Lemon Lime

Hi everyone, welcome to my idea thread!
If you would like to get to know more about me and what revs my engine check out my O/O’s here. Not all of these ideas are perfectly formed and even the ideas that seem formed can still be edited to meet our needs. Check it all out and if you’re interested in any of them or if you have an idea not here that you think I would like and want to write with me… please PM me. Do Not Post Here!

What you can expect from me:
Well thought out descriptive posts. I will do my best to post at least once a week. If for some reason it takes longer, I will reach out. Communication is essential on both of our parts. I enjoy having OOC chats with my writing partners, it helps keep the communication open. While I like OOC chat I’m not looking for a romantic partner and I’m not super comfortable sharing personal details about myself, but I don’t mind chit-chat and friendship at all. I only RP on forums but will chat in PMs or on discord. Understand that I don’t necessarily like “face claims”. I will use illustrations, or pictures of models as reference for characters but don’t require it. I will not use anime art or celebrities and would ask you to do the same.

What I expect from my partners:
Putting effort into posts written in black or other dark colors (I enjoy dressing up my posts like this with color but light colors are hard to read). You don’t need to write a novel, but single-lines or giving me posts that don’t further the plot are frustrating and not fun for me. Decent grammar, once again it doesn’t need to be perfect – mine won’t be, but at least do some basic editing. Communication! Please let me know if you want to change things, need more time to post, or are just not feeling it anymore. I will not take it personally if you have fallen out of love with the story or the characters.  Don’t control my character without my consent (or NPC’s that I have created specifically for my character, like a handmaiden, best friend, etc.). If you want to move people around to find that a certain scene needs to go in a certain direction, let me know and I’ll give you my good to go. If you can’t get ahold of me and want to post, I’ll let you know if I’m not comfortable with something.

When I'm most active:
Mostly evenings! I am in EST (UTC-05:00) and work full time. Most of my posting is in the evening and weekends. Sometimes if my work is slow, I can respond during the day but that is not common.

My frequency:
My goal is to post at least once a week and at most once every 10 days. Sometimes I post more if I’m really feeling the story or less if life is stressful. As for length, I usually do a few paragraphs but it can vary based on what’s happening. Sometimes I wax poetic for many pages, sometimes it’s a bit more succinct.

My preferred frequency from my partner:
I ask for once a week or once every 10 days. If you need more time, then let me know during story planning! I’m a fairly patient person so I won’t be constantly harassing you. If you tell me once a week, I might send a message on day 9 or 10 and just make sure you’re alright. If it becomes a habit I may reconsider the writing partnership, as I said above communication is important and I understand life happens – so let me know if you need a break or anything! As for length I’d ask for whatever makes sense, isn’t too short, helps move the scene, and helps describe the mood/atmosphere/look/etc. If it takes a few paragraphs or a few thousand words is up to you. I just want something to work with.

I don’t like pushover characters. Characters with no spine, or characters whose whole personality is, “whatever you want”. It’s frustrating and boring. I also don’t like needlessly cruel characters or characters whose only goal is to get laid. I love romance, romance book tropes, and tall dark handsome/beautiful heroes. Characters with depth, feelings, passions, anxieties, flaws, trauma, goals… it’s important! For certain fantasy settings certain things are different because we are suspending reality for parts of our fiction, but that doesn’t mean our characters have to be 1-dimensional. I tend to play F/M pairings but I’m open to F/F or F/Trans-F (trans women are women but I wanted to add this to let folks know I’m open to it). I don’t like M/M pairings – I like to read them not write them. Your IRL gender is irrelevant to the gender you will be playing – as long as you play the character’s gender well, that’s what matters.

Below are ideas along with a section called, “Questions to consider” which is something I do to help spark ideas and conversation. Some of the ideas are more fleshed out than others and nothing is completely set in stone. I’m happy to discuss things/concepts/ideas and shape things to fit our styles and what we want.

