crimes for Victims
