The Originals (Vampire Diaries universe) - Interest Check

I have been brewing on starting up a group game for a while now, and my muse got sparked by a request from someone wanting to do a The Originals group game and who was looking for someone to run it.

Since there was no interest there I am starting up the interest check here in hopes there will be more interest here. And I am very much hoping that the ones who sparked my muse for this are still interested in joining themselves.

So here it goes!


The Originals group game

Vampires
It was euphoric. The feeling of power was indescribable. But the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The Spirits turned on us, and Nature fought back. For every strength there would be a weakness. The sun became our enemy -- it kept us indoors for weeks. And though my mother found a solution, there were other problems. All connected with each other. Whether as allies or enemies, or something else entirely, something supernatural, perhaps. All powerful in their own right. Quite a magical world.

This is the world of The Originals. Filled with power, betrayal, intrigue. But also family and love. Even friendship.

Which side will you be on?
Will you make allies and forge alliances?
Will you have enemies?
Maybe you'll even find love. True love of the most powerful kind.

Will you fight for your cause? Stand up for what you believe in?

If this gains some interest, I will flash this out more. Hopefully with another GM.

Verbosity can be gorgeous in its own right! I am still toeing the line between simply writing what the scene needs vs. a self imposed word minimum.

I appreciate the encouragement here, thank you very much. ^_^

My dream is to one day become a writer and put my best foot forward in what I hope is at least a semi-well received series of books, so I can get a little excited and long-winded about description and what-not. And they do say "Brevity is the soul of wit", but I'll also contest that words in descriptive excess can paint a portrait with color rather than leaving it black and white.

The truth of the matter is that everyone goes at their own pace and writes just the amount that they feel their scenes/posts call for, and that's probably what I should focus on when I write too.

@Notorious You are an incredible writer and I am very lucky to be writing with you. As for length of post in a group game, some people write longer posts while others stick to shorter ones. It's basically the same as in a one on one. So don't worry too much about that.

That being said... it might be a good exercise in finding that balance for sure!

Are we planning to include canon characters in this game, or just have it set in the world with all OCs?

At this point we will probably allow both, so canon and OC. We might reserve a few canon characters for GM characters, though, so not every canon character might be available. But we are still discussing this.

Yes, the main stage for this game, and the start, will be in New Orleans. Depending on how the game goes Mystic Falls might be added, too. But the main focus right now is New Orleans.
