Hello! How are you?

I'll start by with a little bit about me.
My gender: I am cis-male.
My characters: Usually male. But I am no stranger to playing female characters either.
My genres: I am flexible. I'm usually partial for fantasy, space operas or cyberpunk, but I also dabble to slice of life, modern crime drama, postapocalyptic. I can work with a lot.

Partner's preferred gender: Female, or feminine-presenting.
Partner's characters: I'm not interested in M/M romance. Other than that, can be pretty much anything.

Preferred writing style: Third person in past tense
Preferred post length: 2-3 short paragraphs or longer. Generally I hope to be dynamic and use "sufficient" post length. Writing long if there's a lot to say, but I would rather not force it. I prefer a short, compact paragraph that gets the story forward than a long post full of padding just for the sake of a quota.
Preferred post frequency: At least 1-2 times a week. Announced absences nonwithstanding.

Original/D&D-esque fantasy

MC: An adventurer/mercenary
YC: A young peasant woman

A group of good-natured adventurers/mercenaries save a village from raiding marauders. MC saves YC during the battle and departs to continue the fight. Later after the battle is done it is discovered that MC has been wounded in the action. The village does not have an official infirmary, so the adventurers ask YC's father if they could rest and recuperate at your homestead. Grateful for the help with the attackers the man accepts. During their recovery MC is often tended to by YC. The two develop a mutual crush for each other. Where does it go from there..?

Alliance

MC: A tribal warrior chieftain's son
YC: Another tribe chieftain's orc daughter

Two nomadic warlike tribes from a harsh land have been on each other’s throats for a while now. After years of rivalry and even war, both chieftains agree that their situation is detrimental to both if it continues, so they agree on a marriage of their eldest children. MC, son of human chieftain of tribe 1 isn’t thrilled, considering that his bride (YC) is an orc girl who their folk describe as ugly. But it turns out the beauty standards of the two species are quite different, and he finds her quite cute, tusks nonwithstanding. YC has her reservations about the plan too, but is a warrior like the rest. Does she start defiant or determined to just do as the tribe requires? Maybe the two can make this work?

Gratitude

Orc-blooded MC is walking away from a battle in which he received serious wounds. Just as he passes out, YC an elf druid (or other with healing powers) finds and takes pity on him, despite the fact how they’ve been warned about orc-blooded being vicious beasts. She takes the orc to a cave forshelter and tends to his injuries. The orc-blooded eventually wakes up after the weather has turned into a storm. His demeanour quickly subverts all the elf's beliefs about his kin, and the stormy weather starts to bring them closer together…

MC and YC: Classmates at a college/university for mages

A class at a university for magic and spellcraft. Two wizard students, MC and YC are assigned as a pair to do a shared presentation. They might be friends who grouped up willingly, or maybe they haven't really interacted/are rivals, but got assigned together due to skipping the previous class. Either way, during their research a surge of rebellious spirit and the frustration at the limitations of the non-restricted section of the library, the pair sneaks into the restricted section and comes across a discovery... "Carywen's Tome of Love and Lust Magicks"

After initial bewilderment, curiosity wins out for both of them, and science ensues...

The Pact

MC: An incubus
YC: A desperate wife

A young woman’s (YC) husband is dying of an illness. None of the alchemists, priests, shamans or any other healers have managed to help him, so the woman turns to desperate measures. At the risk of execution she turns to demonology and summons a demon (MC) known to have powerful healing powers. The issue is, this demon is a seductive incubus. Attractive enough to entice one just by the sight of him, capable of breathing pheromone mist that is known to temporarily send any mortal to incredibly intense state of lust where their own hand just doesn’t satisfy them. And demons never do favours for free… The woman doesn’t want to sleep with the demon though, and seeks for alternatives. The incubus is amused by her gall and makes an offer. If she can either beat him in combat, or withstand his mist without seeking relief from him for an hour, he will cure the husband for free. Will she give in and take the demon in her, or does she demonstrate incredible restraint to the end?

The Spawn

Dynamic: GM/Player

This story is a sequel to The Pact which assumes that the wife eventually gave in to her inhuman lust. Player character is either a son (half-incubus) or daughter (half-succubus) that resulted in that joining. While the half-demon offspring can feed on human food and does not need to have sex to survive, having the demon’s blood in them does grant them natural affinity to dark magic, as well as an inhumanly potent libido. The half-demon spawn will have been fed potion through adolescence, by the parents and the help of an alchemist and a compassionate priest, to keep those instincts in check. But one day when the spawn is nearing 20 years of age, marauders sack the village they live in. Everyone knowing about the potion and how it’s made perished. The spawn must now enter a world where revealing their identity would be risky and possibly get a mob after them, all the while having to deal with their dark urges… A plot more open for ideas on where to take it.

