The Beastmen of Eon (Interest check, sandbox, cyoa, isekai)

PLOT

You, or rather your character(s), have been isekai'd from modern Earth to an alternate realm called Eon. More specifically, slipping through a random dimensional tear. Here, animals have evolved into intelligent, anthropomorphic Beastmen that are still in a primitive evolutionary state of living. Instead of cities, there are tribes and clans working together, sometimes against, to survive in the harsh lands of their planet. Humans are a critically endangered species as they are only brought to Eon through dimensional travel with no Eonic natives existing. Their greatest asset is their sexual compatibility to all Beastmen. A human woman's womb is greatly fertile to that of her beastly counterpart while a human male can impregnate any willing beastwoman.

However, as comes with their rarity and value, they are not treated as equals. What humans are found are taken to The Great Landing where they will be allowed what is called a Choosing. There they are cleaned up and presented to all the gathering groups from all across the continent and are given some semblance of a choice. Who will they go with? Each clan and tribe have their own culture, rules and purpose for the unlucky travelers. 

But there is a wider world outside the walls and their fates are uncertain. Who will they become? What role with they play? It is up to you to find out.

I N F O R M A T I O N

I will be the GM and in charge of the worldbuilding, all NPC characters and events that will be presented to your character. While the game is set and happening in the same world, player characters will most likely not interact with each other much as I am considering this as a solo game for each participant. You are free to interact with world as much as possible with a lot of freedom. Each of my posts will be as detailed as possible to offer up plenty of NPCs to interact with, choices to make, places to go and even then, creativity on your part is highly encouraged.

A part that is as large as the worldbuilding is the character development. Say your character wants to learn sword fighting. It is up to them to figure out where or how to learn. Perhaps asking someone close to them, discovering a sword and training themselves, sneaking out from wherever they end up and going to battle; the opportunities are plentiful. More information will be released as I make an offical thread. For now, this is more of an interest check.

Intriguing idea. I just need to check I understood the concept right. Players can roleplay only humans who have been isekaid to Eon and player characters wouldn't be interacting with each other, but only with GM's npcs? So for example playing a tribeswoman of Eon would be out of question?

Correct. The whole plot revolves around the said humans that have been isekai's into Eon, so I am not sure where a tribeswoman would fit.

Honestly, setting aside that it would probably be hosted on one thread, I don’t really see it as a group game. I posted on this specific forum because I am looking for multiple players who would be interested and was not sure exactly where to put it.

But I will be happy to move it if there is another proper place for the ad.

I think that, while not the intent, there is potential for stories to interact/intersect.

I guess I'm more interested in the types of beastpeoples! Right? That's the pull? How much worldbuilding will there be? How collaborative?

It was not my intention, but there could definitely be good ideas that we could implement into the stories for the characters to meet. 

And heck yes! I didn’t have a limit on types. Mammalian and lizard are a definite. Big worldbuilding, but expand on collaboration for me.

Question on the Tags.  I love a good chunk of them, and there are some I would not want to see.  Is a mix and match of kinks OK or were you looking for people that were open to all of them?

It was not my intention, but there could definitely be good ideas that we could implement into the stories for the characters to meet.

Also, I make maps. I love making maps. Do you want a map? I can make a map!

Opposite of Earth, warmer climates keep to the center traveling South into Steppes. There are no deserts and the North has a small subarctic region. The center of the map has The Lodge, where groups from all over gather. Hope this is enough to go on for now.

If you don't mind a couple of suggestions from another GM, unless you're planning to run every significant beastfolk yourself (which could likely be a lot of work), it might be easier to let the players have two characters (if they want), one isekai'ed human and one beastfolk. That way they can also help define the character of the different beastfolk tribes, and help with the world building.

Anything that makes the GMs life easier is generally a good thing :)

I’m going to keep an eye on this and see if the game starts moving more in group game direction.

I agree with HairyHeretic on that it would be a good idea to open the beastmen for players to roleplay too. Playing all interactions with player characters is extremely ambitious and I’m worried it might burn out the GM fast.

For me the interactions and stories between the player characters is the thing that makes the game interesting. If players are allowed to make connections and their own storylines, it’s going to create interlaced connections in a more organic way than if everything was handed down by a GM. And in addition it’s going to make running the game lighter for the GM.

Whichever way this roleplay takes is ultimately up to the GM, as they are the one with vision and concept of this game and they know which parts can be changed and which are invariable. In other words, I will respect the GM decisions : )
