PATHFINDER 2e

Godrise
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

ABSALOM the City at the Center of the World, the Patchwork City, the City of Buried Treasures, was raised a massive island from the sea with the awesome power of the meteorite Starstone. The Starstone was kept atop its Cathedral surrounded by the bottomless Chasm at the heart of Ascendant Court. Many who coveted and dared touch the Starstone over thousands of years had perished. Only the four who survived the touch went on to become literal gods and reigned thousands of years since.

The gods all have died under mysterious circumstances. Now, no gods remain.

It is left to THE PATHFINDER SOCIETY to determine and chronicle from their archaeological adventures the reason why.

THE PATHFINDER SOCIETY accepts members of all backgrounds, creeds, and morals. Any applicant who does well on the initial tests takes the oath and becomes an initiate. Training is overseen by 3 deans at the Grand Lodge: the Master of Swords, the Master of Spells, and the Master of Scrolls. The final test, known as the Confirmation, is taken after 3 years as an initiate (although ambitious or gifted initiates may persuade the deans to allow them to take the test earlier). The test is the initiate's first mission; those who pass become Pathfinders, and those who fail are discharged from the Society but often remain on good terms afterwards.

Every year, non-Pathfinders who uncover historical discoveries of great significance are offered full Pathfinder status by the Decemvirate; this is known as a "field commission". More commonly, anyone who makes a discovery and elects to report it to the Society is offered the chance to join as an initiate, and to have the discovery count towards their final Confirmation. Depending on the individual, the prospective Pathfinder may then be asked to report to the Grand Lodge for further training or invited to attempt the remaining tasks required for Confirmation.

An unfair life has led you here at the end of the road without an option. You are an applicant, a non-Pathfinder. You are to begin your training with one of the 3 deans at the Grand Lodge: the Master of Swords, the Master of Spells, and the Master of Scrolls. You will need to do well on your initial tests (or uncover a historical discovery of great significance) before they consider you as an initiate.

Whether or not you are interested in dusting bones and relics, your goal remains the same: become and remain a Pathfinder long enough that you gain some priceless or powerful artifacts and perhaps, if brave enough, gain the miraculous strength to survive touching the Starstone and rise as another god.

If the gods are dead does divine magic work at all?

Hell yeah! Though the rulers of Domains are dead, the Domains are left behind.
Also, there are potent beings that are said to be as strong as gods, and even stronger.
Even the Starstone itself is said to be a vehicle of making its survivors into gods.

I’d be happy to plant my flag of interest here.

Wondering if the Harrower discipline is allowed.

Very nice! Characters in this game are starting at Level 01, if you don't mind starting anew!

Callie Del Noire

I know I got like about 30 1st levels in my hero lab online file.

Omg, now it's become my personal mission to get your Pathfinder to climb higher than ever before xD

Hexed

Sounds interesting.

Any restrictions on ancestry or class?

Not the third party stuff but just from within paizos creations.

Do you need a shield bearer for your pavaise?

Inspiration photos. Any suggestions? Though they would influence the character. But that's just a challenge! Playing a Fletchling for sure.

While we're starting at level one, for purposes of long-term build planning, will the free archetype variant rule be in effect?

For champions/clerics, do they need to pick one of the (dead) gods and use their domains/associated skills/favored weapon, or can they freely mix and match?

How recently did the gods die, as far as the PCs know?

Raku

I assume you’ll want us to send our backstories with our sheets?
