Momma Kitty

War is waging between two kingdoms. The kingdom of Tolvaria, a land of rolling hills and lush land, with vineyards as rich as the wine they produce, is targeted by the kingdom of Karranor, ruled by a greedy and power hungry beast of a man. The king has been expanding his territory, targeting those with the most, and Tolvaria is at the top of his list.

Tolvaria is rich with culture as the Neelix river runs directly through it to the ocean. Many trade ships make the short journey up the river to sell and trade their goods, and to bring home barrels of Tolvaria's famous sweet wine. The citadel sits in the center of the entire kingdom in the city of Alakti. It rests right in the crook of a gentle curve in the river with several docking points for the numerous travelers and tradesmen. Sitting in the middle of the kingdom, even the furthest residents are rarely more than a few days travel away. The people live plentiful and peaceful lives under the watch of their generous king.

Karranor, however, is further inland at the base of the Gruelik Mountains. The castle is a fortress built into the mountain face in the city of Rawen, looming over the kingdom below. Though it is impressively large, it's imposing size is nothing compared to what lies within. Countless mines wind through the mountain from inside the castle, filled with rare minerals and gems. The oldest mines have been turned to hallways that lead to various rooms. It takes one several months, if not years, to be able to traverse the fortress without getting lost. The land at the base of the mountain is tough, making it difficult to grow crops when the ground is not covered in ice and snow. Surrounded by dense forestry, the people of Karranor are mostly made up of hunters, taking down the beasts within the thick woods. Nearly every part of an animal's body is used. Whatever is not eaten immediately is dried and stored for the harsher times while the inedible parts are used for various things such as clothing or tools. Trading is infrequent due to heavy snow that covers the kingdom for nearly half of the year, with random storms throughout the rest making it difficult for anyone unfamiliar with the territory. Despite the hardships of the land, the fierce king continues to expand his control with his well equipped army, using the plethora of minerals taken from within the mountain to make a near endless supply of weapons and armor.

Word of an army coming to Tolvaria has been whispered on the streets, stirring fear amongst the people. The king has already received news that a small neighboring kingdom, Wexuca, had been attacked by the Karranorian army, headed by their own king. Destruction was laid in their wake, leaving behind broken homes and shattering the lives of many. Those that survived were taken as prisoners and made slaves to the soldiers. There was no mercy shown to anyone that dared rise against them. Once they were done with Wexuca, Tolvaria was next.

An emergency call to action was made in Tolvaria and its people were all made to seek protection closer to Alakti. Its soldiers were called to arms, with many others volunteering to help in any way they could. Battalions were sent out to each city that neighbored Wexuca, with larger regiments stationed in the cities around Alakti. Many citizens fled their homes from the outskirts of the kingdom to seek refuge in the capital city, or even leaving the kingdom altogether by ship down the river. Though, there were some that stayed behind. One such character was a healer that resided in a small town called Redwick, wanting to stay and help those that would inevitably be injured in battle. Their home was opened to the soldiers.

The Karranorian army has made its way through Wexuca and now rests just beyond the borders of Tolvaria. The king has been injured in battle and his wound is making things difficult. He will not rest long enough to let it heal, and nothing seems to be helping. None of his men are able to do more than make a concoction to ease the pain. This poses a problem. The king needs to find someone that can heal his injuries, but he does not want his men to know of it. He does not want to show any sign of weakness. Those that do know of his injury are told to keep an eye out for someone or something that would be able to heal his wound while he takes a step back from the frontlines for once. Little do they know that the perfect person was just waiting in the next town over.

YC is the king. My character is known for their use of healing magic and their mild nature, and having them could be of more use than just for healing. Once they are brought to YC and he is healed, he decides to keep them close, but as time goes on, the idea of simply using them as a hostage starts to seem less and less appealing, as he begins to get attached to his new healer. I can play a male or female. I am seeking one literate writer at the moment! DM me if you're interested!
