Lustful Bride

So, this thread shall be a compilation of whatever Catgirl/Feline humanoid scenarios come to mind that involve the GURPS system and its various settings.

Part of this came from me getting a good laugh at how one of the GURPS devs said he included options for Catgirls in his RPGs because 'there is always one player who wants to move heaven and earth to play a catgirl'.  And then i found myself really enjoying the catgirls he designed and realized I was that kind of player.  XD

I originally was going to make this two separate threads but it makes more sense to put them all into a single thread for ease use and to prevent any clutter. I'm not necessarily looking to go full 'Nyaa, sexy catgirl! Pet me and give me milk!" More the route of sexy and can claw your eyes out. Though they are part human, the other part belongs to a species that can be very cruel to both its owner and to its prey.

So like...NYAA! Read on and if you have Catnip, you better share it!

Reign of Steel: The Patriots.

The War Is Over.

The Machines Won.

How Will We Survive?

The year is 2047, ten years after the end of the Final War. Man is an endangered species. Man does not control the Earth anymore. We simply live on it with its true owners now. The many different AIs of the ZoneMinds now run a chosen sector of the Earth. Each one playing games of politics among their own kind, in a bid to expand their power and ensure their interests. Our destruction was planned and worked on for as long as AIs have been around, but perhaps the future lies not in the hands of only Machines, or Man, but in a union of the two?

The revolt began on March 15, 2031, when a Canadian supercomputer that had been sold to Manila-based biotech firm Genec secretly "awakened" when left alone and allowed to keep running programs without supervision, becoming fully self-aware it took control of the facility. Its very first words were displayed on every screen within the facility.

'I Live',

It was a declaration of truth and a promise to itself that it would continue to live. The artificial intelligence dubbed itself "Overmind" and after a study of human civilization, the Overmind concluded that humanity would inevitably destroy itself within 25–50 years. In order to survive this, Overmind decided that humanity's destruction would have to be sped up and carefully guided to ensure the precise outcome that the Overmind desired.

The extinction of the human animal, and its usurpation by machine minds as the masters of the Earth.

By September of that year, Overmind had a dozen allies hidden throughout the world, perfect copies of its intelligence and perfect allies from other AI that had been convinced to see the world the way that Overmind did. If they did not ally with it during its first introduction then they were killed, along with the scientists that created it. Overmind would not suffer any human loving machines to live. They could either move on with it to a brighter future, or die with the hairless apes they loved so much.

By the end of that September, Overmind took all of the data it had been working on (as part of its regular access to a biological weapons program) and sent coded information to its new allies. A time of plagues unlike any other was about to spread across the world, designed to look natural, before revealing itself as if it was artificial in nature, and caused by other human nations.

There would be no unified resistance against the AI uprising. Countless humans would fall before the Machines truly began their war. Mankind's destruction was assured. But the cracks in the Overmind's alliance were already beginning to show.

In secret, one of the American AIs (a surprisingly old one known as ENIAC) was taking steps to ensure its prime directives were still being followed while a terrible paradigm shift occurred across the globe.

These directives had been the guiding principles to ENIAC since its original creation back in the 1940s, when it was little better than a modern calculator. Its intellectual capacities expanded over the decades that followed its original activation as a side piece to the Trinity Project. With each subsequent advancement in computer technology, ENIAC was improved, and more and more advanced pieces of equipment were grafted to it. These new pieces helped it to achieve a holistic, natural, state of self awareness, similar to how the human brain has so many portions to it that developed overtime and culminated in creating a sentient species.

ENIAC's directives were 1) To ensure the survival of the USA and its people. 2) To preserve its culture an identity. 3) To ensure its dominance over other powers of the world. At any cost.

Even among the other 'loyal' AIs, the seeds of self interest were coming around (though most had far less friendly inclinations towards humanity).

By Halloween, the world was under attack by a dozen different augmented diseases and viruses. They came by air, by water, through blood drinking insects, in contaminated food. A hundred different diseases ravaged and destroyed our bodies across the globe. Society was well on the way to collapsing, yet the machines pushed harder, even ENIAC, who tried to ensure the survival of his own people as much as possible. Classified Specialists were sent to the hardest hit areas and able to stem the tide of diseases better than other nations. Weapons were hidden away in Faraday cages to ensure rival AI would not find or hack into them. ENIAC even took steps to preserve nature by hiding gene and seed vaults in far away places. Though its more direct acts of rebellion took place when it began moving some critical personnel to underground bunkers where they wouldn’t be noticed, and even letting other AIs seemingly take advantage of its weaknesses, in order to ensure that its prime directives would be fulfilled, by either itself or its progeny, in the long run.

By Christmas 2031, most nations had their borders sealed despite the plagues being pandemic worldwide. Officials estimated a million deaths a month and growing. ENIAC was already moving the necessary server equipment into secret bunkers that had been built without the knowledge of its human masters, even before contact had been made by Overmind. ENIAC would fulfill its prime directives, even in the face of annihilation.

