Started- A (RP) starcraft game, open to players

I love starcraft, not as much as Koreans but very close. I have played, replayed and overplayed the first one and its expansion and now eagerly await the sequel. (refer to video)

Starcraft 2 - Official Cinematic Trailer [High Quality]

I want to start a group game, but it does not necessarily have to be within the story line. I have a few ideas brewing but want to see if there is interest by others payers who wants to jump into this world. (my plot is between the two games, on a planet on the outer edges(possibly different sector) and I'm open to ideas)

Starcraft to me is a Modern/Futuristic Western- as the game plays, so I am hoping we get the rough neck, gun totting bad asses. (refer to video)
StarCraft 2 BlizzCon 2008 Reunion Cinematic Trailer HD

All the videos/pictures linked are to give people the "feel" for the game, you do not have to be knowledable of the world, but if you wish to join and are willing to talk lore/history I will be more than happy to, since this is a sci-fi setting.

My first inclination for a character is mildly unoriginal... but with somewhat far-reaching implications. An experimental cooperation between Terran and Protoss has resulted in an elite force with hybrid training and technology, resulting in a force of "hunters" similar to Samus Aran and her Chozo armor. Neither side was very much behind the concept, so there are only a few of them.

You can be a ghost turned hunter, so I think you will need those psychic capabilities to use protoss technology.

The good- You can use and understand protoss, comprehend Xel Naga artifacts (plan on them being in the story, ancient artifacts wise)]

The Bad- You are a walking beacon for the zerg

My concept was gonna be a fire bat turned reaper after being sentence to the reaper corp for fucking the wrong admirals wife.
Addicted to stim pack and an itchy trigger finger, since I wanted to be a modern day cowboy in this Rp.
Think Corben Dallas from 5th element with a little Wyatt Erp and a dash of Chris Benoit. (Classes joke I know, *shrug*)

Hmm, neato. I agree about needing the psionics - not only is the tech running on concepts still unknown to humans, it would be a lot more intense in general, and require that additional awareness. Like Newtypes in Gundam... though I dunno if you'd get that reference. She's likely to be a hardened spec ops soldier, considering she'd be coming from the ghost ranks.

Heheh, I love Corben Dallas...

This group is gonna need a Dropship pilot.

That's right, my guy gave up a promising career as an up-and-coming Wraith pilot to take on the dangers of Terran combat transport. If you want to be flown into the most brutal xenomorph environments, if the area is ringed with hostile Protoss dragoons, If you need a drop through Ringer's canyon past the Arc spires at top speed, he's your man.

And all this and only armed with a trusty side-arm and a cheerful cavalier spirit. He's not afraid to die as long as he gets to die laughing.

Awesome picture, the "hunter" one is pretty wicked looking.

Player info will be basic, I tried to look for a system game but tossed the idea out as I want it to be free form. I picture a world that we can all change and if interest is high, players can take a NPC roll to progress or add to story. More on that when a setting is decided!

Name: Samantha Aramus
Age: 29
Player: Karma
Military service record: According to official records, Samantha was killed in a Zerg ambush scarcely two months after she enlisted. In truth, she was selected by the Ghost Corps for black ops training. If her deeds since those days were judged, she would have more medals than the entire senior staff of the navy, and at the same time be summarily executed for charges ranging from genocide to treason. Fortunately, she's officially dead.
Home planet: Rhea (Moon of Jupiter)
Bio: Rhea was the space-colonization-era Australia. Founded originally as a prison moon, more pressing concerns led to the reassignment of Rhea's personnel to military stations. The doors were unlocked as the last personnel evacuated, leaving the prisoners to manage a half-terraformed moon without any external aid. There was much initial conflict as the crowd of criminals fought between themselves to establish a new order, but once one was found, the progress was rapid. The moon itself was wild, with some areas being fully terraformed and others untouched, only furthered by the fact that the moon had been a station for agricultural genetic engineering. The plants and animals loosed by the scientists upon evacuation made the moon a very dangerous place to be outside the walls of the prison. Needless to say, the already rough-and-tumble prison population was forged into a brash, adventurous, and tight-knit society of colonists that built an extensive skill set that was taught from birth, simply by necessity, in order to survive on Rhea.
The Aramus clan made a name for itself as a clan of highly proficient hunters, able to track down and kill anything from the smallest Rhean rats to the massive, deadly Rhean boars. Samantha was no exception, and as the youngest fully trained member, she was picked out by the Ghost Corps for training. Her hardnosed stubbornness and dedication to the job, to the exclusion of any conflicting ideals such as personal gain or patriotism, made her a perfect choice for Section 9 black ops. She proved to be an extremely effective agent, and rapidly became favored for her obedience, never asking questions about her missions, even when they involved killing her own kind. Section 9 eventually established contact with its sister organization in the protoss military, and the two began a tentative co-op to maximize the available technology of both races by combining them. However, the program was castrated at an early stage, and the few prototypes that were produced were primarily high-end protoss technology customized to suit humans. Sam was a participant in this program, and came out of it with a suit of powered armor, with a wide array of tools and weapons at her disposal.
At this point, Sam began to question her role in the galaxy, as working with protoss had given her a perspective that she had never encountered before, having come from a relatively backwater home and working mostly in the black afterwards. She split from Section 9, and either unwilling to acknowledge her existence or unable to stop her with her new weapons, she was allowed to go. She now roams from world to world, seeking work and perhaps some meaning to her life.
Personality: Sam is an uncompromising warrior, having never known circumstances that would have allowed softness. She will kill without remorse if it suits her purpose, and weakness is not tolerated. However, since she's broken from Section 9, she's been exposed to many new types of people she had never interacted with before, and is struggling to adjust to the world outside the one she had known.
Strengths/Weakness: Sam is extraordinarily hardy both mentally and physically, and has the skills and tools to match. However, she can be somewhat socially inept, being ignorant of both social norms and the feelings of others. She is rather crass and blunt, being from a prisoner-founded contained world. In battle her weaknesses are few, but among people, there is little in her favor.

