An idea I have in my head for consideration, a bit more serious than I normally do but worth considering I think.

In the last days of World War 2, my character has had to do a lot of hardening to survive. A Russian Soldier whose had to do a lot of awful things, at least he could write off his guilt as his victims being Nazis so he could sleep at night. Usually. There were exceptions, he knew this. There were times where he did awful things in the war that went above the cruety of War. He knows this.

In the last days of World War 2, somewhere along the German-Polish Border, then Pvt. Mikhail Lebedev did what he considers to be the most awful thing he did during the whole war. He broke into what he thought was an abandoned convent for a night's worth of shelter, but it wasn't as abandoned as he thought. Pvt. Mikhail Lebedev then decided at the time to be just making the most of the situation and raped a nun.

A few years later, now a Civilian, long after the fighting stopped and the psychological effects of the War were finally starting to subside in him, he decided to at least try to find and apologize to the nun he raped that cold night. When he does find her, he immediately discovers two surprises. She was no longer a Nun, and that from his rape she had a child.
