Email issue and switching email

I hope this is the correct place to ask this, I thought about messaging a mod but I know they're busy so I thought I would try this first. So, the email I used to register for this site was a email I have been using just for writing and such online, so it's not tied to my "real life" identity. I literally only use it for writing sites, etc. When I go to log into that email for the last month or so, it logs in, but then it simply will not open anything, show messages, so on. Just a white screen. It spins, and just won't load anything, which doesn't allow me to check anything there. So, Its basically unusable. Is there any way to switch over to another email as your primary here, and not lose my account?

Go to your profile, then hit 'Forum Profile'.
First item is 'Forum Settings'.
Change your email address there.
Receive verification email.
Reverify.
Done.
