Hey there! We've enjoyed an awesome response to the game and the world is slowly beginning to take shape! Our city is filled with villains, almost all of which now control their own parts of the world. We have plenty of players, but we would love to have more to really flesh out our new universe. We are still open to any Marvel or OC on either side, but we really need heroes!

How would your hero navigate this dark new world where the villains are in control? Will you give up everything, living in the shadows and resist? Will you betray everything for an easy life, joining the evil you used to fight? The choice if yours!

Question. So it seems like most of New York is already taken. If we wanted to play a villain who had their own little territory how would that work? Or is that off the table at this point? To be specific I am pondering a villain who controls Mt. Sinai and maybe a little area around it, which would be in Doom's territory on the map. I would be okay with them having a sort of feudal relationship with Doom but I don't know if that's an option or not?

History: Nigel was the poster child for bullying... as the victim.  He endured horrendous bullying from many sources, including parents and teachers.  His arrogance and insistence on his own intellectual superiority drew the ire of his peers and his teachers.  His solace was movies and they, in turn, led him to fencing.  He was a dedicated fencer but according to his coaches (who were also unhappy with his ego) he was not aggressive enough to compete on an international stage.  That same lack of aggression and ego led to his repeated failure with women.  An incel of the lowest order, he seemed destined to die alone and friendless.  Then his powers awakened and things changed.  He was now the bully and the women could no longer say no....

How you got here: Nigel was in an alley behind a bar, happily assaulting a woman who had already been roofied, when a squad of lesser heroines entered the scene.  Nigel assumed his Creeper form and was happily draining the group when a major heroine arrived.  She was seriously squicked when Creeper started talking dirty to her and blasted him with a powerful, sustained energy blast, powerful enough to fill Creeper with more energy than he'd ever felt before.  It was ecstasy.  When the blast ended and the dust settled, Creeper had been blown into a completely different universe.

Personality: Nigel is a sexual deviant, preferring helpless, unwilling partners.  He hangs with an unsavory crowd and doesn't mind sloppy seconds.  He's a puzzle solver and a deductive reasoner, able to draw conclusions from available evidence.  He's a skilled fencer but was unable to make the Olympic team because he was 'not aggressive enough'.  A true sociopath, he is without empathy and presents a cold, callous demeanor.  He values his own life well above that of other and will abandon anyone he is currently associating with,  if he feels threatened.

Powers /Skills:  Shadow form- Creeper melts from human form into a puddle of liquid-like shadowy goo.  He can spread himself over an area the size of a small parking lot, as long as there is shadow.  He cannot move his shadow form into any area with direct light and cannot assume his shadow form when in direct light.

Cling - Creeper's 'shadow-stuff' can anchor the average person to the ground and can affect as many people as are standing on the ground.  Exceptional strong humans (athletes, weight lifters) can pull themselves free.  Doing so is like pulling your foot out of mud or tar but there is no residue.  The goo cannot adhere to any friction-less surface.

Energy drain - Creeper draws energy from his trapped victims, creating a lethargy and fatigue that can render his victims unconscious but he cannot kill with it.  Even the feeblest victim is unlikely to be permanently harmed.  He feeds on the energy, using it to regenerate.  He cannot store the energy he steals and any he doesn't use is lost.  He is capable of absorbing a considerable amount of energy quickly, so power blasts or do no damage to him.  He claims that, if given enough energy he could split and create duplicates of himself but there is no proof that this is true.

Ons & Offs:ONs - helpless women, draining, homophobic males (he loves making them helpless and making them think he's going to assault them)/OFFs - actual homosexuality (hypocritical much?), women who fly (because he can't drain them)

Weaknesses:Cold - The absence of energy is Creeper's kryptonite.  Virtually immune to any other type of attack, cold saps his energy away.  Exposure to extreme cold will quickly drive him back to his human form.  Winter is difficult for Creeper to operate in but not impossible. 