A Love Long Lost
Themes: Long lost friends, war, making their own way, reuniting, royalty

No village is exempt from sending their fighting men and sometimes boys, off to serve their kingdom in a time of war. A young boy and girl are close friends. Growing up together, playing together, and living a blissful farm life as youths in the North – far from the fighting. But even the most distant of villages have to pay their dues. The boy is taken for the king’s army. He is proud to help protect his home but sad to leave his friends and family. Years go by. Letters become fewer and fewer. The girl becomes a woman, a healer in her village and someone who catches the eye of potential suitors. Eventually the village is sacked by invaders – many escaped and are able to make their home as refugees closer to the capital or in the capital itself. Refugees have a tough time, seeing some persecution, but are happy to be alive, as is the girl.

Fortunately, due to her abilities she receives a position in the royal estate as an apprentice to their healer. She works hard, proves herself, and understands that while this isn’t the most ideal situation she is happy to be working and doing well. A little more time goes by and one day she is called to tend to a new duke. Bringing her basket of supplies to treat some wounds of this new royal she is surprised to see the Prince there. Apparently this man had saved the prince’s life and is why he was getting this new title as well as land. The girl is happy to hear about this, but as this new man is introduced she drops her supplies. This new duke was the boy from her village. Now a tall, scarred man, who had clearly seen the hell of battle. Both are in shock… what is their relationship like now? Who have they both become?

This story would take place at the two of them re-meeting. I’d prefer to write “the girl” role but I’m open to either. We could adjust this as we see fit, maybe she is assigned as a maid/healer/whatever at his new estate and when he moves in she’s there and working for him. We can talk it out and decide what we like best and what works best.

Questions to consider: Does he remember her? Has he been betrothed to anyone? Has she? What has the war done to him? Is he still handsome and happy or grizzled and jaded? What did fleeing her burning village do to her? Did their families survive the sacking of the village?

A Villian and an Ally
Themes: Enemies to lovers, betrayal, war, resentment, wanting to be better

Their two peoples had always gotten along. Mostly. Some border disputes, trade issues, or just general disagreements. Their children were very young when an event was called to celebrate a holiday. It was to be the last time there was kindness between the two groups. That night, her father brutally murdered the other leader having made deals with a local barbarian warlord.

The assassination was recorded in history as one of the largest betrayals in the past 100 years. She grew up knowing her father chose marauders and barbarians that could help him add to his land than maintain peace. But as his daughter her opinions were disregarded, and she was just considered soft. She was smart, educated, and not too bad with a bow. Continuing to grow up and watch as her father grew more and more agitated and cruel. It became apparent that she was not the only one fed up with her father as one night, the barbarians they had been sided with attacked. With the help of some servants, and complete disregard of decorum, she was able to flee.

Grabbing a horse, she rode off into the night. Scared, injured, tired, and desperate to live. There was only one place to go. Running to her sworn enemy, to the people her father betrayed, and hoped they would take mercy on her or at least mercy for her people. It took her all night, all day but finally she made it to the front gates of the enemy castle. Soaked from sweat and rain, completely unkempt, wounded, and exhausted, she begged for an audience with the leader. Hoping the little boy she knew as a child had grown up to be a great and forgiving man. Dragged in by guards and thrown at the feet of a man who was her sworn enemy she let her head drop as she begged for help.

For this I would like to play the female role. I can see this having D/s elements but by no means would it be NC or extreme. Dubious consent at most.

Questions to consider: How old was he when his father was killed? Would he take mercy on her or find pleasure in being cruel? Was his father a good person/good leader or was it better that he got killed? Does he like being a ruler? What do each of these territories look like after the assassination? Do we want to do fantasy races (elves/humans/orcs)?

The Road Come Calling
Themes: Motorcycle club, down on her luck, old friends, criminal organizations, bad home life.

