Late in the evening, when only crooks, drunks, and ladies of the night should be wandering, an elegant figure swept through the dark streets cloaked in a dark velvet robe. Piercing violet eyes shone from beneath the hood, careful not to be seen by the wrong people. Their goal was to get to a tavern called Mirthy Mary. A long line of shops were dark and closed, yet the one that was needed was lit up brightly from every window on the outskirts of the kingdom of Gallaria. One could hear many shouts, laughter, and music from inside. The figure quickly made their way over and slipped inside, attempting to find who they were looking for, wanting to make a quick transaction. Amidst the folks at the bar, a plump middle aged woman was serving drinks to patrons. Mary.

Mary was aware of this new patrons reason for being there that night, so when they approached the bar and set down a small sack full of golf coins, she immediately went to them with a smile, taking the bag and dropping it into a larger pouch attached to a belt on her hip. "Glad to see ya made it. Let's get started," Mary said. With a loud clap of her hands the loud chatter and laughter of the tavern quieted down immediately, all eyes turning to the bar and the hooded figure that waited there. "Gentlemen. We have a buyer this evenin'. This one's real special, so you best be on your good behavior."

The hooded figure turned to face the men and removed their hood, revealing a soft and feminine face, with those bright violet eyes that demanded attention. They nodded to the men in the spacious room, all of which were waiting to hear what they had to say. These were the mercenaries. Hired flesh for duties others refused to take. "Good evening, gentlemen," they spoke, nodding in their respects to them, voice soft and smooth. "My name is Elly. I am in need of someone who can take me to the Utopia beyond the wastelands. The reward is high. Upon completion you shall be given one hundred gold pieces, and any supplies needed along the way as well as for your return shall be paid for. Camels have already been bought and prepared for travel, and we leave as soon as possible. The earlier we depart the better, though I would assume whomever deems themself worthy for the job will want to review the supplies in case there may be something else needed, which will be taken care of immediately. Now.. do I have any takers.."



I'm hoping this intro is intriguing because I haven't played this story in a long time. Our dear Elly is obviously in need of a guide to Utopia for reasons unknown, but shall be revealed as time goes on. They are actually the young prince to be betrothed to a princess of another kingdom, but rather than lie to himself and to everyone else as to what kind of person he is he decides to run to the only place he knows he can be safe from this arranged marriage. Utopia, a land that has no laws, but unspoken rules. It is a place where men and women go into hiding from past lives they wish to escape from. One has to have a good head in order to survive here. Naivety will not be forgiven. But he is willing to take the dangerous risks of not only taking the journey go Utopia, but to try and survive there as well. Hopefully his chosen mercenary will take good care of him, though, yes?
