There are moments where I think, wow this place is really stuck in the 1990's, but then I realize its because its the best form for this place, and however far we stray, or how long we voyage, we always come back here.

I do prefer the 1990's internet. It may be gazing back with rose-tinted glasses at this point, but it seemed a much friendlier place. Not chock full of algorithms designed to suck you in and keep you engaged in the worst possible ways. I prefer to be addicted to smut of my own volition, thank you very much.

It definitely has such a chill vibe! I know through reading the rules and having a wander that there are non-adult RPs. I haven't ever written in RP format before, do you think it would be better for me to start with something like that or is general consensus that it doesn't matter?

There are non adult RPs yes, but honestly that part of the site is not as visited by most. So it will be harder to pick up a story there.

I think as long as you are up front that you are new it shouldn't be a huge issue, also there is a place for one shot stories, kinda shorter stories that are good for testing out things. Be it a kink or a specific time period. It is a place I quite enjoy personally :) Less pressure to come up with a whole story.

And while some people are more weary of writing with someone new, for obvious reasons, plenty of us love to write with new people and as long as you go.. hey im new to this.. it shouldnt be an issue :)

I completely understand why people would be reluctant to work with someone new, especially if you're putting a lot of work into something! The idea of shorter things does make sense, though, it probably would get the feel for something super quick rather than committing to a long story and realising I'm not as fabulous at this as I thought I would be!

Pff you are as fabulous as you think! :) Believe it and it will happen.. or something. Also, there are many levels of writers here, from people that can easily push out pages in each reply to people that are more comfortable with just a few lines for that rapid fire. There is someone for every taste and skill level.
