In the Distant Future Far from Earth…
The Slavery Barge Renown of Edon moved through space, its hull littered with the scars of battle and resistance. On board, the victims of its latest conquest are in a cell, chained to the floors and walls. Humans from the planet Varga IV. Most are females, captured by the hideous Kzarbe to be sold on their homeworld for anything from work to pleasure slaves and even meat.

Most of the humans are kept in rags, any protective clothing or armor stripped from their bodies and incinerated. Any found with obvious genetic defects were either thrown out an airlock or cooked in the ship’s galley, leaving only those ‘pure’ humans by whatever twisted metric the Kzarbe used to determine who was and wasn’t a slave.

They were near the planet of Diani VII when the ship began to shudder. To some, this would feel like normal braking thrusters firing, but to the old hands the vibrations were off. Shortly after, alarms began to sound. The heavy thuds of their captors moving about were heard outside, and in the darkness they could only wait. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the ship began to shudder again, this time from combat. Trapped and unable to escape, the prisoners wait to see if more prisoners would soon be joining them in the cells.

Their answer came when the doors opened and in strode a massive creature, its joints whirring and buzzing, before speaking in a heavily distorted synthesizer, [You have been rescued by Dr. Cronin. You will not resist.]

Hey everyone, GloomCookie here with a new plot. This is a campy narrative RPG called Dr. Cronin & The Infinity Engine. This is based on the various B- and C-list movies that came out in the 1970’s and 80’s as copy-cats of Star Wars, combining campy plot, sexy girls, rampant sexuality, and bad editing.

The game starts off as the prisoners from the slave barge are escorted by their ‘rescuers’ to the planet’s surface to meet the planet’s leader, Dr. Marcus Cronin, renowned throughout known space as the Mad Doctor of Rani’s Planet. He and his army of cyborg soldiers have rescued you, but it’s made abundantly clear you are still prisoners in all but name.

From here, you begin to learn more about Dr. Cronin. What are his motives and intentions, what will happen to you and the others, and what will you ultimately decide to do? And what is the mysterious Infinity Engine that he keeps talking about but refuses to elaborate further, merely insinuating “It will change the very universe”.