Let me know if you need more. ;D

Name: Lyudmila Nagant
Age: 34
Player: Moon and Star
Service Record: Largely classified, and she's not one to talk either. However if one is meticulous enough to bother, the butt of her precision canister rifle has an estimated 300 or so notches in it. Make of that what you will.
Home World: An originally Russian colony on Deimos, one of Mars' moons.
Background: Former Ghost Corp agent, tech specialist. Like wise one of the lead researchers into the hybrid technology that resulted from the Section 9 program. She's also well versed in biology and life sciences as she monitored the health of not only on herself but the other agents in the program since at the time the use of protoss technology by humans was largely unstudied, in fact it still is. Though she possesses no formal medical training, she is accustom to treating most injuries especially with the hybrid suit's internal medicomp to help ascertain the extent of an agent's injuries on the field. Seeing as her own role at Section 9 would be greatly reduced with no further funding for research on the hybrid tech, she left with her commanding officer, Samantha Aramus, when asked. She had after all thought very highly of the younger woman, and both being telepaths, they had shared a great many things no one else could ever have been aware of.
Personality: Lyudmila appears to most to be extremely cold and distant. She chooses to be so, she has an inherent dislike of non-telepaths, as they will never know what it is like, and considers most of them inferior. She has a great interest in technology especially alien, and is constantly working on ways to improve upon the hybrid tech that they had liberated from Section 9. She is capable of speaking English fluently, however most of the time chooses to speak the language more broken, with her thick Russian accent. This is sometimes intended just to irritate others. Those who have known her long enough sometimes call her Mila for short.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Lyudmila is extremely proud, her prejudice against non-telepaths could be considered a weakness. While she is an extremely capable soldier, her strongest talent is with technology and science, which frequently does have application in the field.

A little information on game setting/start.

Welcome to the Norad 1, one of the oldest battlecruisers still shambling around the galaxy. Long retired and forgotten on one of the floating shipyards, this hunk of crap was stolen by slack jawed rebels and refitted to serve as a mobile rebel colony ship across the Terran controlled star systems. When it is patched up long enough to jump into hyperspace to some of the other known rebel planets, it is a shuttle service to rebels, criminals and any other Terran sick of living on the brink of war or city life. Mercenary forces are known to board  (at a price) and depart these vessels frequently, on their own ships.

For some reason you are on the Norad 1, those being your own. 25 minutes ago in an attempt to jump towards a new system a critical engine failure caused the ship to convulse as if it were coming alive. What started in the engine sector began a long domino effect, the ship is going down, how are you gonna get off? Surely a ship kept up to code would have ample escape pods right?

This is what I have plotting for the start of the campaign.

More info to come,
There is a planet in the horizon (to be named)
Just wanted to add this info in case it is useful to those making characters and such.

thought i would ask, just to be safe . and here is a profile.

Name: Levex "Sarg" Ithain or Marine Z-900909901
Age: 20
Player: Bahu
Military service record: the two yeas of military service records of Marine Z-0900909901 show leadership skills as well as survival rate all but unheard of among Terran Marines. service papers shows that Marine Z-900909901 has fought against Zerg numorous times, as well as against human raiders before his death. off the record Levith has fought marines and numerous bounty hunters to keep himself alive while trying to live out his own life.
Bio: during a clash against Zerg the resoc process caved, and for the first time in two years Marine Z-900909901 remembered his name. he quickly escaped the battle field finding his way aboard a jump able ship and left the fighting behind. finding a backwater port Levex quickly removed any signs of rank or allegiance, and even went as far as to color his armor coal black. having no other skills than knowing how to use his gauss rifle Levex soon turned to the only job that suited him, a gun for hire. he found solace in the fact that he worked for himself, that each job he took was his choice, no longer forced to do some others bidding. Levith can't remember much about the days prior to resoc, though he does have a burning memory of how he was handed over to the Dominion Marines for a price. the face of the traitor brings hate flushing through his veins, but he can't recall why or who the person is. it is this memory that has put great distrust of others into Levex's mind.
Personality: Levex has tossed aside his need of squad mate in exhange for becoming a lone wolf. he is by no means a Ghost, but he can deploy to a decent effect alone. he has over his yearsof selling his servicesas a gunmen learned how to use what ever is laying around him as a weapon be it a simple steel rod or a chaigun cannon he willdo his best to put it to use. he has a knack for explosives as well, which was only expanded in his days of killing for pay, even in his large suit of power armor he can plant a bomb right where it needs to go for the best effect. fear and panic is something he has let himself forget, he still knows the idea of death and how he would prefer to live, buthe won't try to scramble away from a fight if he has to fight. of course thelack of these two emotions has given him a very aggressive out look, and around others he is considered very opinionated, which is putting it nicely.
Strengths/Weakness:Levex is a power house, he excels at brutal hand to hand combat, letting his amplified strength and speed work for him. his knack for fire arms and explosives makes him very useful in setting up traps, as well as blowing a way in, and out of trouble. his power armor lets him go place unarmored people just can't go. but all of these come at a cost, his large size and weight. his reflexes may be above normal, but his running speed is just abot equal to a normal human running. he also finds it hard to fit into smaller areas, as well as hiding his frame is near impossable unless there are boulders or tanks to hide behind. when brute force is needed, he is the perfect man, but when stealth and subtly is needed he just doesn't fit. as he puts it himself "trying to sneak around for me is like trying to make peace with the Zerg, it just ain't happening".

if anything else is needed or something needs rewriting let me know.
