Actually, I was thinking just the opposite.  The trail of her current mission brought her to this town, possibly this very school.  My thoughts are still vague at this point, but she's either looking for her father's killer (which may have been years ago) or some kind of artifact/heirloom.  In either case, what she's expecting is fairly mundane, even if she is some kind of ninja, but it can turn out to be directly related to the main plot somehow.
What if her father's killer is actually related to whoever is running the villains of the story?

You missed a point there.  You don't have two character sheets--one for normal form and one for when you henshin.  The first time you henshin, you  throw away your old character sheet and now have only the magic girl character sheet.  Generally it wouldn't indicate a major change in your character, but if it would help your particular character concept that's an option.

Out of curiosity, would you be down for an older, perhaps Milfy-er magical girl? I was thinking maybe one of the teachers (the supervisor for the club?) or maybe the mother of one of the girls that got sent a message turned out to be the actual source of power instead.

I think I'd like you to pitch us something that fits into the group, Pdragon.  There's a thin line between, "Trying to make your own identity," and not being a member of the team.

To clarify:
High schoolers between the ages of 16-18.
First day at a new school.
Heroic personality--someone who, when seeing a stranger in genuine need--will feel motivated to help them.

Oh.

I can work with that.  I think the character isn't going to like having her brain messed with like that, but we'll see how that goes.

Muse

Well , sorry to see you go, pdragon.  Hope you find the game you want.  :)

Senator

This roleplay's setting has gotten me curious, but I want to know some things, like say how complex is the system for someone who doesn't system?

Muse

hi Senator.

Mutants and Masterminds is a very simple system in play.  Attack roll vs. defense.  Saving throw vs. difficulty.  Skill check vs. difficulty.  Conditions apply modifiers.  That's pretty much all there is to it in play.

The really complicated part is building the characters  Like a lot of superhero games, Mutants and Masterminds tries to let you make any character you can  imagine within the power level limits of the game by using a point buy system to build your characters.  You buy everything.  Your ability scores, your skills known, your defenses, and most of all a series of effects you combine to make pretty much any power you can imagine.

If you're someone who "doesn't do systems", you probably wouldn't think it was worth the time to do it yourself--though the fact hat there's a system reference document makes it really accessible.  If you're someone who has no experience with systems--as opposed to someone who prefers to avoid systems--then it's a fairly complicated place to start, but it's also a knowledgeable and supportive group to start with.

Personally--doing something knew--I'd rather start with a knowledgeable and a supportive group than start somewhere simple.

I don't know if GG is still accepting, but if she is, and if you're interested, ill be happy to help you out--even to the point of doing the numbers for you based on the concept you presented.

Radiant Warriors, on the other hand, is using a modified Star Wars module for D&D 5e.

Muse

*laughs*

Thanks Avernale.  That was silly of me.

We've already started Senator.  Yeah, please ignore everything i said in my last post.  This is a fairly straightforward d20 system i modifier from Star Wars Saga edition.  You have a race (human) a character class (magic girl).  You choose a theme to your magic, some feat, and some talents, and your good to go.  In play it's even more simple that mutants nd masterminds. (By about 5%).

We've got a discord that we're using to facilitate things.  We've got 5 players. We've just started the second chapter, which is where the action starts and the girls discover their powers.  If you want to aply somewhat quickly i'd love to see what you've got.

Muse

  Good morning Elliquiy.

This game has been going for a few months now.  Out girls have discovered the world of magic hidden in the wainscoting.  They've saved five runaways from Paris from being sold into slavery to an empire of demon-like extra dimensional conquerors.  They've faced evil wizards and perverted ninja girls.  They've discovered their senpai's secret power and secret mission and met his younger sisters.

I've got a really strong core group of 3 players and we're even making a web novel out of the RP.  We've also lost two players, recruited two new players, and lost them.  Stormwyrm and I thought this would be a good time to take another try at recruiting some new players.

Anyone care to join our adventure?

Muse

Hi, LEvi.  I'm really glad to have your attention.

I'm going to PM you my discord contact.

We'll talk you throuhg the sheets.  Most of us understand them just fine by now.

Basically, you're an exceptional highschool girl.  The stuf where it says, "Strength" and "Dexterity" describes your innate abilities.  How strong are you?  How smart are you?  10 is average.

Skills indicate the things you've learned how to do.  Can you cook?  Do gymnastics?  Drive?  Do you know science?

Feats indicate extraordinary training you have or magical abilities.  Radiant Lores are the spells you can cast when your a magic girl and talents are the exceptional things you can do or have when your a magic girl. Maybe you have a talking cat or a flying broom.  :)

The big thing to remember is that your senpai are standing by to help you with this stuff.  :)  Even once you've been in the game a while, you should learn enough about the rules to understand what you can try.  The rest you can just ask me, "I'd like to try this."

*  *  *

General question, should i put up links to the game?
