Alright then we'll play it out like that, also were would the game be placed the Outer Rim or more to Coruscant?

Also will there be different threads for all the planets?

ok by putting our heads together a friend of mine and myself determined that its probably 54 years after the original sith wars involving Exar Kun.  so we'd be playing 59 years after Exar Kun got his butt kicked.

I've always liked playing across the whole galaxy, the rim has interesting stuff but so to does the core.

Okay, I have played d20 SW before, and used to own several PHB's for the game.

However, I have, in the past, played a Sith Wars era character, and would be interested in playing something like it again.

There is a Jedi Prestige Class called 'Jedi Shadow', which basically functions as the Jedi Council's "Secret Police". They monitor the Jedi Order both within and without, seeking out corruption, the Dark Side, and the Sith in particular. Otherwise, they function much like Jedi Guardians, with a few exceptions. They are more like Rogues than fighters, or better yet, Shinobi, in that they are stealthy and specialize in unarmed combat and "dirty tricks".

If I can find it, I could throw out the Prestige Class' information for your perusal. ^^

Ummm... I was actually talking to somebody (you know who you are! :P ) about a hot-and-heavy Star Wars game during the week! I am very, very much into it. I want to violate some Twi'lek babes! I want to take them from behind as I use their lekku as reins! I want to see a game that features wookie on wookie! Wookie on wampa! Wookie on Watto!* Ahghghghghg... *thud* *puddle of drool*

Seriously, I'd be up for playing, although I definitely don't have enough time to GM right now. And I see people talking about "Which era?"; for better or for worse, though, I don't really know much Expanded Universe, so I might be a fifth wheel sometimes. Basically, I know the movies. Still... I'm up for it. Any place in the Galaxy for a guy like me?

Spel

* I don't want to actually be a wookie or a wampa or Watto. I just want them getting busy.

Aha! I would be intrested to come in and join in :). I have mind for neutral grounded char, but wich is one bad guy mercenary generally. Here comes my ideas;

1) What Character type are you interested in playing?
= Ex-Jedi Guardian student turned into soldier who had taked levels in Dark Marauder (preferably not leaved the order, rather is sole survivor from a slaughter wich happened in childhood)
2) What kind of a game are you looking for? To elaborate do you want a mix of political intregue and combat? More of 1 then the other? or something different entirely?
= Good mix of both, but prefer at least alot action when it happens ;).
3) what section do you think this should go in and why?
= Well, it depends how much sexualtiy you want impose on the game? I would say Light Sexual, but wookie in rage raping twi'leks should go heavy sexual :P.

NOTE: Before I ask about time lines and such let me warn all of you that I am not a huge star wars fan. I dont really care what happened when and as far as history goes I only know what the movies (minus the newest one) and Kotor 1 have told me.

4) What time line would you like to play in?
= Time after Darth Vader got his armor (my char being the sole survivor form corsucant tmeple slaughter and then losted and grim he wanders galaxy as odd mercenary who had losted into dark side).

1) What Character type are you interested in playing? A Jedi or the Jedi Shadow(what Aiko was talking about, very apealing) A leader of a group of other shadows would be pretty cool to.
2) What kind of a game are you looking for? I would like combat, but politics is always interesting
3) what section do you think this should go in and why? Light, alot of people don't give the Sith enough credit. Their not "evil" per se, they just have conflicting morals with Jedi. I don't think a Sith would go around raping people, their just like selfish Jedi, they do have codes of honor. But if your gonna have crazy Wookies than heavy.
4) What time line would you like to play in? Any one

Sith aren't evil, they're misunderstood.   ;D

1) What type of character are you interested in playing?  Sith Weaponsmaster baby!
2) What type of game are you looking for?   Where I can kick wussy jedi butt and make them my toys slaves.
3) What section should it go into and why?  Ummm...Light.  Because?
4) What timeline would you like to play in?  Old Republic anywhere.

I agree about comment of the Sith :). They are missunderstood. Not all Sith are outrigth evil, they do evil things because so many Sith Lords are ambittious and do not care about means gain power. They are more self focused and more emotion driven. Sadly, this also includes to jump and accept darker emotions, and rage is most easiest to give in.

1) What Character type are you interested in playing? Young Jedi in training,or an adventurer, similar in concept to Han Solo, but not a carbon copy.  Someone who isn't evil, but isn't always good either.  Preferably a second in command vs a Commander (Leader).
2) What kind of a game are you looking for? To elaborate do you want a mix of political intregue and combat? More of 1 then the other? or something different entirely? Mix, something that fosters good role-play.
3) what section do you think this should go in and why?  Heavy, so as to make allowances for a greater number of character concepts and interactions.  Individual interactions can vary between hot and heavy, gore, and light actions.

