Nyakuni

Hello! I'm Nyakuni, or Nya, and I'm hoping to get into group RP at some point, but might enjoy one-on-one with the right partner. I may even GM once I get a handle on how that's done around here. For now, I'll focus on what I like and invite folks to let me know if they have any interest in trying something out with me or have any suggestions for any game(s) I might join. ;D  Thanks and cheers!

Specific Scenarios
An Unusual Vampire Story:
I've seen plenty of typical vampire stories and rps, and am hoping for some divergence from that take here. Whether the unusual part is the vampire as an individual, the way vampires present as a species, or how they interact with the world, I want to see a fresh take on the subject. Maybe instead of "vampire sires person they have the hots for/wants to dominate," we try something like "vampire decides to sire young team of secret vigilantes/professional assassins" or "vampire outs himself via social media and becomes a pop culture icon, hijinks ensue."

Maybe instead of feeding on blood or vitality, these vampires feed on mental anguish or fear. Maybe something devastating happens to many of the old-blood vampires and suddenly a lot of younger ones have the freedom and desire to change up vampire politics, and we go through the process of how they as a species decide to rule themselves differently or come out to humanity and what they looks like from day one instead of just jumping into "everybody knows now, it's just how things are." This could also very easily (in my mind) be turned into a group RP if we go with that last route.

Lost In Reflection
I'd love to see this as a freeform group psychological horror rp, but will have to wait and see if I can manage GMing first. Basically, this rp would focus on individuals who have, for whatever reason, incredibly low self-esteem. These characters will have fallen through a mirror or reflective surface while struggling with their inner turmoil into a world that seems the same as their own, except in horror/uncanny valley style. The denizens are not truly human. These creatures reflect all the thoughts and feelings that make our characters hate themselves.

Do they have an eating disorder? The denizens may try to pin them down and force feed them. Do they feel weak and insignificant? They may face bullies or gangs. These are vague and gentle descriptions... the rp will not be. It will probably fit better into adult rp once/if I become able to do so (another reason I'm probably holding off on this one).

Whether the people trapped in this world try to band together or fight alone, how they manage to overcome or fail these challenges, and whether they break or become stronger in doing so is what interests me here.

Hello, Fellow Humans
As someone who struggles with trying to fit in while being ill-equipped to do so, I'm fascinated by the kinds of scenarios that dial that up to 11. For this, I'd want to examine the efforts of a non-human entity that can physically replicate the form of a human, but is finding it far more difficult to disguise themselves within the subtle nuances, confusing logic and language, and variety of cultural practices that many of us embrace instinctively. Whether they are doing this to study us, to hunt us, just to survive being stranded here, or to ultimately destroy us is up in the air, as I can see any of those options being quite interesting.
