Search Function Is Down?

Every time I type something into the search bar it tells me:

"An error has occurred!

Unable to access the search daemon."

I remember this happening before. I think it's something to do with some kind of maintenance on the back end. I could be misremembering, but I remember a topic about this that was pretty much the exact same issue.
