The Lost Tomb of the Order of the Solomon

And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek
tongue hath his name Apollyon. One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard
a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are
bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay
the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus
I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were
as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

- Revelation 9:13-21

I’ve been toying with this idea for quite some time and think it could be an incredible fun idea. Basically the premise is your character (M/F/T) is an archeologist who is part of an excavation team digging up what legend has it were cells that contained fallen angels. A set of scrolls recently recovered in the Middle East tells of a secret society of religious zealots (think Templars, but a darker, more malevolent spin) who had imprisoned the fallen angels/demons in a tomb beneath the Euphrates river in an attempt to rid the world of their influence. They constructed a great cathedral beside the river to guard the entrance of the makeshift tomb to keep the horrors imprisoned beneath, but the order that once guarded the cathedral has long since died out and the cathedral itself was claimed by the sands of time, turning to ruin and then dust centuries ago.

Once thought to be myth, the discovery of the scrolls not only reveals the place to be real, but gives descriptions and hints on where it can be found. Following the clues in the scrolls the group your character works for finds a massive underground structure which houses six massive chambers. The company obtained the rights to excavate the structure despite protests from everyone from locals all the way up to the Catholic Church. Not being a one of superstition, the man who owned the company sought riches and artifacts within the structure that were rumored to be priceless.

As your character starts to lead the dig, numerous strange occurrences began to happen. At first it was blamed on poor luck or sabotage by those who sought to keep the secrets of the forgotten order buried away, but the events become more and more bizarre as the excavation continues. Members of the crew go missing, abandon the job altogether, or meet with a fatal end as the magics protecting the cathedral work to keep the creatures imprisoned below.

Throughout this story your character will meet a host of people who reveal more of what potentially resides inside the structure and warns them not to open the cells… but the team presses on. Each cell inside the structure houses a different fallen angel and/or demon. More ancient texts are found inside the structure detailing the creatures imprisoned within; demons of lust and vengeance, angels who rebelled against God, and all manner of supernatural creatures.

This would be run sort of as a GM game, though I don’t plan to include rolls or stats or anything of that nature, but it’ll be an open world story where your choices determine how things unfold. Inside the cells are a varying array of creatures, some are truly angels who had lost their way and regret their decisions, others are demons who wish to spread chaos and destruction on the world, tempting members of the crew into doing all manner of sacrilegious things to release the demons imprisoned deeper inside the structure.

Some of the themes that would likely be included are mind-breaking, coercion, non-con, paranormal, sacrilegious themes, dom/sub scenarios, and a host of similar types of things. This wouldn’t be for the faint of heart. Open the wrong cell and you unleash a succubus who has been imprisoned for thousands of years and craves the touch of mortal flesh, or a sinister entity that savors human suffering.

If this sounds at all like something you’d be interested in, please drop me a PM and we’ll discuss.

Additional Things:

Posting Rate:
Anyone who writes with me knows real life will always come first, so I’m hesitant to put a minimum requirement on this. There are times when I can post multiple times a day, but there are other times when work leaves me exhausted and I might not get a reply up for a few days. I just ask you at least be comfortable posting once or twice a week. More is welcomed, of course.

Writing Style:
I write in third person, past tense and I would prefer my partner do the same. I tried writing third person with someone writing first person once and it was very awkward and didn’t last too long.

Reply Length:
There are times when shorter posts are needed. If your character is asked a simple question, there isn’t much you can do besides answer it, but I always thing there are things you can do to flesh out a post. Take the opportunity to flesh out the character some, focus on developing the setting, give their reaction of what they’re thinking in the moment, etc. Again, I don’t have a minimum, but I think a 2-3 paragraphs at least as an average isn’t too much to ask. I always try to provide detail and depth with my posts and you’ll never catch me giving a 1-2 sentence reply. I simply ask the same.

Your Character:
This is open to males, females, transgender, and everything in between. I’m going to be playing most of the characters and entities you encounter during the story, so I’ll be playing an array of characters. I do prefer to keep it in the realm of realism, or at least as much realism as this kind of story allows.