Growing up wasn’t so easy for her. Dad was in prison, mom was swinging back and forth between gambling and drugs, to mom of-the-year. Sometimes there was food on the table, other times she was going to school with a rumbling belly. Fortunately, she had a neighborhood friend who would look out for her. He was a few grades above her but knew she came from a bad house and he would do what he could when he could – sometimes it was packing extra food in his lunch for her or keeping bullies away. It helped that his father was the head of a local motorcycle club that was known for its no-nonsense attitude and criminal activity. The Hellions MC had a code and stuck to it. They took care of their people, stood up for the little guy, and let nothing get between them and their business. As she grew up, life had its ups and down but eventually she got a scholarship to a small local college for track and field which took her out of her shitty neighborhood, away from her toxic mother, and gave her an opportunity for a new life.

Wanting to help people, she became a nurse and upon graduation was able to get a job in an ER close to her old town where she was doing her best to help those in need, and really create a new life for herself. Things were looking up until one day when she was confronted in her apartment parking garage at night. Two men, grabbed her, slamming her up against her crappy car and gave her an ultimatum. They were from the Patterlies, a meth dealing family close to the outskirts of town that her mother had been “close” with. Apparently, her mom had racked up quite the debt, and was unable to pay. The Patterlies found her and when they realized her mom had no money, the daughter might (at least that’s what she assumes). The gangsters rough her up a bit and tell her to make her mother’s payments or, they will kill her mom and then put her “to work”. The thought of which made her cringe. Wanting this to end as soon as possible she does everything she can to make the payments. She sell’s her car, sells her TV/other electronics, skips meals, and works as much overtime as she can get. But she’s just barely scraping by making payments having to pay for things like rent, food, bills, and any other expense that comes up.

She’s exhausted and at her wit’s end but then she remembers her friend. He was essentially a criminal at this point, rising in the ranks of The Hellions. Not knowing what to do – she goes to him and begs for advice or help or anything. She has no one else to go to and if she goes to the cops, it will only get worse. He is her last hope.

I would prefer to play the female role but could do either.

Questions to consider: What was their relationship growing up, good friends, just friendly, something more? Did they keep in touch after high school? How criminal is the motorcycle club? Is he happy to see her again and wants to help or annoyed that she brought these problems to his doorstep?

Takes the Cake: A Romance Trope Story
Title: Takes the Cake
Themes: Mafia, fake dating/marriage, enemies to lovers, modern, forced proximity

He is the oldest son of a mob boss in their great city. They held a large portion of the city itself and their power was constantly challenged yet they stood strong. One of the reasons they were being challenged is because of his father being sick and dying. People knew he was going to pass soon, and the oldest child was seen as unprepared. However, he disagreed – he had been ready for this to happen, learning, watching, doing whatever he needed to do. But people saw him as a heartless thug with no morals. While that was the appearance he put on his mind was as sharp as ever.

But there is one rule for his family, his mob – you cannot become head of the family and be unmarried. It was an ancient rule but one they enforced harshly. While his father was estimated to have 6-12 months to live he was still very much a bachelor. A bachelor that many feared or only wanted for his money or connections. He didn’t want a vapid self-serving woman at his side he wanted a good partner, or at least someone that could put on the appearance. He only needed to be married to take the throne and stay married for a year, surely he could meet the one that would be able to do that… right?

She is a baker, dedicated to her craft and the bakery she worked at. The bakery was old, passed down through generations and a staple of their side of the city. The old woman and her daughters ran it and she was lucky enough to be one of the few non-relatives that worked there. One morning she is delivering a large, extravagant cake to a birthday party at a huge mansion, known to be the mob’s home. While they were a crime family, they did a lot of business with her bakery and were dedicated customers. She set up the cake, made sure it was nicely decorated, got the final payment from one of the guys and went back out to the bakery van.

That was when her cell phone went off. It was her landlord, she was about to be evicted. While the bakery paid decently, she had used almost all of her savings to pay for pastry chef school, and everything else had been for a wedding that never happened. Her ex cheated, she found out weeks before her wedding and it was called off. While that had been a year before she had been struggling to make ends meet. Now paying full rent without her fiancé and losing such a large chunk of money for a marriage that was never to be. Now her landlord was giving her a week to vacate or pay an exorbitant amount she didn’t have.