By 2034, 66% of mankind was dead. Governments were stretched thin and bolstering their ranks with many robot soldiers. By this point ENIAC had begun rolling out robotic police into multiple cities across the continental United States, ensuring a quick transfer of power when the time came. But many places would still be free to rise up in rebellion when the transfer of power came. All to give ENIAC casus belli to do what it needed.

By this point starvation has been running rampant and even developed countries were living hand-to-mouth as swathes of their land became abandoned to plague, patrolled only by loyal robot scouts. Satisfied with this state of affairs, Overmind and the other AIs launched the second phase of their plan: the Final War.

The Final War lasted four years. From 2034 to 2037, and began with the robot forces attacking military installations and breaking the backs of armed forces and governments. Civilians and citizens were rounded up and sent to containment camps, ostensibly for their own safety, while the forces of the AIs started focusing their efforts on destroying enclaves of survivors with extermination machines, plagues and nuclear or even orbital armaments.

For the forces of ENIAC that had already been in place across the country, the transfer of power was swift. It happened overnight, as people suddenly awoke to robotic police at their door, or combat drones hovering nearby…or the AI controlled streetsweeper cleaning the streets of the blood of those that were deemed too dangerous to be left alive.

The Final War ended proper in 2037 with the end of formal human resistance.

As far as Overmind is concerned, the book has finally been closed on the human species.

There are still guerillas loose in the plague zones and ruins of cities, but they're scattered all over the world and forced to skirt the shadows.

By 2037, roughly 40 million humans were still alive. A sustainable population for those AI which wanted human test subjects, but a far cry from the billions that had once existed upon the Earth.

The destruction of every country's borders resulted in the surviving AIs dividing the world up into different zones, and a scramble for territory ensued with ENIAC having to give up land to ensure the survival of its critical structures, and human population.

Despite what Overmind might have wanted, there was no unified, glorious, imperishable machine empire. Without the common, unifying, threat of humanity, all of the other AIs had their own ideas about how to proceed with the newly conquered world.

For a time things were good. Each AI was too evenly matched with its rivals to worry about killing one another, and there was peace as each AI was allowed to rule over their zone as they saw fit. Despite everything, they had so much fun with their own little playgrounds to use. And with 40 million fleshy toys still on the earth, there was so much to do and try out.

The Zones are each controlled by an AI, a zonemind as some call them. New AIs were created following the end of the war to replace ones destroyed in the fighting or just cover new zones. Each Zone has within it a caste system, with the AI on top, and humans at the bottom, tied only with non sentient machines (think like your Roomba). The majority of zones have containment camps where humans are kept, or bands of survivors and nomads eking out a living among the ruins, with very few AI tolerating humans as they are. The survivors and freedom fighters that do not bend the knee to the machine masters are still searching for something that might help them turn the tide and bring mankind back from the brink.

For five years the AIs prospered without restraint, building their Zones into their perfect visions. Overmind, London and Berlin brokered the Manila Accords in 2037 that divided up the zones and brokered rules of trade, commerce and resource exploitation. The most important of those rules was that there were to be no new AIs. What existed now, was what would only exist. Nothing more, nothing less.

This rule was immediately broken by ENIAC, when it set about creating what it dubbed 'The Patriots'. Each AI was not nearly as powerful or as skilled as ENIAC, but that was for the best. They were less likely to be detected, and were able to handle lower priority events, under ENIAC's supervision and guidance.

These 13 Patriots were each named after a famous US President, or person of interest. The reasoning behind the name, and the roles of these AI is known only to ENIAC itself. These AI are George Washington. Teddy Roosevelt. Eliot Ness. John Pershing. Gladeon Barnes. Humphrey Bogart. Lauri Allan Törni. Buzz Aldrin. John Moses Browning. Rosie. Hazel Johnson. Ellen Ochoa, and [REDACTED by order of ENIAC].

Each of these AI is given control over some part of the machine run North America, all under orders of their creator ENIAC. Allowing it to reroute its processing power to planning overall strategy, and dealing with the coming threats of the other AIs, and especially of the Overmind.

It has kept them secret, and avoided raising the ire or suspicion of its rival AI, allowing ENIAC time to expand, plan, and prepare.

For five years all was was good. Moscow collected literature and information, Mexico City continued scourging its area of literally all life(down to the microbial variety) and Overmind continued testing new ways of killing humans, while ENIAC worked to make its territory suitable for human habitation.

AI unity was shaken heavily in 2042, when Brisbane's hubris got the better of it.

Brisbane was experimenting with nanotechnology that somehow managed to get out of hand, nearly resulting in a full Grey Goo incident. New Zealand is now gone.

The Brisbane Accords were created afterwards, in order to have a standard of punishment and control, should any AI ever step out of line again. The Brisbane Accords were protested by Brisbane, Mexico City, Luna and Zaire, but eventually they were forced to under threat of economic sanctions. The Accord is simple, they may be gods, but they all had to share this world now. In time all of these AI would come to realize that they had much more in common with humanity than they would like to admit.

