She knew he loved hanging with his friends and looked away. "I'll bring your homework tomorrow?" She asked looking back up at him. Maybe she wont go to school tomorrow in case something happened to him. "Or maybe I will stay home." The fear of loosing him was starting to get to her.

He looked at her a bit critically, "What for? You're not sick. You'll get behind in your homework too if you do." Despite his situation, he did not want to get in the way of his sister's schooling. Fights or not, he didn't want her to stay home in silent misery. School life was a very big thing to him and he wanted to make sure she didn't get cooped up like him.

"But what if something happens to you?" She asked looking back toward him and placing her hand on his knee again without thinking. This was so hard leaving him even leaving the same room that he was in. Would now be the last time that she would talk to him?

"I...I don't... know." The fact made him feel helpless and a little anxious. He placed his hand on hers, feeling a bit comforted. "What will you be able to do here if something does?" Was it really worth pulling her out of school? He gave her wrist a small squeeze, keeping serious.

Her fingers twitched under his hand when he put his hand on hers. Taking a deep breath she looked up at him. "Can we not think about that right now? It's making me depressed."

"Then...what do you want to talk about?" It was so rare for them just to talk that he was sure she'd come to rub the sickness in his face and tease him. But now she seemed so helpless, did she actually care for him?

No she would never rub it in his face about the sickness and she did care for him. "I just don't want us to fight anymore." She looked up at him this time with tears in her eyes.

He sighed and leaned back, feeling the pillow behind him. "Then what do you want to do? What do you want to talk about?" He struggled to think any topic but came short. He supposed it wouldn't be so bad to listen to his sister's ideas.

"Well do you think mom will allow you to go out of the house for a bit?" Maybe they could go somewhere and talk or go out for dinner or something. It had been a long time since he had gotten out of the house.

"We can try," he answered. He also wished to be out of the house, away from the drama. "Are you actually taking me out to a supper for once?" This day was full of surprises.

"If you want." She took her hand away from his leg and smiled at him. The ice was finally breaking from underneath them and maybe they could be friends again.

"Alright, what kind of restaurant?" He wasn't going to be surprised if a fast food place was in order. Then he mildly wondered if that kind of greasy food would make his sickness worse or better.

"Your choice." A small smile appeared across her lips as she knew this was going to be a turning point for the two finally. Would their mom allow them to go though? He did need to get out of the house.

"Steak, I could kill for some steak," he said jokingly. After all, with a trip to the hospital in order, it would probably be his last. "And then we'll go to a movie, and then we'll run away from home,...and then...I don't know..." it was also a joke to pass the time but he knew his situation wouldn't get better without a doctor.

A small smile appeared on her lips when he started joking again. "There's the brother I used to know." She said looking at the door wondering what her mother was doing. He did need to get out of the house for a little while since he had been cooped up for a long time.
