✨The Asterism Corporation✨
In the boundless frontier of the stars, The Asterism Corporation stands as one of the architects of humanity’s future. From colossal orbital shipyards to terraforming engines that breathe life into barren worlds, Asterism designs, builds, and funds the vessels and visions that carry civilization beyond the cradle of Earth. Equal parts technological juggernaut and colonial overseer, the corporation controls the arteries of interstellar travel, shaping new worlds with precision—and profit.

Whether charting unclaimed systems, establishing corporate-governed colonies, or extracting the rare elements that power the galaxy, Asterism’s reach extends across every known quadrant. To some, it is humanity’s saviour. To others, a soulless machine hiding behind promises of progress. But one truth remains: where there are stars to chase, Asterism will be there first—staking its claim on tomorrow.

Just a quick little blur and a name~
My characters adoptive mother would be a large shareholder in the company and on the board in a high up position.

That looks great to me! I did forget to mention that some of the crew are military (Navy), but I think that's fine. And I have the ranking system all worked out in my head. Government working in tandem with a big corporation fits perfectly in my mind. Sooo, if you're good with that, I'm happy with The Asterism Corp!

Now that makes me wonder: where does Asterism fit with the Navy? In this future where the gov't and big corpo are working together, does Lt. Ketch also technically work for the large names like Asterism, or does the military function separately from capitalism in the inner rim worlds?

If you're going with the Aliens model, Weyland regularly uses the military to support their interests. I could see Asterism 'supporting' the navy to keep a good public image. Plus it's got to be cheaper than payrolling your own private military.

Of course you could also say that Asterism just pays better than the military. Who wouldn't jump for more credits and a cushier gig. xD

I was thinking that the Navy people would operate under their command structure, working for the government. The navy itself operates with the corporation, but they're still separate entities (if that makes any sense?).

So, in my head, Liv would answer to the captain, who'd answer to higher naval authorities; she wouldn't be working for any corporation directly.

Very much this. It fits perfectly with what I was envisioning. The first part, particularly.

I think that makes sense and keeps it balanced between the two! Asterism staff report back to their command, whose higherups work with the Navy side of things. So it two separate entities working together. Also Asterism doesn't have to be the maker of the Charon, they could just be within their umbrella. Someone has to keep tabs on people after all, and I'm sure the government would want that too, with the possibility of shaping things in their image if things are dodgy ofc. Cause the Corp would def be dodgy for sure lol
