Hello Elliquiy! It's that's time once again: when the Blood on the Clocktower crew slowly creeps out from their underground lairs, whispering from the darkness at any that will listen. We're like Pennywise, but probably with more teeth since there's 13 of us.

Our eighth season is drawing close to a tense conclusion, so we're looking for fresh meat to fill the seats for Season 9. If you've ever felt enticed by any of the previous ads but didn't think you would be able to get up to speed in time, or if this is your first time seeing this and you're curious about what we've got going on, then I've got good news for you: Season 9 will be the debut of @Ket as the Storyteller. It's the perfect opportunity for a new player to test the waters, especially with Ket running Trouble Brewing, Blood on the Clocktower's recommended script for those learning the game.

Our board is HERE. If you're interested, reply here or find our Season 9 sign up thread on our little corner of Elliquiy. We've put together a few resources to help new players get familiar with how we run the game. There's also always the option of going back and reading over any of the 8 previous games to watch everyone slowly spiral into madness and then smile and pat everyone else on the back once it's all over. Blood on the Clocktower also has a wonderful Wiki Page that offers advice on a few ways that you can approach any role that you might be given or how to pretend to be a role that you're not.

Hope to see a few new faces when Season 9 starts!

I'd definitely be interested in this.  I literally was just trolling... I mean browsing through the GMs wanting players board and happened across the original recruitment tread from like eight months ago, and was lamenting I'd missed out.  This sounds complicated, but fun at the same time.  Just to let everyone know, I'm visually impaired in my everyday life, but the rules didn't mention anything specifically about needing vision for any of the rules to function, so hopefully I can play along with this okay.  Looking forward to it!  :)

Going off to read up on rules now, and thanks for including a link to the board.

The only visual element of the game that we use is the seating, which can just as easily be communicated in text as it can in an image. Everyone is essentially sat in a big, virtual circle and a few abilities offer information about neighbors or where Demons and Minions might be sitting in relation to each other. The seating will also determine voting order.

If you do decide to join us, be sure to drop by the Season 9 sign-up thread so Ket knows how many players she needs to plan for.

Thanks for the explanation, and glad I'll be able to play.  Already put my name in the hat, once I found the right thread on the group board page.  :)

I just saw an ad for this LIVE in my little town and had no clue what it was,

Hey! We are currently knee deep in the shit on Day Three of our current game. Feel free to lurk, looky-loo, or be a general voyeur while we continue playing. If you're interested in joining up for next season, I'm making my first run at storytelling, and the script is going to be a bit...different. But! No less fun and stress-inducing!

If you'd like some material to look over to get the general feel for the game, check out this fun video, or you can check out the Blood on the Clocktower Wiki.

I'll be posting a copy of the script I'm going to be using when it gets closer to time to roll it out, that way everyone can have an idea of just what the hell they're going to be working with. If you have any questions about anything, or if you want to come say hello, feel free to pop in the OOC chat!

CALLING ALL LYING LIARS AND SNEAKY SNAKES!

Season 9 of Blood on the Clocktower has officially come to an end, and season 10 is juuuust about ready to kick off!

Not all Storytellers use themes for their seasons, but I'm extra, as the kids say, and season 10 will be themed around the world of Westeros! If you've ever dreamed of slaughtering your way to the Iron Throne, now's your chance!

Don't miss the debut of yours truly as the Storyteller, with a brand new, never-before-seen-on-E script that's sure to make you want to jump off the tallest building be a ton of fun!

The script we will be using for season 10 is posted here, just begging for some scrutiny. Give it a once-over, as well as all of the other informative topics found on our Blood on the Clocktower board. If you have any questions about anything you see, please feel free to reach out to me, or drop by the OOC chat and ask the group at large. We're a murderous lot, but we'll make sure you understand precisely what's going on while we stick it in and twist it!

Whether you've been lurking and you're finally ready to jump in, or you've never seen this before and you're curious how on earth a social deduction game works on an online forum, you've got until Sunday, August 4th because we are kicking things off on Monday, August 5th. So get your ass in gear and join us for some socializing, some deducing, but, most importantly, for some...

MUR DER! MUR DER! MUR DER!

We are now accepting new players for Season 11!

After personally thwarting the Psychopath in a vicious clash of Roshambo and slaying the many-tentacled Demon, King Remiel has brought peace to the lands of Clocktower Westeros and now rides off into the sunset with his trusted Ogre. Trust me, that sentence makes perfect sense if you were one of our wonderful Season 10 players. :P

Season 10 is in the books and Good Team has recorded another victory (it's now 6 Good victories to Evil's 4 if you're the type that likes stats.) @Remiel will be putting aside the crown and picking up the title of Storyteller this season. Season 11 promises to be one of the more head-scratching games that we've put together, and it features a custom script crafted by Remiel that can be viewed HERE. The sign-up thread is HERE, or you can express your intent to play here in the thread.

We have enough players to launch Season 11, but we can fit another two or three players onto the roster if anyone would like to join. There isn't a concrete starting time just yet, but Remiel has said he'll be kicking things off in "about a week" so that's how long you have before we close things up and get back to murdering and lying to each other.

As always, we have plenty of resources to help people grasp the fundamentals of the game on our board. There's a very useful wiki that I'll link HERE (it's also linked in several places on our board) that offers advice on potential ways to play a role or bluff as a role. Our players are more than happy to help anyone out before the game begins, and once the game has started, the Storyteller is always one private message away to fairly and impartially answer any questions. And if you're still left feeling like you have no idea what is going on, then I'll just point you at @Envious and @Mythril who are constantly lamenting about how bad they are but who still keep coming back for more (and winning!) :P

A few things to keep in mind before committing:

- This is a social deduction game. People are going to lie to you. People are going to disagree with you. People are going to accuse you of lying, sometimes even if you aren't. Please be able to recognize and accept that no one means anything by it and that it's just a game.

