I was wondering if there's a straightforward manner to advertise what kind of partner you're looking for. We have Female, Male, and Non-Binary interest threads, which are handy for people looking for that kind of partner, but this can result in offers from people who do not fit your preferences, and (while this might not be everyone's case). I feel guilty saying; "Sorry, I'm not looking for a male partner for that". It would also help speed up searches if there was a quick way to specify this.

Most people in their request threads or in their on/off threads (or both) often do that. With their proposed plots they will specify what they're looking for partner wise, or with their title they will add in something like (M for F) or ( F for Any ) or whatever. Some people will specify that they are only looking for specific partners, and others may be open to partners of any gender identity. In my experience, the more detailed I am in my request thread for what I am looking for, the less likely I am to be contacted by folks who don't fit what I'm looking for. You can't control how other people decide to phrase their search and on/off threads, but you can be very specific in yours to try to attract the sort of writing partner you're looking for.

Your best bet is probably to put a statement in the first paragraph of the post saying 'I am only looking for [male characters]' - filling in the brackets with whatever non-negotiable applies.  Keep in mind that this won't prevent all misdirected contacts, but there's no reason to feel guilty about saying 'I'm sorry, but my request post said [insert quote].'

Almost any time that someone puts up an ad - whether it's for a job, an RP request, or buying/selling on Facebook - there are going to be responses that don't qualify.  You are not obligated to accept someone who doesn't meet your requirements.
