(Can she say goodbye to him without the nurse there?)

"No you have to let me see him please." She cried out trying to get out of the wheelchair and succeeded. They had to let her see her brother one last time.

Unfortunately the nurse was adamant, and by the time she was allowed to see her brother again it was over. He was on his back and looked almost at peace, with just his face visible, the rest covered by a blanket, and with the tubes in his noise and mouth removed.

She was wheeled back into the room when her brother was dead. "Craig?" She could not believe he was dead and the tears streamed down her face.

Craig gave no answer. He looked paler than she had imagined, but the nurse said this was normal - the blood was already pooling in his lower parts.

She could not believe her brother was dead. The tears flowed down as she took her brother's hand in hers.

Her brother's hand felt cold, devoid of life - and alien. Almost wooden. It wasn't her brother anymore.

That's when the tears started to flow uncontrollably she took his hand and put it up to her face.

The hand felt cold and wooden to her face too - maybe even more so. She could almost feel the warmth getting leeched out from her by the touch of death. After a while the nurse started to nudge her to get her to leave the body.

"No please let me stay." She kept his hand near her face not wanting to be taken away from his body just yet. The tears leaked onto his hand.

The nurse clearly was uncomfortable but relented and stayed in the room, fidgeting, until she was ready to leave.

She was never going to be ready to leave. Her head dropped onto his chest as she shook with sobs.

The nurse had to be thinking very dark thoughts after a while, but stayed there, waiting for her to finish her goodbye.

"Can I go home now." She said continuing to hold onto her brother's hand. The tears were gone but she seemed so cold and distant.

They kept her at the clinic for another day before allowing her home. The house was not quite in ruins, but showed the destruction taken place during the night of the storm. At least the broken windows had been boarded up.

(You want to double as another brother who came back from the war? So you wont get bored until he comes back)

Slowly she walked inside dreading going inside because of all the memories. Sighing she locked the door behind her and looked at the over turned couch. Last night her brother was alive....

(can always forward until then.)

Water had done some damage to the carpet and floor tiles. At least the press was kept at bay, though she did not know if the police or the enighbours were behind that.

(Ok go ahead and fast forward but can he be distant)?

She sighed and started cleaning up the house as best she could. What was she going to do with the water damage? Sell the house?

There was an appointment with a man from the insurance scheduled for later in the week, and she remembered something about a lawyer representing her... her mailbox was full with dubious offers from News Sites. If her cell phone worked it would have been ringing all the time, but Craig must have broken it before he...

It was all to much for her with the news reporters coming and going. How did they find out where she lived and what happened to her. At least her phone was dead so they would not be calling. The last week was hard she had not touched her brother's stuff it was to painful.

She was still avoiding her brothers room - at least the windows and doors had been fixed by now and the financial situation had been settled - when she noticed one morning that the door to her brother's room was open. She had left it closed herself.

It had been a little better she wasn't so depressed now but she had not gone out and the food was slowly going down. She was on her way to her room when she noticed the door was open. She pulled it open a bit more and walked inside thinking someone was in the house.

No one was inside - but someone had been inside. Craig's books and CDs were stacked up neatly in their shelves again. And a half-burned candle on the desk hadn't been there before.

When she looked at the CD's and the half burned candle she wondered if someone had come in. She went downstairs and looked at the windows and door to see if they were locked.

The doors were locked still. The windows as well.

Was she losing it? The window was boarded up. She covered her face trying to calm herself down.
