Alien at a Human convention

I got this idea from a 4chan thread, believe it or not.

Back in 1975, Mankind discovered space travel. The scientists of the world discovered a way to bend distance enough to allow passage between the stars. In 1980, Humanity's furtive efforts to colonize distant worlds was discovered by the Galactic Alliance, a coalition of many alien species and trade organizations. They received Mankind coolly, distrustful of the intentions of the fledgling race. In an effort to improve relations, the United Nations gave the Alliance unlimited access to Humanity's cultural records, including books, movies and artwork. The Alliance accepted this gift grudgingly, and in return allowed the human race to trade at a few space stations.

30 years later a human ship has engine trouble and is forced to make an emergency landing. The ship sets down on a barely inhabited planet next to... a convention center? A convention center full of aliens dressed up like humans, screening human T.V shows, and discussing the nuances of human culture with barely any frame of reference what so ever. Then they see the newly arrived human...