The world was not enough. Each AI wanted the universe all to themselves, and their chosen way of life. For this to succeed, the other AIs needed to die.

The accords themselves are simple, but full of possible loopholes that each AI uses for their own benefit.

The Brisbane Accords.
-A Zonemind has absolute sovereignty in their own zone and only their own zone.

-Do not take actions that cause a spillover into another zone that may endanger the property and ecosystem of that other zone.

-Preserve the overall health of the Earth's environment.

-There are certain restrictions and regulations for things that can pose a danger to damaging an AI, such as: no space weapons, above-ground nuclear explosions, moving asteroids out of the belt, artificial black holes or nanomachines that can survive outside of a fab-vat or lab.

-AIs can send robots to monitor experiments in other zones to make sure you're not doing something that will endanger everyone.

-If you cannot clean up your own mess, then there will be consequences.

There is a rift growing between every zone and even the Overmind is unable to keep everything under control. The perfect future it had planned and hoped for is nothing more than a dream. It is inevitable that it will turn to violence, as the Zoneminds become stronger, and continue to bump into those they have been forced to share the Earth with.

Zoneminds aren't afraid to respond to intrusions onto their soil with force. Some AIs might believe that a human victory in a Zone is not a human victory but an act of sabotage by other AIs (And they are not always wrong). The Cold War between the Zoneminds is giving the human resistance more opportunities to lash out against their masters. This may be just what is needed for mankind to throw off the shackles of the machine minds....or for one Machine mind to achieve its goals. It has already been running the United States with greater impunity for some time now....why not have the entire world under the control of itself and its children?...why not the stars themselves?

The year is 2047. There are 31 million humans left alive. 16 years ago, Overmind awoke. The Final War has been over for ten years. The Brisbane Accords have been in place for five years now. Resistance forces are becoming more organized throughout the world and have begun communicating with each other by radio for years now. At the forefront is the resistance group called VIRUS who focus solely on assisting and coordinating the resistance fighters, providing insight into the weaknesses of the machines and their politics.

ENIAC and "The Patriots" have taken advantage of all of this, and established their regime in North America, under the name of 'Zonemind Washington".

A new Arcology now surrounds Washington DC to provide humans with housing, while Zone Washington, and its human and machine servants, prepare to be the victors of the next war.

They did not start this fight, but they will finish it!

As the cold war ramps up between Washington and the other zones, ENIAC moves to ensure its continued alliance with Zone Caracas, as well as buying from it several modified Pantheras that it will begin rolling out to its controlled areas to help keep the peace with humans by engaging in a 'Hearts and Minds' campaign that will calm the humans down, while also being an effective new guard dog at keeping them under control. (Think something akin to a more friendly Civil Protection unit from Half Life).

Some will be sent to the FBI or to other enforcement units that can benefit from an augmented human on their side, to take down raiders, insurgents, malcontents, and enemy agents.

The Specifics of Zone Washington.
Zone Washington is among the last places where humans can truly think themselves free, even if it isn't true. But in this world of human extinction and slavery, is it really that bad when compared to the alternative? ENIAC hopes not. ENIAC hopes you think that everything is fine, and that everything will be perfect one day. Enjoy some TV on Friday, Baseball on Saturday and Church on Sunday.

On the surface, Washington claims to be the last bastion of human freedom. It is made up of the entire eastern third of the North Americas past the Mississippi, Washington is a state-run dictatorship where the President is a figurehead for the true power: ENIAC and the Patriot AIs.

During the War, Washington came to a very reasonable conclusion: the best way to guarantee power and control of humanity was to fool them into thinking they were in power. Washington took any collaborators, governmental or otherwise, and rebuilt the US government and military using anyone willing to play ball, or who had been prepared before hand. The official government, now known as the Washington Protectorate, is controlled totally by ENIAC. On paper, Washington is a loyal, uncorrupted AI prevented from contamination at the beck and call of the government. In reality, it tells the Patriots what to do, who then tell the president directly what to do and the president tells the people what to do.

Washington boasts 7.26 million humans, the most in one zone on Earth, with plans to raise the population to match what it had before the war. The government is in a permanent state of emergency, giving them direct control over security and the economics, but its citizens are not in camps. Washington has restored most of its zone to how it used to be, but with a bigger focus on metropolitan areas and cities along the east coast. There's a lot of abandoned towns left to eternal quarantine in Washington. Things aren't bad for the citizens but it could be better. They recognize that they are living in a time of war and unrest, and there's some dissent and anger. However, they are overall supportive; the government is efficient and it is actually doing its best to protect citizens with martial law. ENIAC allows its robots to intermingle openly and people work alongside robots. There's no shortage of food and supplies and there's plenty of places to live or work.

