Stranded in the Wilderness - YellowJackets-Adjacent Survival

Okay so this is really more of a thought experiment than an actual request. I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather the last few days and worked through all my bingeable shows and finally got into “YellowJackets”, which for the u initiated is about a team of high school soccer players who survive a plane crash on their way to Nationals, only to have all sorts of fucked up experiences in the 19 months they have to survive in the wilderness.

I think this is a cool as fuck concept and would love to play it out (with or without supernatural elements, but I think it would be more fun with them).  But I can’t for the life of me wrap my mind around how one would organize this. Would you need a core GM? A few Co-GMs? Weekly events that everyone would have to work through? Would there be a system that could help shape this?

Has anyone ever written or participated I. A game like this, or know if any that existed here on E? I’d love to see an example of this working.
