Midnight Song.
« on: January 11, 2010, 08:08:01 PM »
One minute to midnight
Baby, hold me tight
One minute to a brand new day
And there are some words I want to say

Tell me it is't truth
Tell me I didn't lose you
Tell me you still want me to
Tell me you still need me to

Words shouldn't mean that much
"I love you", "I want you", and such
Just look into my eyes
And your heart will say you are mine

Love is the reason
Why we let go of our reason
There is no passion to be
if there is no you with me

Just turned midnight
I am not leaving without a fight
Between now and yesterday
I wish you were not going away

If you want something
Then write your dreams with your love
Put more effort into it
Then maybe your heart will decide to fit

Our souls fly everywhere
Your hearts go anywhere
But aside of this dreamy pace
We are not together in the same place

It was supposed to be easy
It was supposed to be fun
But nobody said it was easy
And as this day, our love is now gone.

Tell me it was once truth
That I could be with you
Tell me you will always need me to
in every way, have me with you

Come back, stay with me
Hold me tight, just be true
I want you, can't you see?
In the old cliche, I love you

One minute past midnight
A new day is on the sight
I had once a good dream
Where things were like they seem

I will find you one day
We will love, we will laugh, we will play
And this dream will never go away
Because we are on the lights of a brand new day.

Original conception by me.
This poem was written exactly at midnight.

I love this one Chevalier! I don't know if it is the way I understood your words, but the 'twist' in tone at the end was beautiful! To go from yearning, despair  and slight desperation to hope and determination. Very skillful, reminded me of one of Shakespeare's sonnets and his little 'twists of tones'. You are very gifted and a true romantic. Thank you for sharing.