The Loyal Knight

MC: A veteran knight working as a personal bodyguard for YC
YC: A princess of a small nation

While there are no laws against it, tradition dictates that a member of the royal family should not marry anywhere lower than nobility. At 18 years of age the princess’ father, the king has already tried to have her wed for a few years now, but she wants to be in control of her own fate. She wants to marry out of love, and her heart is set on someone else. A knight who works as her royal protector.

The Knight meanwhile finds it difficult to lie to himself that he hasn’t grown attachment and attraction to the princess. She is beyond beautiful and the knight finds her determined and headstrong personality admirable. He feels like he is falling for her, but he has sworn an oath to be her protector, which includes protecting her “purity”. To embrace her such would be a betrayal to his oath and liege…

Slice of Life

Intended tone: Angst-to-fun-to-romantic

MC: Frontman of YC’s (fictional) favourite band
YC: Young lady at a rock/metal festival who catches her douche boyfriend cheating on her

YCs boyfriend (or girlfriend) is with YC at a music festival. YC is excited about seeing several bands, artists, spectacles and other shows, but the partner seems more interested in getting wasted, as per usual. After an argument YC heads out to see their favourite band and catches the partner cheating with another festival goer upon returning. YC is enraged and seeks out a place to process. She is found by none other than MC, who is the frontman of your favourite band, headed out to enjoy the rest of the festival and its shows. Finding out what happened he feels bad for YC and wants to cheer her up, keeping her company, and maybe even inviting her to visit the tour bus…

Flowers on Scorched Earth

MC: A wounded soldier in a field hospital
YC: A field nurse

I have two variations in mind that I didn’t feel needed a different entry. The main gist is simple. A soldier during World War 2 is wounded and ends up being treated at a field hospital where a field nurse tends to him, and the two find comfort in each other. The theater of war, location and nationalities of the characters are negotiable. I am also open to the chance of language barrier forcing the two to get creative and expressive with their communication.

Version A: MC is with a liberating army, such as the Allied forces in Europe.
Version B: MC is one of occupying forces, getting treated for ethical reasons as a prisoner of war. Opens a chance for a “forbidden romance” angle.

Cyberpunk

A Pet Rat

Intended tone: dark, gritty, Tech-Noir

MC: A successful corporate executive
YC: A petty criminal from the streets

A young street-punk does what they have to to survive in a dystopia where human rights are casually ignored, your body is part machine, corporations control governments, new bodyparts are on market shelves and your value is measured in currency. YC tried to grab a wallet with credit chips in it from someone rich-looking (MC), but ended up getting caught and thrown in their car. Corporate bigwigs are usually so rich that they can do whatever the hell they please, so YC begins to believe it’s all over for them, but looking you over this suit seems to have other plans. YC will be spared from jail or death in exchange of service as a maid taking care of his penthouse. She however finds out swiftly that there is more to this maid job than just cleaning…

(With this prompt I’d like to use the cyberpunk setting to not only establish the dominance of the rich, but also experiment with body augmentations for sexual purposes, like a penis that can be bent at will, vibrator functions in limbs or temporary limb removal as a form of punishment).

YC: An unfortunate collateral victim of corporate power struggle

YC’s biologist parent invents a new, revolutionary drug under the benefit of the corporation they work on, which would surely take your family to riches. Unfortunately the word spreads to the wrong person and before the corporation can secure the drug and your family, a rival corporation sends its mercenaries to steal the drug and kill your family. Your parents are killed, but you cheat death. Having been used to a relatively secure life, you are thrown in the streets of a dystopian city that doesn’t care about you. You are penniless, so you are nothing. In the gutter you don’t matter. Except to those who embrace the gutter as home. YC by chance runs into MC, a street gang leader or enforcer who takes pity on you and teaches you to survive on the streets, and to perhaps discover that freedom from the status quo can feel oddly liberating…

Couriers in Oblivion (Fandom: Barotrauma)

MC & YC: Crewmates on a submarine

In 1610, Galileo Galilei discovered Europa, one of Jupiter’s many moons.

