One thousand nights later...
« on: December 10, 2009, 08:00:08 PM »
I wish you could love me,
But we together are not meant to be
then I try to forget
but 'I love you' is how far I can get

How can that ever be?
When did you lose me?
Our love was way out of line
and I no longer can say I am fine

Do you love me? Do you not love me?
Well, it doesn't matter to me
I wanted to love someone, but got other things instead
Now those things go around the back of my head

The emptyness is irritating my ear
As people say 'she will never be here'
But as I dance to the lonesome song
I know that hope is never wrong.

One thousand nights later
There is no 'happily ever after'
I feel pain growing inside me
and I pout and cry, but it will never stop.

and I still wish you could just love me
no matter how impossible it seems to be
Even if it doesn't make any sense
True feelings don't know past tense

I know you will love me more
Even stronger than before
This is something I am sure
and I do love you too

To put feelings into words is really impossible
but impossible is nothing when your feelings are really there

I can't simply throw into words
How my heart beats faster
and how I feel better
just because I met you in this big world

And then we smile, as you really accept me
your love is simple as Do Re Mi
We got together in the first day of the winter.
Time goes on, and it is already the last day of summer.

Life is a game, you live what you play
everything will fade, but only we will stay
My beating heart will never refrain
Together as one, we will fall for no pain

Our love has a very funny fact
It doesn't have to be forever to be perfect
This beautiful present will be our nice past
So let's enjoy it while it will last

One thousand nights later
My broken heart shatters my torn mind
You were the best thing I could ever find

My soul feels the pain of a great shame
I try to say several words, but I can only say your name
No, life is not really a game.

As my feelings come true
You come to me and say "I love you"
To hear you saying those words
It is the most wonderful thing in the world

Past and present mix and abide
to the wishes of father time
I loved to have you at my side

And today, I see the blood stain
dripping from my heart, feeling the pain
as I have to accept that our winter 'forever'
Just faded to a dry summer of 'never'.

That is easily the longest thing I've ever inspired.

This is what happens when you rant about your headset on the chat <3

It is quite long! But it's very interesting too. Sorry it took so long for me to get to read it.

Anyway, thanks for reading and for the comment <3

As always, it is a very beautiful poem. Though I do agree with the other comments, its length takes away the impact you were trying to make. You have some extremely powerful stanzas here that would make perfect poems on their own. But as always, your gift of words shines here too. Not my favourite of your work, but still lovely. Thank you.