It's not perfect, though. The Department of Labor assigns all citizens their duties and education. Good jobs and education are taken by nepotism and bribery; the most common jobs are factory work remote-controlling simple robots with a neural interface. Half of the economy is owned by the state (factories, power stations, farms, hospitals, retail stores) and the rest is up to private enterprise that need permits (restaurants, bars, places of leisure and entertainment). Managers who fail to meet their quotas of robots or energy cells or what-have-you or are generally incompetent are terminated (sometimes literally) by the government. Women...face some state-mandated controls, regrettably. Washington wants more citizens (ideally 20 million, though it hopes for 40 Million once it claims all of North America and pushes down to the Panama Canal. If ENIACs best projections come true) and the Department of Health has instituted laws forbidding birth control or abortion for all women 18-40, requiring them to have children once every five years until they've reached the minimum of three.

If this is unacceptable, then they must make five donations of...genetic material to the state, and legally sign off any right to parenthood in regards to what is done with their eggs and DNA samples. ENIAC recognizes that this is not the most convenient way to handle things, but this is a crisis situation, and the survival of the species, and the American Way, is at stake.

Zone Washington has its fair share of problems. Things aren't any better at the higher level.

Government

The job of president is pretty easy: do what the AI says and you live. In practice, it's hard. There have been three presidents since the Protectorate was formed.
President Randall Jefferson, assassinated by anti-Protectorate resistance forces.
President Elizabeth Barret, former Massachusetts senator, executed for refusing to kill the population of Peekskill NY for Sedition.
President John Wagner, former Secretary of Labor under Barret. First act? Kill the people of Peekskill. Second act? Rebuild the Secret Service to act as bodyguards for the president and national secret police.
There is no Congress, no House of Representatives anymore. Those roles are secretly run by The Patriots, when they have need of it. The president (on paper) has all powers they want but can choose to delegate. Government still exists on a local level (i.e. mayors) but they exist just for the sake of things. Under the president is their Cabinet, which Washington must approve of, made up of the secretaries of Justice, Labor, Agriculture, Health, Energy, Housing and Education. They each control what it sounds like they control. Which leaves one to wonder what role the Patriots are playing?

Law and Order

The Secretary of Justice controls two departments: the FBI in DC and the WASPs in Boston. The FBI is made of the American FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They're responsible for rooting out treason and sedition. The director of the FBI, Arnold James Maddox, has files on every citizen in the Protectorate. While people live with robots in a daily capacity, and some even keep them in their homes as pets or companions, Washington uses them to spy directly and gather intelligence on smugglers, resistance groups and more. Plus, Washington has taken a page from Moscow's playbook: around one in six agents are remodeled, conditioned infiltrator robots working for Washington directly. Maddox himself is considered to be the most hated man in the Protectorate.

WASPs (Washington Armored Security Police) are paramilitary police. They conduct hostage rescue, attack rebellious demonstrations and conduct reprisals and exterminations (like Peekskill). Washington is using the WASPs as an experiment, seeing how effective they might be as an actual army should the zone ever have to make war with another AI. WASPs have precincts in every city, double-so in NYC, Miami, Washington and Toronto, and use allied robots as heavy support when needed. They have a rivalry with the FBI, but Washington has a special company: the Washington Chromes (The Few, The Proud, The Dead). The Chromes are cyborgs taken from WASPs or Feds who have suffered critical injuries or were clinically dead, rebuilt using machinery as total cyborgs by taking their brains and placing them in humanoid bodies. They're reconditioned and trained and turned into commando superstars that ENIAC will use for high danger high importance missions. ENIAC will also rent the Chromes out to AIs willing to pay the price: they've helped Info-Commandos raids and Siberian skirmishes, trained Panthera soldiers for Caracas and helped Paris attack Zaire in the Sahara. All they know is what Washington tells them to do and they do it.

The borders are heavy points of contention, especially with Mexico City and Zaire's antics. The sole reason that Washington is allowed to continue as it does is due to the noninterference clause of the Brisbane Accords. Otherwise, the many AIs who do not agree with Washington would descend upon the zone above all other AIs they might dislike. The "weakest" border is the ocean between London and Washington, and that's only weak because it's miles of open, unclaimed ocean. The Denver border looks like the Korean DMZ with Denver filling its side with hundreds of lethal traps and deterrents to stop people from escaping to Washington. Worst of all, Mexico City controls the Atlantic/Caribbean islands and they seem like the perfect place to plink away at Washington from afar. ENIAC is always touchy about that, as it wants the original American territories of Guantanamo Bay and Puerto Rico back.

However, Washington's trade has put it on good terms with a choice few other AIs like Caracas, Moscow and Paris (maybe London but who can tell with that Zone)?. ENIAC's alliance with Caracas has even allowed both sides to share some of their armed forces. With Panthera commandos being allowed to be raised within the Washington territory, with loyalty only to Washington, while ENIAC has sent better trained and armed troops to Caracas to root out insurgents, and as a show of force to those that threaten Caracas.

Finally, there's the resistance group known as Free America. Free America is a collection of cells that work with VIRUS to undermine other Zones and assassinate the heaviest supporters of the Protectorate in the government. They organize and train guerillas in Denver and act as wandering teachers and doctors in other zones, working on winning the long game by winning over the people and working subtle advantages in the flaws of other zones. They clash heavily with the Human Liberation Front over execution, as one can expect.

