I have about 300K gold and nothing to spend it on. Oh, well!
Escort quests are a pain, that's definitely true. It's all because the game has an atrocious checkpoint system. I think if you die, you can retry from the last autosave, but if you reload the last checkpoint, that takes you back to the last time you rested or visited the rift.
Well, you can make constant saves, but I wasn't gong to take this near-dead guy up a narrow ledge, past an armored cyclopes or two, through a man-hating bandit fortress. Nope. I just have to re-buy the gear and avoid that quest until much later, because you can't just meet the guy somewhere no, he starts following the second you take the quest.
EDIT: So I figured out how to multiclass, err... change vocations. Seriously, don't rob the inns of Gransys, the guys are all blackbelts of the highest level. They let you learn anything if you have the experience to spend on it. Made my diminutive elf chick a big old two-hander, and ran out of money... other than that I picked up another big guy, his name is Tyrone, and I traded in pervy mage for Eskimo-mage.
Went outside killed some saurans (the cloaking lizardmen). You can't hide if I can fan out seven arrows. :)
Rangers are like snipers, a lot of animals just fly back, and you keep most of your average blade skills.
