The more I think about this place the more I am coming round to the idea that a public 'walk in off the street' hotel arrangement wouldn't work. You'd get the wrong people, you'd get STDs, you'd get too much publicity, you'd get the place over-booked.
So I'm now seeing the place more and more as a private club.
That being the case, the way new clients would be introduced is by recommendation from existing members. So far, the way the game has grown that works for all our guests, and it reinforces the theme that they are all known to each other, even slightly, though some better than others.
This feature of self-protection was in my mind when I rejected both the proposed crime-boss guest characters, though I wasn't able to articulate quite why at the time.
So, lets try this. A new member is invited in by an existing one. They must fill in an extremely comprehensive application form, giving all manner of ahem... vital... information. Financial solvency at a high level would be necessary of course. Stringent identity checks would be made. All fraudulent attempts to gain membership would be identified at this point and the referring member would probably also lose their membership (thus reducing the chances of criminal or unstable elements getting in considerably). The applicant would then be interviewed in a neutral location and quite possibly have a medical test or at least a blood sample to check for STDs, HIV and so on. These blood samples would need to be submitted at least every month to enable their membership to continue.
When they are accepted their first visit would be in the company of their referee and they would receive the companionship of a very experienced maid, or maids.
We've had one character arrive in an innocent manner but we can explain that by assuming that his parents are long-standing club members who know the management well and who pulled strings to get their son a surprise weekend stay without the usual formalities. We shall assume his blood sample was taken as part of a normal check up at his doctor where some money changed hands behind the scenes.
So... to answer your question I don't think brochures are in fact necessary in the rooms in quite the way a normal hotel displays its wellness facilities *chuckle* however I think we should still have them because they are naughty and sexy and moderately humiliating to the girls... They won't take the form of a glossy card hand-out though. I think when a guest switches on the suite TV (or it activates automatically when the room is first entered after the digital cardkey is assigned) a private interactive channel would be on and this would show the maids in still and video formats and perhaps some brief action sequences detailing their specialities and preferences. There would be clickable menus and all sorts of fun ways to find out about what is available, their names, vital information and so on.
How does that sound?
The computer logging in and database updates your girl has been doing and which another player has now begun using is fine. It never entered my head that such a system could be used, but now that you've invented it, lets go with it. I love group games when those sorts of neat things happen. *hugs*
I think we might discuss the maids infractions and punishments more in the OOC thread. Also the fact that I just don't know the answer yet might be another reason. I'm in favour of a scene where the maids attend an 'infractions workshop' which would just be a refresher course led by Chelemar's girl with maybe one of our male players doing an NPC male manager/trainer. Also the first time a maid is punished in a formal setting for a serious infraction I think we could state some of the rules at that point as a form of announcement before she gets it (whatever 'it' is).