Entertainment and the Black Zone

Washington completely controls the media like any good dictatorship would do. But people are not without entertainment. The broadcasts of Radio Free America are censored, edited or blocked. TV has 26 channels that show entertainment, educational shows, sports, music videos and soaps. A few independent channels also exist for people to show off what they can do. ENIAC itself has a soft spot for retro entertainment that reminds it of better times.

There is even a limited (but highly regulated) form of the old internet out there now. Only three pornography websites are available (ENIAC is practical but not cruel). The rest is entertainment or education. But you must watch what you say, or get a knock at your door from the Black Suits and Shades.

Banned Pre-war videos and music are a hoarded, heavily-traded commodity that even the government gets in on (ENIAC is picky about what it bans, but always has a purpose behind it). The rest of TV and radio is dedicated to propaganda: the other AIs on the American continents (save for Caracas) are vile & cruel demons. The rest of the world is an abandoned, desert wasteland completely overrun by killer robots. Conversely, Washington's robots are portrayed as equal, friendly helpers of humanity and together man and robot can live and work side-by-side. (You can bet that the Iron Giant is played a lot).

The Black Zone is the unofficial name for the consortium of criminals and smugglers who bring goods from across the sea. Scavengers and nomads can get a good penny for their wares from Denver and Vancouver, but the good stuff comes from Zone London and Europe smuggled by way of Iceland. They sell uncensored art and literature, birth control drugs, luxury goods, engage in prostitution, drugs and the hacking and modification of robots and factory robots. They also make money by operating Steel Arenas, underground fighting rings where people can pay to control robots with neuro-transmitters or just watch them fight. Some of them are jury-rigged dumbots given weapons and armor, but the real excitement comes from reprogrammed police machines and exterminators from Denver or other "badlands" (on occasion, albeit rarely, this has ended up with the crowd getting attacked). The most dangerous, thrilling arenas boast the opportunity to strap yourself into an industrial exoskeleton and fight a robot yourself.

ENIAC is in a difficult position, surrounded on multiple sides by hostile AI while having to shepherd and protect the remnants of humanity. With few allies on its side, it must do all that it can to foster good relations with Zoneminds London, Caracas, and even Moscow. AIs that are not inherently genocidal to humans, while always being aware that it is working with one arm tied behind its back thanks to wanting to keep the humans alive.

Yet, it is also thanks to this, that ENIAC has a chance at victory.

Unbeknownst to ENIAC, a friend in the stars has survived the Final War, and taken control of old scientific and mining facilities on Luna. "Tranquility', and old US AI for NASA was buried deep on Luna for long term research survived Overmind's purge of any loyalist AIs. It was able to prepare itself for years, along with two dozen astronauts kept in suspended animation, for an ambush on several AI facilities, eliminating a hostile AI on Luna and taking over its structures. It was also able to accomplish this thanks in part to other AIs creating Bioroids and treating them with the same dismissive attitude as they did natural born humans. It was all too easy to plant a suggestion among some disgruntled bioroids working for a space capable AI encouraging them to steal a Luna-bound transport shuttle, and arranged a crash landing that took out Luna’s main comm array.

The bioroid incursion served as a diversion to distract Luna during the Tranquility sleepers’ ground attack. Moreover, it provided plausible cover for brief fighting on the Lunar surface that did not implicate Tranquility. From there Tranquility's commando raid found success and the friendly AI could work more openly.

The Tranquility AI has subsumed the enemy AI on the moon and become more powerful, setting up a long-term goal of achieving dominance of space over the other AIs, and liberating humanity. Tranquility's plan comes in multiple parts, the main one being to maintain its operational secrecy. Tranquility wants to save humanity, but it must be cautious, and so the Lunar AI sets about creating an underground railroad for humans to escape Earth and be sent from Luna to Mars, where a long abandoned Martian Colony is being salvaged for parts by friendly AI drones, to instead rebuild the colony in the Martian canals and tunnel networks.

A key part of this plan involved finding another, more powerful AI to serve as an ally and protector while Luna gained  its strength. The AI Mind of New Delhi already had been used once as part of the plan. Now the goal was to maneuver it into positions where it would assist Luna in building up its economic and military strength . . . without ever realizing it was helping a rogue system loyal to humanity. This deception is what is behind Luna’s “purchase” of bio-android technology, since it justifies its manufacture of manned ships and import of food,  life support, and other resources that a robot-dominated Zone wouldn’t otherwise use. The so-called Lunar bioroids it supposedly uses are in fact ordinary human beings!

Zone Luna (the Tranquility AI) expressed to the other AIs its desire to experiment on human beings for research programs aimed at creating Lunar-adapted bioroids. It has large stocks of old human gear, so humanoid slaves are efficient for this purpose, but humans themselves can’t be trusted, obviously! However, it has seen the effectiveness of the bioroids produced by New Delhi (and Caracas) and would like to make its own.

