Mine are all off roleplaying in a huge muddy field without me, I may just have to punish them severely.

All the men are hungry - Steve Harley

Was in the early evening and the sun was punching into my head
Outside a stockholm cafe at the riverís edge we sat and smiled
We said how rich we were and how warm we felt with a cognac heart
Talked over women in a lonely voice and began to jive

All the men are hungry, all the men are in search of time

Was in a scene from death in the afternoon when I almost cried
I realized papa wanted me to live in his bull ring life
It made me hungry for peace and it made me wild and tore my heart
It didnít help to wipe away the fears like he often claimed

All the men are hungry, all the men are in search of time

Was in a frenzy from the midnight air when I saw the light
I realized only children can live upon a timeless flight
It made me hungry for youth and it made me sad and made me laugh
To think that as we live and learn we only follow godís path

All the men are hungry, all the men are in search of time

All the men are hungry, all the men are in search of time

A song that has always made me think hard on things.

Ooohh, I like that song.  A lot.  I think you should definitely punish the guys when they get back.

Steve Harley is a fantastic singer/writer.
Unforuneately, Cockney Rebel, like Roxy Music, were before thier time and they never truely got the credit they were due to.

I'm listening to Sling it at the moment, a song that I have used, in live roleplay, to illustrate what had happened to my character and how she was feeling.
(She had been thrown into the void for her first meeting with her now nemesis, an evil ancestor by the name of Narduk Nathnul, who did and has sorely used her ever since......But his time is drawing to an end, a way of killing him and ridding her of him forever has been found, now all we need to do is to have it forged into a weapon....*rubs hands together in anticipation*)

The ship was sailing through a tempest of fear
There was lightning and explosions galore
And the waves came whooshing and crashing and boy!
It was panic as we swam for the shore
There were ladies and babies being trampled to hell
Where the flames flickered happy and sad
And the honey-coloured moon was bouncing around
He was laughing, saying: dear, this is mad!!!
Oh, come on!
Oh, come on!
Oh, come on! letís sling it and do it again!

Then a message flashed in the sky by the sun:
Be careful, this is only a game!
If you believe what you see, youíll be rewarded by me
And be drownded or burned - itís all the same!
Oh the fear in our hearts was diminished at once
We began to restore love and peace
And though the ship had gone down, there was a moral we found:
If this is life, then itís hard to believe!

Oh, come on!
Oh, come on!
Oh, come on! letís sling it and do it again!

And Strangely is fine and Dandy, just spends most of his time in the workshop, sniffing glue and getting covered in latex.....*laughs*
He'll be back come October time I reckon.......

wow, that's a cool song too.  I like the lyrics.  Some powerful imagery there.  And, it's good that your char is going to finally get the impliment of destruction to knock Nathnul's butt out!  Beat him to a pulp, Elvi.  *pumps fist*  whoo whoo whoo

yeah, okay, so it's almost 4:30 in the morning, I'm not thinking all that clearly anymore.  Heh.

Revenge WILL be mine......I will probably die exacting it, but what the hell, another for the history book! *laughs*

And if you like that.....how about this one?
I love it!

The Mad, Mad Moonlight - Steve Harley

It was just like a dream, yeah, a surreal scene, like a blue orange
I thought my senses had gone, like I was writing a song about a foot-long Syringe
And she said, hello, dear, itís my party, So I hope youíll be smart, hee hee
And I said, I donít know, but I think Iíll go fix me a stiff drink

Well, I sat there and stared, because at first I was scared of this female Tarzan
And while she talked with the apes about champagne and grapes, I approached her Garden
And she said, now, now, donít try to leave me, Itís unfair to deceive me
I could kill if you try to escape me, come upstairs my friend

Now I knew, I knew, I couldnít be that mean,
So I tried, yeah I really tried to leave her but she was a Big, big, big, big girl, big girl

Hurled out the door, it was becoming more of a test of honour
Would I go, would I stay, could I do it all day and be a certain gonner
And she said, now youíre so young and tender, And donít be concerned with my gender
It was hard but I managed to send her away up to those fluffy white clouds

It was hard on the brain but I would do it again for the satisfaction
She weighed 203 but that was ok by me, there was lots of action
And she said, shall we dance in the moonlight, It would be so nice on a june night
But I said,if itís ok by you, Iíll just sit here a take me a rest

*LOL*
I always do......
The best one was..."Sorry, wasn't me, I was being torn to shreads by an ancestor at the time" and the ancestor popping in, saying "Yes, I recall that quite clearly", then chucking a huge nasty fatal spell at the healer who saved me.

How about this one then Tigre?
I was stood in a clothes shop when I first heard this.
It came on the radio, liked it so much, I walked out and into the next shop and had the assistant hunting for it until he found it. (I was a shop assistants nightmare....."Hello, I've just heard this song, don't know the name of it, or who's singing it, but it's new wave and† sort of goes like this...)
Spent my 'new shirt for work' money on the record, well worth it, perfect example of '80's pop beginning to turn gothic.

"Blue Monday" - New Order

How does it feel to treat me like you do?
When you've your hands upon me
And told me who you are
I thought I was mistaken
I thought I heard your words
Tell me, how do I feel
Tell me now, How do I feel

Those who came before me
Lived through their vocations
From the past until completion
They'll turn away no more
And I still find it so hard
To say what I need to say
But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me
Just how I should feel today

I see a ship in the harbor
I can and shall obey
But if it wasn't for your misfortune
I'd be a heavenly person today
And I thought I was mistaken
And I thought I heard you speak
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now, how should I feel

Now I stand here waiting...
I thought I told you to leave me
While I walked down to the beach
Tell me how does it feel
When your heart grows cold

Ooohh, I really like that.  That definitely evokes emotion.  I'm going to have to get that now.

And be careful with the whole being shredded by ancestors... it's hell on the clothes.

"Sin" - Nine Inch Nails.  And yes, despite the fact that I still had a fever I went to the show on Sunday night.  Bauhaus opened.  The original lineup of Bauhaus.  I think that ranks right up there as one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
