It seems to be some sort of distributed crawling operations that are very poorly configured. It wasn't a single actor. Tencent, OpenAI, Amazon, and some 'website improvement crawler' operation were some actors with misconfigured bots.

But this didn't even make up for half the traffic. Most of it is very human-looking traffic that is coming from consumer IPs, and consumer machines, from South America. Some malicious browser extension maybe? It's hard to say. Considering I have their attention, maybe I should exploit it. >_>

Weirdly, I got Error 449 regarding cookies while already signed in to E today, just a moment ago--I never logged out, so I never had to log back in, yet still got the error. It's the first time I've gotten that error. Very odd.

But I get wanting to keep the bots out. Crazy amount of bots, holy shit O_o

I got the error message today when I clicked a link from my email. It wanted me to show cookies and worried that I was not human.

When I went back to Firefox everything worked fine.

I'll screenshot the message if it happens again.

Stil happening for me went through microsoft search and it happened there and firefox

Have you used the Clear Cookies link provided in the error message?  Also, if this is arising from a bookmark, delete the old bookmark and re-bookmark it.  This includes if you have a bookmark for elliquiy.com .

The error message just happened to me.  I just got a new computer and am setting everything up.  Once I refreshed it let me log in.

This has been my experience. I've got it a few times and I just go back and click the same link again or refresh and it's fine.