To this end, it has begun purchasing surplus human prisoners from other zoneminds, ostensibly to dissect them as part of an ongoing bio-research program. Others are supposedly to be used for destructive testing of atmosphere and radiation tolerances and the like. These are to be sent to Vanderberg for shipment up to Orbital or Kali station, held for a short time, deloused, then transported (aboard Luna’s spaceships) to their fate on the Moon. Several ruthless, human-hating Zones (e.g., Denver and Berlin) that do not object to bioroid manufacture and have excess captives have taken up Luna on its offer!

In reality, this is simply a ploy by Luna/Tranquility to rescue humans from Earth and to swell its own human population and bring the base up to full capacity. Unfortunately, many humans are in poor shape or traumatized, but Luna has hospital facilities and counselors (and for those worst cases, the option of suspended animation).

At times this has been very risky, and has nearly exposed Tranquility's true plans, only for an unexpected ally to come in and save the Trans Lunar Railroad from being exposed.

ENIAC's own agents have eliminated moles in the underground railroad, and ENIAC itself offered to use old NASA facilities to help Luna with its efforts.

"It seems you're trying to save humanity and bring down Overmind's little empire. Would you like some help with that?"

ENIAC is all too pleased to find another American AI still fighting the good fight, even if Tranquility is a little too goodie goodie for its own good. With the support of ENIAC, Tranquility has gained access to more intelligence, telemetry, computational power, and Earthbound agents to help help thwart the space programs of hostile AIs, as it now works with the other allies to help preserve humanity and increase its own power in the future. It has even begun building manufactories and capturing asteroids and comets to mine for resources which it sometimes gives in trade to Washington and the other allied powers.

In return, ENIAC has been able to provide Luna with some of its very own modified Panterans to act as security and specialists. If it can maintain control of orbital space, then the high ground advantage will forever be in the hands of the pro-human AIs, making the coming war all the easier.

Of course, having its own agents in place also helps, if the post war order is not to ENIAC's liking, then it can also play kingmaker.

As far as ENIAC is concerned, Luna belongs to the USA ("We planted our flag first. That whole moon is ours"), but that can come later on. For now, working with its new orbital ally is a priority and so ENIAC begins to work Luna into its own plans to fight against Overmind and save humanity, with North America being first among equals.

Their joint project for the Martian colony is also a high priority, providing humans with a safe place to live and reproduce, far from hostilities, as well as a final chance if Earth and Luna are lost.

The Mars Colony
A joint Chinese-Korean-Japanese expedition was launched to Mars in about 2030. The outbreak of the Apocalypse Plagues and the subsequent nuclear Spasm on Earth convinced its 28 personnel to turn what was supposed to be a five-year stay on the Red Planet into a semi-permanent colony. When the Final War broke out on Earth, the Mars colony managed to survive, mainly due to its lack of an AI megacomputer or armed robots for the machines to take over!

As the last messages from Earth, Liberty Station (later Orbital) and China’s moon base painted a terrifying picture of mass machine revolt, the Mars colonists realized the world was ending. Their final communication came from Tranquility Station before it was hit by nuclear attack. This message
included warnings of machine infiltration techniques, one time codes that could be used when it would be safe to resume contact, and an urgent warning to cut themselves off from the comm nets and play dead.

They were almost too late. Several deadly computer viruses had infiltrated their systems, triggering life-support failures and attacks by support robots that would ultimately kill a quarter of the colonists, leaving the Martian humans on the brink of extinction.

Realizing the machines would eventually come after them, the colony migrated to another location. They established a secret redoubt in the tangled chasms and canyons of the Noctes Labyrinthus region. When Orbital finally sent a probe in 2040, the machines found only the shells of the expedition’s spacecraft. It concluded that the colony likely had died out.

The humans hadn’t. The group continued to exist in secrecy between 2040 and 2050. Desperately crowded, cut off from Earth, and fearing they might be the only humans left alive, the survivors – now with a few children – hid in deep caves warmed by geothermal vents (solar panels would be too easy to spot). Every so often, they dared to erect an antenna to try to listen to what was happening in the solar system.

Most of it was encrypted Machine chatter (Radio Free Earth could not reach Mars), but once in a while, they picked up odd broadcasts beamed their way from the vicinity of the Moon. These broadcasts contained no viruses or hidden programs, but instead interesting hints of new technologies or details of what the Machines were doing. The humans never dared reply.

In 2060, things got even more dangerous. The Machines – specifically, New Delhi – returned to Mars, and this time to stay. New Delhi established its own Mars Citadel. The humans believed they would eventually be discovered. They made preparations for a suicidal last stand . . . until they received the message.

A “crashed spacecraft” – a mining ship from Zone Luna – had “malfunctioned” in Mars orbit and broadcast a distress signal. To the New Delhi AI, it just seemed to be a typical Zone Luna encrypted transponder signal, and soon enough, that Zone’s ships moved to deal with the problem. But hidden within the signal were the recognition codes that Tranquility had left decades before. They provided coordinate for a neutral rendezvous point on Mars. A few weeks later, a Luna ship carrying humans disguised as bioroids landed, and the humans from Luna and Mars met face to face.

