I found it interesting that her Wiki didn't mention whether she was a member of MENSA, and that the second site that came up on Google was a 'shrine to Carol's bum'.
As for the little girl, there are two main ways that the super-intelligent get through U.S. public school, really. One is they get advanced beyond their peers, which may expose her to more interesting subjects, but still tends to alienate them, even if it's part of a group effort like Simon's Rock or the PEG program at MBC. Two is that they muddle through with their age-group, getting good grades without studying, but bored to tears until they hit a point where they need
to study - and since they haven't had to, they don't have those skills.
I hope her parents realize this, and don't simply hold her up like some side-show exhibit.