He had gone out to take a phone call and maybe get another look at the gorgeous baker that dropped off the cake when he heard her. She was crying, begging for him to give her more time and that she had no where else to go. Beautiful, no where to go, and probably not a gold digger.

The next day he went to the bakery and asked for her, hoping to take her to coffee or dinner, and give her an offer that would save them both.

I would like to play either role.

Questions to consider: How strong is her pride? Would she say no, and he must pursue her harder? Does she have other reasons not to align with him: was her ex in a different mob? Do they maybe know each other better than absolute strangers? Is he jaded about love and also heartbroken? How far are they willing to go to make this charade seem legit?

The Event: Can be adjusted to other settings
Name: The Event
Themes: Supernatural, werewolves, fated mates, modern setting (or we can discuss another)

He had been unlucky in love. More than just failing in love, he failed to find a mate. As the oldest child of the Laird pack Alpha, it was extremely important for him to be able to find someone so he could produce an heir and keep the pack going. However, he was reaching his mid-30’s at a time when he traditionally should have found his mate and had children by now. Instead, he was throwing himself into his work – running a brewery – and essentially giving up on finding someone and letting his younger sister, the next oldest, prepare to be alpha. His sister is still optimistic for him, but he has damn near given up.

Every year there was a huge event where unmated individuals could come together, meet and mingle. It was also a very political event where Alphas came together to discuss border issues, alliances, and make moves. As his Alpha’s predecessor he was required to attend but as an unmated man he was forced to stay and actually try to find his mate. The past few years he would make an appearance, do a circle around the room, and then leave to drink with the Alphas or his friends in a different area. Each year since he has turned 18 had gotten more and more depressing and now it just felt like a painful formality and reminder that he might not have a mate.

The event, also called the Tionόl would be closer to home this year in a nearby city, hosted at a beautiful estate with sprawling gardens, multiple rooms, the works. The hosting pack tended to go all-out for these things. It was black tie, and diverse groups and packs were always invited to help make sure that people could meet others outside their direct area and help increase the chances of finding your mate. It wasn’t uncommon for witch covens, shifters, or other supernatural’s to be invited. Although they were mostly invited to network with and make connections and other political moves.

While non-werewolves rarely got mated at these meetings it wasn’t unheard of. This year would be like any other, he thought to himself. Putting on his tux, he fixed his hair, and drove to the event getting their early. Shaking hands with anyone that was important, thanking the local Alpha for hosting, and wishing he could go back to his hotel already and get some work done. Instead, he got a drink and tried to fight off a growing headache. His mood was shifting, he was becoming agitated as the night grew and his father just smirked at him and told him to relax but soon, he was grabbing his coat and heading out, not wanting to be there anymore.

But he stopped in his tracks. His heart rate increased, mouth was dry, he flexed his hands as he felt a heat grow within him. A scent, it was intense and vibrant and instead he dropped his coat and followed it, not very far to a woman sitting alone and he stopped himself before grabbing her. It was her, his mate… and she was not what he expected.

Notes:
This is just the beginning; my thought was that the female character would be a witch or other supernatural creature or maybe from a rival pack. Something that would make this more difficult. Having her not be a wolf could give her the ability to also NOT feel the mating bond, or she feels it in a completely different way.

There will be werewolves but no sex in wolf-form (or any animal form). We can add certain features like knotting or whatnot in human form if that is something we are interested in.

I’m open to A/B/O dynamics but I’d want to discuss it further first.

I would prefer to play the Male character.

Questions to consider: Does she want a partner/mate? Is she already with someone? How does she feel about this semi-powerful man claiming that he is her mate? What political things could tear them apart? What do their families think of this? Why is she at the event to begin with?
