Can our post use HTML tags?
« on: July 02, 2010, 10:23:47 AM »
We can insert table in our post, and the command showed when doing that is:

I am wondering if the above command can support html table tag options / parameters as follows:
<table font face="sans serif" size="12" cellspacing="20" cellpadding="0" width="75">
<tr>
<td align="justify" valign="top" bgcolor="red">
some text here
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Please advise. Thank you.

Who is "we"?

Anyway, yes, the tags you placed there replace the HTML tags. HTML doesn't parse on these forums.

Hello world

it does not work. Any list of umm.. commands?

No, they aren't used exactly in the fashion of html; they are more simplistic. So you need a tag for table. A separate one for font face... another one for alignment.

Code: [Select]
[

hello world

[bgcolor="red"]
Thank you for the explanation.

Hmm... bgcolor is not supported.

I see. What are supported? Is there a list of supported tags to be read?

Actually, technically, HTML CAN be parsed by forums. You just gotta enable it in the backend.

It's probably not going to ever be enabled for this forum, though.

I stated that for it to work, it'd need to be enabled in the backend. I didn't say that it's enabled and working. ;x

SMF has the option. But most don't enable it due to the fact that HTML can be abused. Then again... BBC codes can be abused, as well, but it's less common, I think.

Some tags work, others don't. Haven't really figured out which though.
