What’s the best (read ‘easiest’ because I ain’t tech savvy) to resize images on an iPad.  I haven’t had mine long.

Can easily resize, can select custom to get the dimension to fit the E avatar size. Otherwise most simple picture editing softwares can do it. Or.. just ask any of us and we will gladly do it for you :)
