As interesting as #4 would be I'm not sure you'd be able to get the full set of transformation done owning both to limited starter funds and that dastardly humanity stat.

2 & 3 look neat, no real frills to get hung up on. Well beyond spider legs how?

1 is... I can't figure out if she's supposed to be some sort of healer or package delivery girl.

Ramblings aside I'd probably suggest 2 or 3 even if 4 would be hilarious, and she sorta looks like one of those Shadowrun troll variants.

1. Would prolly be a nomad type as they are the only role in red that starts off with a vehicle.

2. Could be anything from a solo to a rocker but yeah the character creation would be wonky because you aren't going to get that kind of cyberware allowance to start. It's basically a pic to aspire too and I likes it.

3. This pic screams corp to me. My imagination thinks that gold thing on her arm looking like a decoration could end up being some kind of retractable shield. Very cool concept and pic.

4. She of the bullet resistant bewbs.

Honestly the third one looks best to me. I imagine a corpo kid who was cut off. Maybe the parents were done with her antics, or maybe they were killed. Now she is cast out in the wilds of Night City. Learning to take care of herself on the mean streets while trying to maintain that bougie lifestyle. A fixer maybe.

So I want to clarify how this game fits in timeline wise - since we're post-77, we're well beyond the setting as at Cyberpunk RED. Is the assumption that 2077's history is correct, so the radiation has been cleaned up, Pacifica was built and then got fucked up, they had the Fifth Corporate War (I call BS on calling it the Unification War, it was Militech vs Arasaka all over again), Arasaka was allowed back into the playpit. Is Blackwall still up?

Since someone else has nabbed Techie, I'll go back to the drawing board and think something up.

Arcanist

Choice is but an Illusion. Consequences are however real.

Moxa

Does Danger Gal still exist in 2080? It's one of the differences between RED and 2077 that wasn't really explained, 'cause Michiko Arasaka had like... completely cut ties (and was hunting down Arasaka cells) in RED but by 2077 she's back on the board.

Arcanist

History will be as per Cyberpunk red book. Yes Danger Gal still exist. Keeping overall storyline from console/computer game seperate.

If you are fixated on techie I can reroll. I run Red bi weekly so character creation for me is pretty simple

Nah s'all good. A Danger Gal Investigator Lawman is speaking pretty strongly to me and has a killer aesthetic with the neon-catgirl vibe

I'll admit to playing more of the cyberpunk video games then the tabletop so I may be missing something but between the GM choosing a small set of characters and the variety of ways to build characters does the role even matter that much?

Someone just needs to warp the Dundee quote.
That's not a vibe. THIS is a vibe. :D

They get me. Build the perfect strap on...weaponize it...

With corps and netrunners they are hard to put into a group by design. A netrunner and gm could write a boot about one hacking run while everyone else is kinda standing around. Thats how they are set up in the books. With a corpo they have minions and get more every couple levels. So not only would they have a corpo to answer too, they would also have up to 3 npcs for a gm to herd about.

So I'm getting the vibe the gm is looking more for a street level kinda gutterunk campaign with some adult themes. Our only real lifelines are likely to be one another.

Netrunners are *sliiightly* better in RED than SR or 2020, because the Net doesn't really exist in RED after the DataKrash, so a) they have to be physically present to hack, and b) they can remote operate stuff over WiFi to a degree, like seeing an auto turret and turning it off. But even then the hacker problem remains of trying to basically do two worlds at once

Hexed

so no 2077 see it, hack it, forget it huh? :D

That could actually be a neat way to build hacking if one was making their own systems. Instead of your in the net while everyone else stands around you have hacks that work like spells in most systems. Jam weapon, override turret, emergency door lock, etc.  Some stuff the netrunner could almost spam and some that is them burning some nasty virus they have for one massive fuck off effect like... Dunno. Make all security features target badge wearers instead of non badge wearers.

Doomblade403xxx

Yeah it is easier in Red by a margin.

Red really did a better job of fleshing out the roles more than the old 2020 system did. In fact it really made everything a lot more democratic in terms of play.

Right on.

There is also a reason you guys do not need a hacker which would be evident later in the adventure.

Fixers are always good. So is someone who can do legwork.

Gonna need to ponder this for a while. Got what I thought was pretty minimal cyberware (some enhanced senses and skinweave) and sent my 7 EMP character right into Cyberpsychosis so *shrug*

Hexed

o.o

How did you blow 70 points of humanity with only skinweave and sense enhancements? How'd you enhance the senses?

TFcommando

I'd been thinking various Solos (Gunbunny or martial artist) or Nomads (Pirate!  Typical motorcyclist!) but there seems to be some interest in those.  The expanded range of things a Rocker might be (all the way up to 'cult leader') got me thinking...  A YouTuber who does urban exploration videos, since there's so much ruined infrastructure to poke around in.

Two Cybereyes - 14HL
2x Colour Change - 4HL
Microoptics - 2
Chyron - 2

Cyberaudio - 7
Amplified Hearing - 3
Internal Agent - 3

Mr Studd - 7
Skinweave - 7
Holster - 7

Total of 56 HL, 14 Humanity left, EMP of 1. Even jettisoning the Holster (I can just hide it in my pants) and Mr Studd (I doubt that Arcanist is gonna make us roll for sex stuff, I was just gonna fluff it as making butt stuff more fun :p )  it's still 42 HL which is enough to bust down to 2 EMP (Remember that Cyberpsychosis starts at 2 EMP with 3 Psychopathic Traits and keeps getting worse from there)

huh. man that adds up way quicker then I thought. O.O

Yup, guess people are just really unstable in the 2050s-80s :p

Doomblade403xxx

Couple of things to keep in mind here.

You CAN get counselling for cyberpsychosis and bring those hcs down to the bare minimum of 2 hc. The issue there is the counselling costs money or you have to have a doctor friend. I have kinda used a piecemail theory. Buying an item or two, working the ac down, and adding more. It's hard to start a character with all the cyberware you want, and it's safer to build a cyberwarrior from the ground up than trying to stuff all that ware into them out of the gate.

Plus you can't buy therapy at character creation. Meaning really the game is trying to discourage *any* level of cybernetics early on, not just extremes.

Sure if this was purely about  mechanics. The numbers aren't the point, it's about style choomba