NOTE: Before I ask about time lines and such let me warn all of you that I am not a huge star wars fan. I dont really care what happened when and as far as history goes I only know what the movies (minus the newest one) and Kotor 1 have told me.

4) What time line would you like to play in?  I know very little of the SW universe, aside from the movies and the Knights of the Old Republic game (which I haven't played for about a year).

All in all, I would prefer to play a lighter (sexually) character to another female (a Chewbacca to someone's Han Solo).

1) What Character type are you interested in playing? A young Jedi Shadow, who hunts the Dark Side within the Jedi Order, while skirting the fine line between Light and Dark.
2) What kind of a game are you looking for? To elaborate do you want a mix of political intregue and combat? More of 1 then the other? or something different entirely? All of the above. Puzzles with words as spewed by Sith and politicians, and combat of course is a major part of Star Wars.
3) what section do you think this should go in and why?  <snip>Heavy, so as to make allowances for a greater number of character concepts and interactions.  Individual interactions can vary between hot and heavy, gore, and light actions.</snip> I am in complete agreeance here.
4) What time line would you like to play in?  I know very little of the SW universe, aside from the movies and the Knights of the Old Republic game (which I haven't played for about a year). : Preferably, I would like to participate in a game dated back before the Fall of the Sith, when there were more than 2 at any one time. It would allow for more Sith characters to be in play.

I am also in agreeance that the Sith are mostly misunderstood. They are not truly the evil monsters that many would make them to be. But, they do use their passion as the guiding force of their lives, and unchecked passion would eventually lead to crimes of passion, such as murder, torture, and rape.

The original Sith were not even "evil" Jedi as they are in the books, comics, and movies. They were but a force-capable species, which a group of force-active individuals fell in with and learned their ways.

It was the human mindset that changed the whole concept of "Sith", and turned them into the malicious, evil things we see in the novels, comics, and big screen.

And yes, Sith CAN be very evil. Take Palpatine, for instance, who was a VERY cruel, racist, and sadistic man. And Sith.

Aside: It might be interesting if a sith and a jedi shared a force bond.  You know, keep seeing flashes from each other's head.  That sort of thing.  ^_^

We can use double eged lightsabers if were Jedi's right? I think I remember it wasn't only Sith specific.

Aside: Would be interesting to see their actions and what steps they take. To share a force bond, don't you have to be close to someone to have it? Would be cool to see their morals, and motives conflict being on the either side of the force.

It was "highly unusual" and "required approval by the Jedi Council".  In other words, good luck.   :-\

I could see a force bond as plot related.  You wouldn't necessarily have to be close (who says you won't be close in the future?)

Okay, thanks for the clarification. But if I get to play as one of those "shadows" maybe that will up my chances in the Jedi Council.

That's very interesting, indeed.

Forget the Jedi and the Sith there are Dark Jedi that aren't Sith, remember the villian in the third trilogy in the novels. I would like to play a Dark Jedi that think the Sith are too passionate and the Jedi not quite right in the head being not passionate enough. Everyone knows to master the force one must study both and use power wisely, just force users are naturally superior to mundane humans so a Jedi should rule the galaxy. I picture my character a femal Dr. Fu Manchu character evil and power hungry but with a strong code of honor. SHE would not kill younglings thats just wrong and would respect a worthy honorable enemy- have to eliminate them but respect them.

Ok I would like political activity, combat and role-playing likely with her own apprentice to learn the way of the Dark Side tempered with a code of honor. Perhaps even forming her own order to challenge the Jedi and the Sith, working in the shadows until she can gain sufficient numbers. I think a ex-Jedi who voluntarily left the Order and is operating in her own way. And for the young Shadow Jedi it would be interesting role-playing with this character. She is not a Sith or a Jedi, in fact my character likely will not like the Sith much (major challenge after all).

As for content Heavy makes more sense to have open more aggressive sex and violence. I have no problem in this case.

And I for one want a double-bladed lightsaber they are so neat, I was thinking a beautiful Twi'lek Dark Jedi with a crafted by her own hand double-bladed lightsaber. [Force-users that use light sabers seem to make their own as part of their training.]

My char could be intresting companion to Dark jedi, or foe, becuase despite that my char has abadonned all Jedi teachings, he is nto Sith, but nor dark jedi, but still uses dark side of force and uses lightsaber (whit sucky 2d8 damage compared to jedie's 3d8 or even bestly 6d8)! But he uses the lightsaber extreme finesse and style ;).

Anycase intresting would be that if my char had force bodn to someone during childhood and after the accident in temple wich made my char run away and then become stoned isnide his soul from the slaughter (other half sensing that somebody dear is feeling pain) and then my char coldly bushes himself away from light side and force bond becomes voided. But then suddenly it re-develops years later when char re-meets the counterpart of the force bond and does not have clue what is going on.........