- We ask that everyone be able to check in at least once every 24 hours. This isn't a game that requires writing, so sometimes all we need from our players is something as simple as a post that says Yes or No. That said, the more you participate, the more fun you'll have. Forming plans and alliances in private, trading information, making wild accusations, and crafting your own theories about what the heck is going on is where the real meat and potatoes of the game is found, not in the mechanical stuff that the Storyteller is handling.

Remiel

Do you like Mafia games?  Do you like logic puzzles?  Do you like mysteries?

Do you fancy yourself the world's greatest detective?  Alternatively, does the thought of mayhem and murder appeal to you?

Join our group!

Blood on the Clocktower is, in my opinion, the best Mafia game I've played.  Why?  Because the fun doesn't stop once you're dead!  You still get to plot, scheme, and lie--and you get one critical "ghost vote" you can still cast!

Seriously, join our group.  It's ever so much fun! (said in the "Shining" Grady twins voice)

Season 11 is approaching a conclusion, so it's time for the Clocktower gang to start patrolling the streets once again in search of poor souls to add to our ranks. We're 1 year old now and hoping to make it to 2. :-)

Season 12 will be hosted by myself. All the relevant information about the script we'll be using this season is in the sign up thread located HERE.

As always, the Clocktower Wiki is available to inform and offer advice about the different ways to play as and against each role. Our board also has a slightly modified version of the rules that will walk you through how the game is run. There's no right or wrong way to play Clocktower, and our group of lovely folks will always welcome you back, so don't feel like you need to show up knowing everything. The only person that needs to know all the ins and outs is the Storyteller (me) and I'll always be around to answer any questions before or during the game.

I'd also like to add that we're now hosting Spyfall as well, which is being run by Galactic Druid. The first game is already up and running, but if Spyfall happens to be your jam, stop by, say hello, and get a spot reserved for the next game. :-)

Our 11th season has officially wrapped up and Evil Team has broken the winning streak that Good was putting together. Can Evil tie the record at 6 to 6 by coming away with another win in Season 12, or can Good stop them and put a little padding on their shrinking lead?

Season 12 has been given an October 31st start date. If you're interested, be sure to head over to the sign up thread and make your voice heard before then. We already have 11 players locked in and ready to go, so we can fit in up to 4 more interested players. :-)

Since it's been awhile since we've brought it up, I'd like to mention again that this isn't a game that requires writing. Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game, so it's basically just chatting but with rules and voting (everyone's two favorite things!) We do ask that everyone that wants to play be able to commit to checking in at least once every 24 hours to make sure that they aren't holding things up for everyone else. Most of the time, the only thing required of players is a simple Yes or No when it's your turn to vote, but you'll get far more enjoyment out of the game if you engage in the private messages where players make their deals and lie through their teeth at each other.

Season 13 is now recruiting!

Season 12 was a roller coaster that ultimately ended up going the way of Good Team. And with Season 12 wrapped up, our little group is once again opening the doors to anyone that wants to join the club and get up to some social deduction hijinks here on Elliquiy.

The sign-up thread is HERE. @Ket will be our Storyteller this time around. She's currently taking suggestions on which script to run, so if you happen to be familiar with Clocktower, maybe you can talk her into running that script you've always wanted to see in action. Or, if we get some newcomers to Clocktower on board, maybe we can convince her to do something simple. :P

Season 14 is now recruiting!

The Clocktower Crew has arrived in 2025! Come join us for some social deduction shenanigans here on Elliquiy. Blood on the Clocktower is the world's greatest social deduction game and is really starting to gain steam online as more and more people try it out. Just check out YouTube and you're bound to find your favorite geek playing in a game. :P

Our newest sign up thread is HERE. The rules that we put together for our online version of this can be found HERE. Blood on the Clocktower has a very helpful wiki HERE that'll explain the roles we're using this season in a little more depth and offer some advice on the different ways that you can play them or ways to convincingly bluff as those roles. If you have any questions at all, our little group has become pretty knowledgeable over the course of 14 seasons and we'll happily help you out. During the game, the Storyteller (that's me for Season 14) can privately and impartially answer any questions you might have as well.

We do ask that everyone that is interested be able to check into Elliquiy at least once every 24 hours to keep things moving. There's no writing required (although we do have themes on some of our seasons just for fun) and sometimes all that we need from you is 5 seconds of your time to type the word "Yes" or "No". The more you chat, plot, lie, and backstab though, the more fun you'll have. :-)

Hatless

Season 15 is now recruiting!

Just in time for Valentine's Day! For fun, Season 15 is going to embrace the romance with a dating show theme and a script with all the vague sexual innuendo that I could summon. It should make for some silly and lighthearted fun while everyone goes about the usual Clocktower business of being unreasonably paranoid of everyone. :-)

If you're interested, you can sign up in this thread or in the thread on our board.

Just as a reminder, we do ask that players be able to check Elliquiy at least once every 24 hours. This is not a writing intensive game. Come chat, throw some wild accusations around, and check in to make sure you're not missing a vote; that's all we want from you.

If you're worried about not knowing how to play, we have plenty of resources to help you out (not to mention the numerous games available to watch on YouTube) and a great crew of veterans that can help you out. And the great thing about Clocktower is that there's a Storyteller that doesn't participate in the game (that's me, Hatless) who will be there to answer as many questions as you need answered.

@Dragongoddess I think you need to check this out. I feel like it might be something you'd enjoy!
