Eri longs for the world of men. She wants nothing more then to walk on the surface and feel sand between her toes. Alas she was born of the sea, the daughter of the Sea King no less. Her sixteenth birthday is quickly nearing, and soon she'll get her chance to have her dream fulfilled. For on the day of every mermaid's sixteenth birthday they have the choice of becoming a human for three days. At the stroke of midnight on the third day they are then given a second choice, they may stay human or they can return to the sea, never again to walk on land. But there's a catch, if they chose to remain human not only do they lose their immortality, but they are given three months to fall in love, and consummate that love, otherwise their souls will be taken and they will become the slaves of the Sea Warlock.
