Jane’s eventual owner should not only be dominant, but also able to woo, cajole, intimidate, coerce, or whatever is needed to win Jane over. Typically, this might happen with a male figure and I’m perfectly fine with that, but if Jane’s pursuer were female, she’d never see it coming, and it might even be more fun.
