Patching up, definitely. Painkillers, yes. Performance drugs, maybe, need to think a bit. But it does make sense. "The other guy is doing it." Say, for a rematch after losing to a drugged-up opponent.

Blood and Bone is among my favorites. I occasionally go on a fighting movie watching spree.

Mostly I love his voice. And he's preeeettty   There's a cool video of him talking to Kimbo Slice before Kimbo died, and showing him the difference in speed between boxing and MMA punches. Blood and Bone IS a fun movie, though. And there's the one where he's training the kids...don't remember the name of it.  Sort of a more violent Karate Kid.

That was mine! This is the new and improved version. It'll be great to have you join us and excited to see what you come up with for a character. Totally okay to reserve a faceclaim. I'll just make a note of it on the character creation page.

I'm going to let the recruitment run another day or two, then planning to start things up early in the week. I should have all the IC threads ready today for the first bit, and I'll get some mission dossiers done too so that everyone can see what's there.

For sure c: I'm also debating other ideas though, so things are varied and characters feel special. Is there anything that is missing that could be useful? Or any relations people are after?

ThisOneGal is definitely right. Peachy and I had you taped into a medical role of some sort, so there's definitely room if you still want to go that route. That might be some kind of specialist (a surgeon for instance), whereas vin's Doc is more a general MD. A research doctor would be good too, or any sort of medical support staff.

Livina is our only crew-based soldier type, whereas we have a handful of criminals running around. Someone in a sharpshooting, containment, or otherwise policing side could be useful. The Warden of the prison section, or the the supermax wing - someone in the pre-crash chain of command. We've got an engineer, but no hard computer expert, so there's that. Navigator of some kind. Non-medical sciences are completely open. Astrophysicist or some such.

Options for prisoners are also pretty endless. We have a couple of hand-to-hand killers, so I might veer away from that.

I like it.

I made my character, Doc, the recently promoted chief medical officer dealing with patients among the crew, the prison personnel and the prisoners.

Maybe your character wanted the chief gig, making them rivals.

Maybe our characters had a fling or even a short relationship, but they broke up.

Maybe they play D&D together.

If you don't want to go with another doctor, maybe:

- a lieutenant to the top people (i.e., the ship captain and the prison warden)

- a corporate/business/accountant/manager type representing their employer, a company that is part of the prison industrial complex

- a pilot who flies anything from small shuttles to the prison ship itself, who perhaps also caused the ship to crash by getting too close to the planet's defenses

Chief medical officer is going to involve a lot more admin work, too. So @xPeachyPuff - if you did want to go the doctor/medic route, I think it'd make sense your character is someone who doesn't want to deal with all the paperwork? Wants to stick to helping patients kind of thing and avoid the other stuff. Just a thought! And yeah, like Aethy said - a surgeon would be great or someone more focused on the research side of things, developing new medicines and therapies, etc.

Aethy and vin gave some other great ideas for what we need, too. We have a lot of openings!
