Incomplete Ideas

I have a vague memory of an idea back in the day for a thread that allows people to share story ideas or incomplete thoughts to be used by others... or completed by others. Make sense? (Same GT. Same problems articulating a question. Different year). My scattered memories tell me that there was such a thread but it could also be something myself or someone else was suggesting as those days were full of new ideas for E. Anyone remember?


On the flip side, if it does not exist, where would be the best place to share ideas? My ons and offs? I don't think the wanted board is appropriate. Some ideas would be for anyone to use (that I'd love to read), some would be incomplete ideas I'd like to try if someone would like to collaborate with me to make it an actual useable story.

I know there is at least one or two threads in the Finders and Seekers thread under the Art, Media and Music section.  I don't think I've seen it added to recently so you may have to page back a few to find it.  That's the only ones I know off hand, not sure if there is any others in any other sections.

That thread is all pretty much full ideas.... pictures included! I was looking for more of a thread where you would simply edit your own post instead of filling the entire topic with multiple posts by one person. Does that make sense? Kind of how the wanted board is, but not a board, just a simple thread.


The Finders/Seekers one is more for images, at least that is how it felt. I mean my very own werewolf thread is housed there.


I don't believe Ons and Offs would be appropriate because of the incessant bumping. Some of us get a handful of incomplete ideas every time we log on and some people like to self-promote with bumping, A LOT. The rules in place for O/Os wouldn't cover additions of ideas/subsequent bumps. It could start a slippery slope... 2023 GT is not trying to do that kind of stuff anymore!

It does indeed sound fun, and I do like that idea, but it's still different from what I was trying to explain.

Steelsmiter mentioned the word crowdsourcing, which is right on track with what I am trying to explain. A snippet of my response to him is

We need a place that allows us to crowdsource (great way to put it). But I think we all need our own thread, like the ons and offs so no one's post gets lost

Does this exist anywhere? Or could we get it somewhere?

So OP for this thread recommended I extend my crowdsourcing here, as I have an idea to do a Choose Your Own Adventure about a girl who is a bit of an airhead and has both shenanigans and trouble (up to and including NC) because of it. From what I gather of CYOA you need a story thread, and a voting thread, but I'm not really to the point where I even have anything to vote on other than perhaps system or non-system (or system blind, where I put a sheet in worldbuilding and only reference it for my own purposes) Here is the brainstorming thread, which may become a voting thread at some point.

Could it maybe fit in world-building? I know people put their not finished ideas and you *can* allow other people to post there if you want to, but you dont have to.

Created and inundated by said author with tons of full ideas. There is nothing wrong with that, but it isn't what I'm looking for :(


Edit to add: I want to say that Paradox had the idea, or maybe even Capt, but I don't recall if it ever took off or if it did it just got lost.