In the 20th century, astronomers began speculating that Europa may have had a massive ocean under its icy sheet, that may have been able to support life.

In the 21th century, the first microbial lifeforms on Europa were confirmed. In the following years, an entire massive underwater ecosystem was discovered. Unfortunately most of this life was hostile and extremely dangerous, to a degree never seen on modern fauna back on Earth.

Despite this, the oceans of Europa were colonized by Earth’s humans. The many different colonies formed The Europa Coalition, which was at first a trade union between said colonies, but in time became a sovereign power of its own when sentiment of an “independent Europa” grew. At some point, all contact to Earth was lost for reasons yet unknown. With the possibility of there not being a homeworld to return to, the Europa Coalition’s role as the ruling body of humanity on the moon became all the more prominent. Even so, there are powers who are not so keen to bow to its authoritarian rule…

Essential to everyone’s survival on Europa are the submarines. Crew-operated vehicles that haul goods, haul people, gather materials and hunt the hostile fauna of the oceans. With plenty high risk jobs available for the subs in the monster-infested waters, being a submariner on Europa is both the most lucrative and the most stressful and dangerous job imaginable, and it is in one of these claustrophobia inducing machines that the “couriers in oblivion” must find ways to keep going and fight the stress and dread in any means necessary.

Never Alone (Fandom: Mass Effect)

Intended tone: Gritty, sad, scary(?), bittersweet, wholesome

MC & YC: A Turian guard & A young human

Inspired by a series of NPC dialogue from Mass Effect 3, between a human teen escaping war and chatting with a turian dock guard during the Citadel's refugee crisis.

It is a series of dialogues between these minor characters that you don't participate in, but can overhear. A stressed out turian guard's attention is caught by a lone human teenager amongst the refugees. The girl says that she is on her own for now, as her parents couldn't fit in the evac shuttle that she managed to get into, telling her that they'd be coming after her in no time. The girl's naivete and/or denial doesn't allow herself to be scared, but the clerk already fears the worst. However, he tells the girl to come to him if anyone gives her trouble.

In the discussions following at later visits, the turian asks the girl about her wellbeing and if there's been a word of the parents. As the parents never arrive, you can hear the girl's hope and denial falter and acceptance slowly sink in, that her parents are most likely not coming back to her.

The eventual fate of these two is left a mystery. So that's what I was hoping to play around with. In my head, the turian keeps helping the girl out and even offering her a place to stay, and maybe... love sparks between the two very different creatures.

Turians roughly age similarly to humans and usually do mandatory military at least from 15 to 30 of age, so there's a good chance that there's a considerable age difference between the two, which could be a factor for a more taboo relationship. He can be de-aged however. Perhaps he has a disability, illness or an injury that prevents him from fighting a war efficiently, so that he's gotten discharged and offered a guard job more accomodating for his needs. Or maybe he did something and got dishonourably discharged? Possibilities are plenty.

I'm open to adding twists in the dynamic.

The Reach (Fandom: Mass Effect - Group game? Multi-character?)

Intended tone: Epic, exciting, steamy, bittersweet, wholesome[/color]

MC & YC: A Turian Captain & Asari/Human/Quarian/Turian crewmate.

Set a decade or two after the trilogy. The Reaper threat is over and the many peoples of the galaxy are settling in. The damage done to the Mass Relays have forced a lot of societies to adapt and become more self-sufficient, as galactic travel is considerably hindered. However, repairs are underway. In the time after the reapers the relays have not been repaired completely, but enough to provide a limited amount of energy, capable of creating reactions to launch smaller ships, the available sizes increasing bit by bit. Dreadnoughts don't jump yet, but small frigates have recently made succesful launches. This has increased the role of and demand for smaller vessels in galactic exploration and trade, paving way for a new collective of task forces called "The Reach", who are taking on the roles as the vanguard of the re-kindlement of galactic relations. They might act as traders, diplomats, security forces or seekers of ancient technology that could aid accelerate the rebuild efforts of the relays.

The story itself would take place in one of the Reach -vessels that can often be operated with a mixed -species crew. Style of story would be something we can expect from a Mass Effect -story. Action, adventure, drama, romance, sex, calibrations, all the good stuff!

I have a google doc in which I've been writing a fan setting around this simply as a pastime, but I've never actually pitched it for RP anywhere public.
