I am strongly tempted to play a Palico, but that might be a bit too silly. Not entirely set on one particular race, yet, but staring at archetypes, and feeling drawn to both Dark Guardian (dark knight) and Choco Guardian(knight).

I'm feeling somewhat better, enough that I can actually start possibly recruiting. I'm seeing a lot of character ideas, and I love it. So let's go ahead and open it up!

Far as CC goes, I'm debating between a pretty strong point buy or 4d6 drop lowest reroll 1s for rolling stats. I think I like the idea of rolling, we're still gonna mostly end up pretty strong (but DM me if you roll obscenely low, it can happen, and I'll let you re-roll).
All Classes and Races allowed, but bear in mind that the following races are the most common and others will likely get a few stares: Human, Nu Mou, Bangaa, Seeq, Moogle, Viera, Garif
No restrictions on Languages, if you have high intelligence or the Linguistics skill, take whatever languages you want
Starting at level 1 since it's a bunch of new classes for me, I'd rather we start low.

Now, as for the plot:

CALLING ALL ADVENTURERS!

The Explorer's Guild of Archades calls upon all interested parties to join us on an expedition into the forgotten west of Archadia, where mysterious ruins have been uncovered. All hands and all skills are requested, from monster slaying to wood working to skilled cookery. Please see your local Explorer's Guild representative or Hunt Clan Master for further details.

It was the talk of every town in Archades. As if by magic, the advertisement had gone up on every notice board and hunt board in every town in the empire. It was one of Archades' secrets, a significant portion of the western lands of the empire were covered in jagd, preventing the great mechanical airships of Archades from flying over it. The wild, chaotic energies of the Mist prevented colonization efforts, leaving most to write off the west lands as useless and forgotten, only good for making Archades look bigger on the map. But someone had dared to dream a little bigger...someone dared to explore those forgotten lands.

Food, shelter, and of course compensation would be provided. The first expedition would be the ones to uncover whatever deep, dark secrets laid within those ruins...as well as whatever was guarding it too. Dare you brave the Mist?

Re roll before dropping lowest, basically, everything better be 2 or higher before you drop.

So, interesting thing hear. the description of Powerful Build on the races that have it differs from the Half giant entry from Dreamscarred where that originated. Basically it omits the line saying that the creature can wield weapons intended for a creature one size larger without penalty.

General Personality: Yule comes off as a person that's incredibly caring, yet notedly sad. That and her social awkward make her seem aloof, but she's honestly just a bit lost and meek. She seems truly devoted to the astral that is her goddess, but honestly still wonders what she did to be cast out like this.

Bio: Yule used to be a rather prominent prodigy in a group across the aegyl villages called the Cure Guard. They were monks that specialized in white magic and acted as missionaries for different villages when not combat medics for army support roles. However, in such a worship heavy group, there were many different gods and goddesses of air to follow. Yule in particular worshiped Valefor, a goddess of those who worshiped flight and freedom, that she praised for her flight and virtues. The skies felt truly as her home wherever she was.

However, it was just as easy to have members of more tainted gods and goddesses such as Pandemona and Garuda. They saw their fellow aegyl as weak due to her humble nature and their jealousy only fueled those notions all the more. In a journey to another village, they took the opportunity to do their worst by abandoning her for the pinnacle of moments in hailstorm. The shards of ice left her wings a ruffled, tattered form of what they once were among her battered body. Instead of mercy from the people she worked to help, they pushed her away from the communities she loved.

As of the present day, after several years of recovery, she has started to slowly reconnect with the forces she once had a bit differently. Her goal is find and  complete a service of worship at the temples of the various astrals with the almighty holy ground for the one she holds in her heart the most to be the last. However, she can't particularly do it on her own, but that was fortunately when all the advertisements seemed to spring up everywhere. Hence, Yule was willing to join them if it meant a proper passage in her pilgrimage.

Thinking about it, kind of yes. Slightly less weapons tech (black powder firearms and explosives) and slightly more transport/infrastructure. Nothing's as advanced as Midgar, no Mako Reactors (most "power" generation is in the form of Magicite, imagine if the Materia from 7 was used as batteries), and not a lot of war machines (most of the Golem type enemies are constructs made by a lost empire that have gone berserk). That said, Balthier had a hoverbike in his introduction in FF12, and Archades is noted as being more advanced than other civilizations so, feel free to go a little nuts with tech level (within reason).

Ok, so a Gunbreaker would still work, and since Magitek has been a thing in there would the Knowledge(technology) apply to that? Mostly because I was going to get a Racial trait for Hume that gave me the Technologist feat to go with the Gunbreaker feel.
