A Word From the Writer:

I'm just going to have to kick this off without worrying too much about the aesthetic of it for now. All of you very talented visual artists have my admiration because graphic design is not my niche. Forgive me for what I lack, will you, and read on?

The longevity of role-playing as a hobby dwarfs many others on my list. For as long as I can remember, writing has always been a passion of mine, one that I have dedicated time and effort into improving. While I am certainly imperfect and with room for improvement, I love to entertain people who enjoy this collaborative craft.

Challenging writers are some of my favorite sort. Through quiet observation, I can tell Elliquiy has garnered an excellent stock of high caliber creatives.

There is so much I want to learn from and share with you. Bring me distinct styles and nuanced voices, and I will step to with mine.

I prefer to play male characters to female character counterparts, and I tend to play more dominant female characters to female character counterparts. You can find additional detail in my House Expectations here for more information on matters such as POV, post length, etc.

Please bear in mind this thread is a work in progress. Thanks for stopping by!

Synopses–Short Hops, Little Bunny:

  • Jump #1 (TAKEN) – Setting: Modern/Semi-Futuristic – Synopsis:
The Facility was an undisclosed government program for many years with a focus on genetic experimentation. There were many in the private sector in support of the program's efforts to bolster the military with a new class of special operatives. There were those with vehement opposition, however. YC's father is part of the private sector in support of The Facility; YC is involved in a rebellion bent on abolishing The Facility and its abhorrent practices. MC is a product of The Facility, hired by YC's father under contract to rein in his unruly daughter. (Plot is far more thought out and detailed than this snippet.)

  • Jump #2 – Setting: Historic Fantasy – Synopsis:
Peace began to rot the day the elves allowed the heir to their throne to wed a human. It was a most unusual courtship, one that many questioned and believed to be entirely unnatural. Humans were innately drawn to anything they did not possess. Immortality. Magic. Power. They were born to wither into old men and women, blighted by time, cursed for their greed by the Gods who turned their backs on the race and stripped them of any rights to divinity.

As King of the Elves, on the day of his wedding, the Elders inscribed an enchanted ring as they had done to every king before him. One of the key functions of the enchantment was to prevent an uprising among their people, to maintain the peace and allow the king to control his army when needed. When the King usurped his Queen of her home, he banished her from her homeland.

Waging war, he commanded his army to seek out and annihilate other beings with magical ability. Fae. Sprites. Mages. Even the heart of the magical world—dragons—were hunted relentlessly. Desperate to return home, to save her people, and to prevent the genocide of so many suffering at the hand of her estranged husband, she hears a rumor while wandering the land of a dragon who has managed so far to evade her husband's wrath. She seeks the dragon out with intent to forge an alliance and exact retribution on her father and restore her link to her kinfolk.
  • Jump #3 – Setting: Modern/Dark – Synopsis:
Classed as a Guardian, he knew the rules, and she wasn't his first charge. That was the trouble with mortals; eventually, their life came to an end. Still, it seemed to him that she was bent on making mistakes. He couldn't help but wonder why she kept fucking up, almost as if she did so on purpose, like she felt she deserved a miserable life.

That night when she got into his car, he didn't know what was going to happen. It was another troublesome matter when dealing with humans. As much as Guardians wished to know what their charge was thinking, they couldn't. Free will and what not. Humans had to be able to think for themselves, but not everyone was of sound mind and body.

They definitely weren't when they were drunk and drugged, and when she wasn't using, she was dealing.

For the first time in his existence, watching his charge suffer at the hands of a man she'd been abused by time and again, he found himself no longer able to simply stand by. In that car, on that night, seeing her be so completely violated and taken advantage of, he would allow his thoughts to invade hers.

The minute they did, a worldly connection would be established. His presence would become known to her in a split second, even if she would not know who he was or why she suddenly knew he existed. If becoming mortal was the only way for him to save her, then he would make the ultimate sacrifice and risk falling in exchange for a mortal's certain death.
  • Jump #4 – Setting: Historic Fantasy/Supernatural/Dark – Synopsis:
His father had died years ago as a result of her father's ineptitude, and whether she was aware of it or not was of no import to him.

While mourning his father's death, his mother had fallen gravely ill and passed away, leaving him with a burdensome load on his shoulders as a very young man. Left without the guidance of his father, he was forced to choose: either step up and lead or follow in that man's shadow.

In the event the Alphas could no longer command the pack, often it was a Beta to assume the role. As a Delta, he found himself suffering the loss of both parents and staring his father's best friend in the eye, full of hatred for the man that had cost his father his life. His father's friend was a skilled warrior and hunter, and although he'd ranked beneath his father, he knew that the man would be difficult to take down. When he did, it left a rift in the pack. Many believed that he was too young and inexperienced to be an Alpha, so the pack split.

He'd won the battle but started a war that would rage for years. Born just after the pack's division, she would have little knowledge of who he was to recognize him beyond stories. Finding her over two decades later dangling from that cliff while scouting prey in his territory, he would find himself faced with a new decision.