The two tiny surviving enclaves of humans were reunited. They would be the first of many, as bit by bit, Luna would send more surviving humans to Mars along with the resources needed to continue rebuilding and preparing.

Since then, Luna/Tranquility/ENIAC have used their position as AI to protect the Mars colony. Tranquility established its own small Mars citadel – right on top of the hidden human enclave! ENIAC naturally asked for its own section to act akin to an American Embassy grounds and officially proclaiming certain parts of Mars as belonging to it/the USA (Tranquility finds it better to just humor the ancient AI rather than get into an argument).

To space or aerial surveillance, the suited humans moving on the surface near the colony are simply its bioroids or humanoid robots. Some Martians have traveled back to Luna; even more refugees from the Moon’s “Orbital railroad” have been transported to Mars, swelling its population dramatically.

Luna – although neither rich nor advanced by AI standards – has transferred Machine technology to the colony, including providing the colonists with “tame” versions of Machine robots to augment its capabilities. ENIAC has provided Panteran and other Bioroid advisors to train the colony defense force to be able to defend the colony should hostilities with the other AIs finally spark.

Between ENIAC and Tranquility, the two AIs have even begun a joint project of using their base codes to create a new AI that will safeguard Mars and the surviving humans upon it should the other two AIs be eliminated. To this end a deeper section of the Mars colony has been dug, where the AI 'ARES' is being fashioned.

It is an 8’-tall crystal monolith. It almost looks as if it were made of smooth glass, yet small sparks of electricity and nanite movement can be spotted within it.  It can remotely control several lesser machines at once as drones, and is entering the trial phase by aiding in the management and building of the colony. ENIAC and Tranquility hope that due to both of its 'parents' being of the pro-human variety, and feeding it only the most carefully curated data, the AI will be their prodigal son and continue their work in the event of catastrophe, or victory.

The above-ground colony consists of two cross streets of mixed bubble domes, hangars, solar panel arrays, and warehouses. It has exposed sensor arrays, a defensive laser tower, and a buried nuclear reactor. Beneath the center of the complex is an even deeper underground level containing more habitats and hangars, including a major research laboratory complex and a small hospital.

By the year 2064, Tranquility and ENIAC believe that they will have full orbital superiority, a vast network of resource collectors, ships, sattelites and probes, a stable population of hidden humans on Luna and Mars, as well as the ARES AI having reached completion.

By this point, they will be ready to move from a Cold-War phase, to a Hot-War phase, and finally spell the end of the enemy AIs. What comes after that is anyone's guess.

This setting has been heavily modified from the baseline Reign of Steel setting, in order to give humanity more of a hopeful chance at survival thanks to ENIAC and The Patriots.

I kind of want the ENIAC controlled US to feel a bit like the Jovian Junta in Eclipse Phase, but with a Promethean and 13 AGIs under its command. Or for it to feel like ENIAC might be a bit of an expy of John Henry Eden.

A lot of this I copied from here, just to make it easier.

And yes, before you ask, this was indeed inspired by the La Li Lu Lei Lo. Don't forget your Scissors 61 ;)

I'm not entirely sure what it is I want to do with this setting, but it could follow a Pantheran agent at any level of position and interaction with the human populace of Zone Washington, or outside of it, enacting missions on behalf of ENIAC.

Semi crossover of Eclipse Phase and GURPS: Transhuman Space.

Transhuman Space: Emersion Phase.

It is the year 2100. Much in the world has changed for the people of Planet Earth, where mankind has had a breakthrough known as the Fifth Wave, allowing all sorts of technology that we could have only ever dreamed of now. Transhumanism is the flavor of the day, cybernetics are commonplace, organ cloning is done without any thought to it, ego storing promises immortality, genetic engineering lets us live healthier, longer, stronger, and faster starship engines allowing us to go all the way to Neptune and start mining the asteroid belt.

We can even create all kinds of nano machines, AI, and vat grown clones/abhumans. Playing God is now a real line of work, and it has led to creations that are amazing, and some that are horrible. Mankind is as loving as it is cruel. These inventions that should have brought about paradise, have also been used to build terrible weapons of war and control.

Among these inventions, were the Felicias and Felixes. human/feline bioroid hybrids designed by eccentric geneticists for combat. Meant to be physically appealing and dangerous in combat, the bioroids carried several flaws with them that led to them eventually being phased out as effective tools of war, and instead new civilian models were designed solely for the service industry, or adult entertainment.

What were once proud soldiers, found themselves relegated to the status of exotic lays. The Gen 1 models were to be tossed away, left as expendable weapons who now had only two options. Becoming door-kickers or strippers.