Creeper's Liquid Shadow form

Age: How dare you ask?! (It's 30.)
Species: Mutant
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian

History: Emma was born into money and reaped all the benefits that such an education allowed her. She became a successful businesswoman and eventually sought even more power and influence. She eventually found herself at the Hellfire Club, a collection of powerful individuals hiding behind the disguise of a high-end strip club, and applying for membership, surprisingly they knew about her mutant abilities and even included several mutants among their the club's Inner Circle. Gaining membership in the Inner Circle required that she debase herself as part of the initiation so Emma soon found herself as the main attraction in the strip club.

She paid her dues and was accepted into the Inner Circle, quickly working to remove the members that had required her debasement in order to become a member in a very permanent manner. She spend years leading the Hellfire Club before the announcement about the mutant homeland of Krakoa was made, calling all mutants "home". Sensing a massive opportunity, Emma was quick to head there and started developing a power base on Krakoa. A trip through one of it's portals dropped her in the city, with no way home, but luckily Emma Frost knows how to make money easily enough.

How you got here: The portals of Krakoa aren't prone to accidents or tampering but apparently it can happen and, to make matters worse, there is no portal on this side that she can travel back through.

Personality: Calculating, manipulative, often described as bitchy or cold. Measures people and relationships in terms of how useful they are to her plans and needs but she isn't above holding onto a favorite pet or two.

Appearance: Curvaceous figure, 5'9", blonde hair and blue eyes. Almost always clad in white as befitting her moniker as the White Queen.

Faceclaim: Yvonne Strahovski

Powers / skills: Physical abilities of a woman that keeps herself in great shape.

• Martial artist, business expert, finance expert, psychic combat master, master manipulator, master seductress.

• Emma possesses incredible psychic powers. Reading minds, manipulating them, altering perceptions are all well within the scope of her abilities.
• She also possesses the ability to turn herself into a sort of living diamond form. This form makes her inhumanly strong and tough but prevents her from using her mental powers.

Ons & Offs: O/o

Primary Minion: Emma doesn't have a primary minion, although she keeps a wide variety of people on her payroll or in her contacts.

Limitations/Weakness: Emma possesses the limits of a normal person when not in her diamond form. She can also be knocked out by a strong enough psychic attack and her diamond form can be broken if struck by a powerful enough attack.

Name: Dr Henry 'Hank' Malcolm
Codename: 40K
Age: 42
Species: Metahuman
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (Sapiosexual and demisexual)
Appearance: 6'10", 270 lbs, brown eyes, blonde hair.  40K looks like a tank.  He is muscular and moves with cat-like grace.  Looks are deceiving, because 40K  may have a body builder's body, he is no hand to hand combatant. He wears a skull mask to help hide his expressions when dealing with patients and to remind himself that his powers are lethal.
Faceclaim: Alex Pettyfer

History: Henry discovered his power to make his hands glow and showed it to his best friend.  They used it to do little more than read in the dark.  It wasn't until Henry's friend got deathly ill with cancer that he realized how dangerous the power was.  It was at that point he swore to become a doctor and to never again harm someone with his power.

When he became a doctor, he specialized in cancer surgery.  The high point of his career was, using his intangibility and a laparoscopic rig, operating on an eight year old with anemia and hemophilia, treating an aggressive stage IV cancer that was in the patient's brain, lungs, spine, liver, bone marrow and bowel.  Sixteen hours later, one hundred and seventeen individual tumors had been isolated and irradiated, all without opening the patient up because he would have bled to death if anyone had.  Three months later, the  anemia had reversed and the patient was cancer free.

The feat got him invited to join SPEAR, an organization of superhumans who used their power for the common good.  He became close friends with the resident healer Knight Hawk and her wife Jumpstart, develop unreciprocated feelings for Knight Hawk.  After several intimate conversations, he was convinced that he could be nothing more than a third wheel in the relationship and that while his friendship was treasured, asking for more would destroy the platonic relationship.  A chance meeting with Heatwave at a charity event started was the beginning of a healthier relationship.

How you got here: Henry, along with a heroine named Pixie were the only option to deal with a world destroying entity that had arrived from hyperspace.  Henry's intangibility would allow them to penetrate the entity's shields, while Pixie's ability to turn herself into a nuclear detonation would hopefully destroy it from within.

