Mahou Onna Coven Crystelia (Recruitment Thread) (LBGTQ Friendly) (BESM 4th)

Hello, everyone! My co-DM TheHangedOne and I have devised a magical girl game using Big Eyes, Small Mouth 4th edition with the premise below. The interest check has gone well, so recruitment has been opened! :) We're still open to more people and are aiming for 4-5 PCs. If we get more though, we might just split them into groups. Below before the character sheet is the premise and additional notes for posterity. As always, feel free to ask questions :)

Premise
A group of various women across Earth at different points on the planet suddenly find that the next door they take certainly feels far faster than their typical walking speed. The space in front of the them seems to twist, almost like the reality around them in getting sucked into that point before spitting a new one out in the form of a fancy villa on a summer's day.

However, before the young women can think to run, their attention is drawn, simultaneously, to the strange woman in the robes, and the eye-concealing blindfold adorning her face. She glides across the ground, like a surreal phantasm, a bundle of wands clutched in soft, pale hands. "Please, be calm. All shall be revealed." She promises, words honey-sweet, smoothly soothing.

"I am called, by some, the Seer of Sages," she states in cool, crisp, clear language--a language which none of the gathered have heard before, and yet, which they understand--"But you may call me Alice."

"I have summoned you all here for our world teeters on the edge of destruction. My sisters and I, alone, are no longer enough to preserve the fragile balance." Words, once sweet, take on melancholic bitterness, with a touch of remorse. "Thus, we have sent our magics out into the multiverse, to search for those with the potential to shift the balance."

"And you, my dear ones, are those whom the spell has found. You are, all of you, uniquely gifted and blessed with strong souls; and under our tutelage, we shall teach you to tap into those fathomless wells of inner power, to manifest your own magic into the world."

"For the time being, we shall entrust these wands to you." As she says this, she begins to hand them out. They are small, supple sticks, made of various woods, built as a casing around a crystal core. As each of the young women takes a stick, they feel subtly guided--as if the choice is perhaps not their own--to pick the one wand that calls to them most strongly.

As each of the gathered take their wands, they feel a loving warmth; like being embraced by a good friend that one has not seen for too many years.  Despite whatever their hesitations they might have in the moment, this feels right. "Before we get into too many details, perhaps it is best we sit down for tea?"

And as they enter the villa to do so, the gathered can already see that they're not in Kansas anymore. A cat/rabbit hybrid creature watches from a patch of pink carrots; a flock of baby gryphons flies over head, as storm-grey clouds gather.

_Additional Notes_
-The game is quite yuri-centric with the loads of female characters, though relationships aren't required and Hanged has more experience playing guys as my co-gm. He also has experience in non-binaries like myself as well. :)
-The world they are now in is Gelegenheit, a fantasy reality of 5 nations separated by vast waters. The villa is on the border of the center-most nation, Echeveau.
-The core of their wands is a shard of crystallized soul (called a Progeny Crystal), gathered from a "Legendary First" (such as the First Vampire, or the First Pyromancer, or the First Warrior). These crystals call to specific individuals (hence why each person feels "guided" to pick the one they get), and bestows them powers associated with their domain. You will gain more on your journey to gain access to new powers as long as you keep them safe. As these shards have the essence of these firsts and you have a villain faction out to corrupt and collect them, it's easier said than done. Don't even get me started on the delightfully dangerous and sexy neutral party 🙂
-The tone will be to player taste, though admittedly Hanged and I swivel a bit more dark.
-We will have an OOC discord for rolls, sheets, and general discussion (Link must be requested by pm). However, there will still be an OOC thread here for announcements and updates, well as Elliquiy's Dicebot.

General Game Rules

No OOC drama. Seriously. If you have a problem, bring it to me. We are all adults here and able to separate character drama from player drama.
If you know you will be absent, please communicate with me.
Don't control the actions of anyone else, worry about your own character. IE, don’t godmode.
Post length is flexible but try to give people room to react to things without also skipping forward.
Posts should be made in third person. Please take into account spelling and grammar.
If you have a question, please don't hesitate to contact me or post in the OOC thread (or here, while the game is forming).

Character Creation Rules

-PCs must be women or non-binaries twenty-one and up. We are however open to exceptions like a character arriving presenting as male and coming to terms that the feminine or non-binary identity represents their soul better (tl;dr: We totally support coming out narratives! :) )
-The core of their wands is a shard of crystallized soul (called a Progeny Crystal), gathered from a "Legendary First" (such as the First Vampire, or the First Pyromancer, or the First Warrior). These crystals call to specific individuals (hence why each person feels "guided" to pick the one they get), and bestows them powers associated with their domain. Feel free to invent your crystal shard in this vein. A lot of the legendary firsts pertain to echos of human folklore, but please remember that since this based on Gelegenheit, you have lot of reign to be creative (especially when there aren't just humans there).
-Each character is 105 points. With the way we require you to pay for the default base stats (24p total, use them to make the base all 4's) and the magical girl template (60p total), you have about 21 points to use on other trainings and skills from your character's mundane life. We will gladly assist in character creation since BESM 4th is a lot.
-If you don't want to build the animal companion from the magical girl template, feel free to redirect those 12 points elsewhere.
-Set "Le Coven de L'Ombre" as the Nemesis from the template

I'm interested in this game, but I haven't used BESM 4th before and don't own a copy; I've played older editions such as tri-Stat and own a copy of BESM 3rd, so I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the system, would that be a problem?

I've been wondering about that, too.  I don't own a copy of BESM and was hoping there was an SRD or something online somewhere.

That won't be a problem. I can definitely assist you both through Discord (please ask from a pm or by pm of a link) and pms. Cherry, you actually have a leg up since 4th is like if they put 3rd through several more drafts and balanced it a lot in terms of point costs.
