IRC game, this will go through a number of updates.

First, the town where the game will start.

Oaksbridge

This small town sits on the border between Lorzeri and Canterwall, in the Immortal Principality of Ustalav.  Founded by Emanuel Viorel, an adventurer and explorer some 90 years past, Oaksbridge is a small and relatively quiet town.  The town does a fair business in lumber, primarily in hardwoods and cabinetry, but its true source of income is their dark beer.  There are a great number of farms producing both hops and barley for the several brewers in town, and it is largely thanks to Emanuel that they are prosperous as a result.  Emanuel was a member of the Pathfinder Society, and was an excellent herbalist and woodsman, with a great love of beer.  Because of this he gathered through his life a great deal of knowledge on brewing and the plants that went into it, and he brought his expertise with him when he founded Oaksbridge.  Though he has no known descendents, the largest brewery in town is still known as Viorel's Brewery, and has a reputation for turning out the best beer in town.  Except for periodic attempted raids by bandits, Oaksbridge is relatively serene and quiet.

The quiet of Oaksbridge was upset when both Lorzeri and Canterwall threw off the aristocratic rule in 4670, and both attempted to claim Oaksbridge as their territory.  It had always been uncertain which lands belonged to which county, and the small noble family of Ilinca had always striven to do well by their people.  With soaring debates over it, and saber-rattling from both sides, Lord Artivan Ilinca attempted to step down, only to have the townsfolk refuse to acknowledge it.  It took some time, and many compromises, but Lord Artivan ended up as the mayor of Oaksbridge, which was adopted by Canterwall permanently.  It has been speculated that the council of Canterwall expected the people of Oaksbridge to lose their loyalty to their former lord, but such has not been the case.  His daughter has since taken the position of mayor, and the beautiful young woman is well loved by the citizens of Oaksbridge, and she is often called Lady Vivian by residents.