After the explosion, Henry found himself washing up on the shores of Manhattan.  He was quickly discovered by Dr Doom and upon learning of his medical skills, he was put to work tending the injured and wounded in Manhattan.

Personality: Henry finds intelligent women incredibly attractive but requires a close emotional relationship before he can be sexually attracted to someone.  He has, it seems, the bad fortune to frequently attach himself to unavailable women.  He is a healer first and a hero second, mainly because his powers are suited more for villainy than heroism.

He misses his friends terribly and has been slow to make new friends.

Powers/Skills:   POWERS - All of 40K's powers stem from radiation, specifically Potassium 40 (hence the name).  He can become intangible, travel at exceptional speeds and attack with waves of radiation.  He usually uses it treat cancer patients.  Lead or thick concrete can stop him when he is intangible and he refuses to use his powers to hurt people.  As a doctor, he has sworn to do no harm.

SKILLS - Henry is a world class cancer specialist.  His is also an excellent chef and an amateur body builder.

I have a question regarding character creation. In this universe, what became of the Asgardians?

I sort of have an idea for a daughter of Thor and the Enchantress, if that would be okay. Not sure if she would have Mjolnir (or if that would be allowed). A heroine, but a new and young one.

She would not be allowed to have Mjolnir. People arrive with little more than than the clothes on their backs.

Then all the villains (Asgardian and otherwise) struck at once, overwhelming the defenses and triggering Ragnarok, the Doom of the Gods. As Asgard burned around her and her father went out to be a big damn hero one last time, Astrid fled through the Bifrost. But something went wrong and she wound up in Apocalypse City with no clue as to what happened, where she is, or how to get home. Would that work?

Name: Sersi
Codename: None
Age: She was old when humanity was young.
Species: Eternal
Gender: Genderfluid (but currently enjoying living as a Female)
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual

History: Sersi is a tool created for a purpose.  She truly only resembles a person.  She is not a god but she will make you feel as if gods are inadequate next to her.  She is an Eternal, one created by the Celestials to serve the Machine.  She is a custodian of humanity.  She cleans it's it's blemishes and mops it's floors (metaphorically at least).  To do more, or less, would be impossible.  She is part of the Machine, she is of it, and to protect herself is to protect it.

As of late, she has sat on the sidelines while wars have raged, and humanity has flourished.  She enjoys the latter much more than the former, but she has long given up trying to control either.  She was an avenger for a time, and for a time her enemy.  Now she sits in the seat in the middle.  Her loyalty is to the Machine and to herself.


How you got here:  As the city has fallen into darkness, she has sat and watched.  The affairs of kings and dukes do not matter to her outside of what fleeting pleasure she might extract in the moment. 

Personality: Cunning, flippant, devious, vain and friendly.

Appearance: A true beauty, she has a body that has been captured thousands of times in statue, song, painting, legend, and even in the cave paintings of France.  She is tall with long dark hair, gorgeous long legs and a smile that melts.

Powers / skills: As an ageless being, she has many skills including a mastery of languages.  As an eternal, she also has the powers typical to them with a few particular specialties of her own.

• Telepathy:  She can read minds and manipulate the weak willed
• Indestructibility:  Superhumanly tough and strong, although she does hate to show off.
• Flight & Teleportation:  The Machine allows her move through it's skies and hidden hallways in it's service.
• Transmutation:  She is a fifth-level adept, a master of rearranging molocules to suit her many and myriad whims, she is a fifth level adept, a true master, even amongst the Eternals.

Ons & Offs: Sersi does what she wishes and with whom she wants.  (Ask first)

Primary Minion: Emma doesn't have a primary minion, although she keeps a wide variety of people on her payroll or in her contacts.

Limitations/Weakness: As an Eternal, her life is not her own.  She is of the Machine, and subject to it's will.  She may not break it's programming, for to do so would destroy her.

Allegiance:  Unknown.  Her only true allegiance is to the Machine.  In the midst of Midnight City though, she's just as likely to be friend to hero or villain.  She cares not who rules, although she will work to save lives of humans.  All humans.
