"Excuse me." Rose said, trying to get the girl behind the counter's attention. A strand of her short dark hair blew into her face as the door opened, letting in a warm burst of air. A bit annoyed with it, she pushed it out of her tan face, her almond shaped golden eyes almost glowing.
She didn't like her eyes. They drew too much attention and with her skin being so dark year round, people always mistook her for an Indian or someone from Africa somewhere. Truth was, he home was in England. She had lived there her entire life and had the thick accent to prove it.
Now she was here. She had had to get away from home, though there wasn't much of it left. She couldn't stand to see her life fall apart around her so she decided to transfer here. But now she was more or less alone, no friends, and even when she tried to make friends, most shied away from her because of her eye color. She sighed, as this all ran through her head.
