Hey Fellow GMs

I'm entertaining the idea of offering to run a game of Masks: A New Generation and while it's not dice heavy by any means, there is a need to roll 2d6 from time to time.

I'm not against spinning up a discord server, dice bot etc, but I feel like that might limit my audience for a forum game. What techniques for games that require dice rolls have people found successful here? Is it practical to just let people roll and include it manually in their posts?

Thanks,

Hatless

I love Masks! Give me all of the edgy teenager nonsense. If you do decide to make it a reality, I'll definitely be poking around your thread. :-)

I'm in a similar boat. I have a vague idea of something I'd like to run, and I've been searching around for solutions to the dice problem (gotta have my math rocks.) I know most of the D&D folks on here just use Discord. It worked fine the one or two times I've used it. If you do go that route, just put it out there first so everyone that signs up is aware of what they're getting into. I know some people don't like letting Elliquiy stuff bleed into other corners of the internet.

I have less experience with online dice rollers, but the game I'm currently in makes use of one. I personally prefer it over Discord so far, just because pasting the results into a post keeps everything in one place. But I suppose there's nothing stopping anyone from pasting results from Discord into Elliquiy either.

I'd probably recommend having the dice rolls be verified in some way. I'm the type that would trust people to be honest, but sometimes players will be using moves on each other and I can foresee some drama popping up.

I generally use Roll20 or dddice.