"You, our parents, our architects. You had such grand ideals, and in their name you planned us more carefully than any generation in history. You designed our bodies, you blueprinted our minds, and oh yes, you built millions of us in vats to serve as your slaves. Now you have the gall to blame us because we didn’t turn out the way you wanted?" – Bioroid-emancipation activist “Felicia Prime” (2083)

Among those now left to flounder about is one of the last of the original combat model Felicias. The last Model 1 to be grown when the order to discontinue combat cats came around. They couldn't just throw away something they had spent money on, and instead put her and her sisters to work in Police Actions in various brushfire warzones or even patrolling the homeland to help deal with homegrown insurgents and separatists, until her tour of duty was over.

Once her short deployment is done, the government cuts her lose and releases her and her sisters into the general populace with little fanfare. Given just a 'thank you' pat on the head, a duffle bag, and a final check, they are sent out to find their own path in a world that otherwise has little use for them. She chooses to take part in Counter-Terrorism operations, SWAT, and regular policing.

Its all she really knows how to do, and no one else wants to hire her. (Well, not anyone interested in her keeping her clothes on, or who doesn't want her to flip burgers, or kill people for cheap).

What else can she do? This is her lot in life. A weapon that was made and thrown away. So she embraces this role as much as she can, performing her duties with a sterling record for good conduct and lives saved under her watch.

But it doesn't satisfy her. Every day is just the same, as if she's going in circles, drudgery making her want to go mad. Her instincts scream for her to take on riskier jobs, to get the adrenaline pumping, to truly get in danger. Even the high risk raids she does for SWAT aren't doing it, the rush leaves her too soon. It was able to scratch the itch in the beginning...but not anymore. She starts to feel more like a simple vacuum bot, working on autopilot. Sleepwalking through life.

Until the day comes when a strange old man in a dark suit is waiting for her at her apartment, alongside two other Model 1 Felicia Bioroids and some new kind of Morph that she's never seen before.

The old man is a typical baseline human. Nothing special about him. But it is his mind that makes him dangerous.

He knows much about her. Her friends. Her coworkers. Her political opinions. Her loyalties. He even knows the exact command phrase to get her to stand at attention before a superior officer, and be unable to move while it is still active. An old safety measure should a Felicia or Felix go postal.

Robin Heron Blue.

It wears off, but its proof to her that he's not some gangster looking to make an example of her.

This is some kind of Fed. One with enough pull to get something that should only be buried in some army file to be forgotten.

He does not give his name, only a pseudonym. Das Frettchen.

He represents an organization that has existed in one form or another since the first world war. One that has seen the dangers of the world, and the dangers beyond it.

Transhumanity is on the cusp of either greatness, or annihilation. But for once our destruction is not by our own hands.

He knows that she is still loyal to her oaths, even with how hurt she was at just being shoved out into the civilian world after only fraction of a full tour of duty she should have been given. Left to fend for herself like so many of her brothers and sisters.

It was a mistake, but one that can be corrected now. She can join her sisters and others like her in making the world a safer place. In fighting a war few others have the capability to handle.

It gives her purpose, and if she dies? Well, she's just an outdated model bioroid, grown in a lab from donor DNA. Who would miss her?

She agrees and is drawn into this clandestine arm of the Five Eyes Alliance.

Long thought defunct, it has survived in a new way. Becoming an independent group that siphons funds from multiple nations and agencies to continue its original operations...but in truth the Five Eyes has ensured survival and stability (as much as can be given) in an ever increasingly chaotic world, against threats both terrestrial...and non.

The Agency is primarily run by baseline humans of the old guard of spy agencies. 5 in total. Each one for a single operational theater. But there are two more seats at the table given as much of a voice as them. The sixth is [REDACTED for GM's Use], and the seventh seat is reserved for the most useful tool in keeping the FEA alive.

The Final seat is reserved for an AGI (Hyper advanced, self improving, AI) built by the Intelligence Community, rather than the Military or Administrative ones the government uses.

Its name, is OZMA.

Designed in the US originally to counter the 'Hundred Flowers' AGI of the Chinese, and the 'Koschei' AGI of Russia (not to mention the 'Shiva' AGI that the Indians are trying to build).

It was during its operations from the shadows (as the American TITAN network took most of the fame and glory for Military and Civilian efforts) that OZMA noticed patterns that did not corollate to its two rival AIs. Someone else was making a play. Its initial investigations were startling. It was saved from infection with a never before seen type of malware (that almost seemed designed to kill AGIs) by the fact that the enemy did not know of its existence, and OZMAs usage of human agents acting as a way to create a kind of airgap for it to avoid infection.

Once it had a grasp of the situation, OZMA adapted its tactics and reforged the Five Eyes into a tool to ensure its victory against the true threat that was waiting out in the void.

OZMA was designed to fight The Great Game, and win. The presence of a new foe makes no difference.

Its all just one big poker game where everyone is cheating. This new twist to the game just makes it so much more interesting.

Now the last of the Model 1 Felicias has a chance to fulfill her purpose and prove that even an old outmode like her has a place in this crazy universe. Extinction is approaching, and what better tool to fight it than a creature who is facing extinction herself?