Well I don't have the D20 rules I hope we do this more rules light and such. Could be fun though if we do this with rules everyone can access. As for her apprentice could be interesting, i was planning to make her more an honorable mafasio sort not good but with a code of honor. She will fobid the use of most known Sith powers but maybe keep the Force Choke thats just neat.

Passion Brings Power, Passion Must be Tempered by Honor, Twined Together Can the Light and Dark Aspects of the Force Serve its Mistress. The Jedi refuse passion and the Sith refuse honor therefore both will fall before the true masters of the force, the Janith. With our tempered passions guided with honor will they both fall to our lightsabers!

Lack of books and knowlege of the system does concern me. I thought that WotC had put up a SRD for star wars like they had for 3.5 D&D but I cant seem to find it. If someone knows of its whereabouts plz PM me with the URL. If it turns out there is not a SW SRD that I can refere people too...well Ill figure something out.

It seems that we have a very broad range of times and encounters that people want but unless I missed someone it sounds like everyone wants to be some sort of Jedi/sith/force sensitive character which is good, it gives me an opportunity to tie you all together and watch the sparks fly  ;D

Since I know what the players want now I will take the next week or so to come up with a rough draft plot where you all (or most of your concepts) fit together. Im thinking the timeline that would work best for the game would be around and during KOTOR 1. Until I have a rough draft ready Ild like to ask everyone to please be patient and feel free to talk to eachother and give constructive citism/suggestions regarding SW games.

There isn't.  Just the D&D and d20 Modern SRDs, Star Wars is a 'special' case.

What's even more frustrating is that the "Revised Starwars" falls somewhere inbetween the 3.0 and 3.5 updates with some of the modern stuff, and uses VP and DR for armor vs. Hit Points and Defense like D20 modern, there is enough differances to make using either D20 SRD a bit difficult to use.

I was really interested in this game, but am going to have to pass, as my humble expierence is that games that use D20 and PBP really really slow to a crawl unless there is some tweaking under the hood. So just a bit of advice you may want to consider somethings to "speed" up the game if you have not run a D20 game by PBP before.

Some recommendations - Have GM roll all initiatives, have players post or pm their actions to GM in any order, then GM summarize the results in one single post. Be flexiable and let GM roll all the dice will even speed it up more, as then the players are just telling their actions, and GM resolves - rather than player say action, then GM tells them what to roll, then player rolls, then GM tells result. Espically if you have more than 1 player.

Again though - not trying to butt into people's buisness just trying to pass on some lesson's learned, so ignore above if not interested.

Cheers,

You know there are people who make up simple rules for games or use other ones: Risus is my favorite for less than serious games and Window RPG rules are great for more serious games. Both are free on-line as well. And to be honest I don't really want to use a D20 Rules system for this we will clearly have higher level characters in cases, and I favor at least some sort of game balance. Plus its hard for me to make up higher level characters off the bat I generally only play in this sort of system if everyone starts at 1st or very low level. Take my character a Dark Jedi strong enough to hold her own would have to be quite advanced in the Jedi Arts so I would insist on being 12th level to have suitable skills. Thats not fair to the others is it? Plus the D20 rules are too clumbsy for the SW genre. I think a generic system where people have different takes on their characters would be much better but keep the core levels close to equal. In Window for example characters have many values from 1d4 (wickly good at something, very rare) to 1d30 (piss poor skills but can try to use it). You need to roll low.

Risus could also work I've worked out a hit point system and makes a fair on-line rules set one can be a Conniving Sith Lord Posing as Leader of the Republic [Hide from Jedi, Manipulate Politics to Your Own Ends, Hide Plots within Plots] (4 Dice) boom a very shady cliche'. Add Master of the Sith Ways [Use Jedi Powers, Hurl Lightning From Hands, Wield Lightsaber with Authority] (4 Dice) and you get the idea. Simple for rules crunching and lets player have fun since each cliche' is a CLASS roughly. So the Shadow Jedi might have Rising Jedi Warrior for one cliche', Hunter of the Sith and Favored Adept with the Good Will of the Jedi Council. HOOKS and BACKGROUND add extra dice to these pools. HOOK could be Destroy All the Jedi Letting the Sith Rule the Galaxy or Hunt Down Sith to Get a Better Shot at the Jedi Council. Plus face it whats more fun sounding a Jedi Knight or a Jedi Knight Adept in the Use of a Double-Bladed Lightsabre. Why be too serious and complicated just get a basic rules set to keep the game flowing. After all in the movies most Jedi well-trained could do all the same things and a cliche' can give a character a specialty in one area, with three cliche's you can be literally anything with a bit of creativity.

Well, I wait till the sytem has handled out. I would have probs whit Starwars core rules becuase I have the book and it explains how each skill is rolled. But otherwise I recomend freeform.
