Name That Song
« on: June 26, 2006, 07:09:45 PM »
Much like Nothing's movie quote, name the song from the lyric's quote. If you get it right, you're the next quote.

First up:

Wake me up from the nothing I've become.

Evanescence - Bring me to life

"I'm not in love, but I'm gonna fuck you 'til somebody better comes along"

Cold are the bones of thy soldiers.
Longing for home, their little paradise.
I don't feel remdeption on their side

(it'll be hard if you never heard this album before, or if you don't know who that band is :P)

On the lake geneva shoreline

Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple, indeed classic stuff :)

I met a girl who hated the world - she used her body to sell her soul
Everytime they'd break her and pay - tear out her heart, and leave her in pain
I never found out how she survived all of the sadness she kept inside
I never found out how she could lie with a smile on her face,
and the scratches she'd hide

Elvi... alright for you I've got another one, this one should be a snap ;)

End of passion play, crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear
Leading on your death's construction

I'm quite sunk here, though I think the lead singer *might* be from Evanescence.

Jup, from my previous text the guy who dated a hot goth chick did indeed date Amy Lee ;)

The song was Seether - Love Her ;)

Metallica- Master of Puppets.
We were listening to it on the way to the live roleplay event last weekend.

Here's an easy one......so the lyrics are from somehwere in the middle....

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

GnR - November Rain

Ahh well here's another easy one:

Broken bottles under childrens feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I wont heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall

How about this one:

I got a crush
Coffee shop clerk
But she won't look up at me
Don't want to be known as the freak who just comes around to catch her eye.

Every song has stumped me, LOL. That's what happens to people who know one line from each and every song that they know.

This one might be a bit difficult - American group, a little obscure (though not extremely so), and one of the less well known songs.

Hmm, scratch that one (it was They Might Be Giants - Sleeping in the Flowers) . . . how about:

"If life is jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten and that's to laugh and dance and sing"

(Nice and international, British, even - though recorded in Tunisia *hint hint*)

Always look on the bright side of life...
De dum de dum de dum

Monty Python, sung by Eric Idle with his 'w's for 'r's and in the '79 live version we have he actually sings  "If life is Johny Rotten"
