So admittedly I've kind of been fixating on an old horror novel from the 80's.


The Basic Premise of the Novel is that there's a race of monsterous humanoids that came to be known as Satyrs in our Myths. They are very inhuman in appearence but their main monster ability is an ability to hypnotize anyone they make eye contact with. Normally they are peaceful and just use this to make any humans they encounter forget about them.

One of them however has started using his powers to rape human women then make them forget about the attacks. To the victims they're just going about their day as normal, they blink, and suddenly they're on the ground somewhere with very obvious evidence they were raped but no memory of any such event. Not on a conscious level anyway, they do seem to remember on an unconscious level. In the novel the victims afterwords develop a strange compulsion to bathe with increasing frequency and complexity, a compulsion that gets stronger and stronger until they seemingly drown themselves.


I'm thinking that, except maybe for toning down that last bit, that might be a fun seed for an RP. A mysterious rapist who might not be human and who has the ability to influence the minds of others around him. Usually he just uses it to make people forget about him but recently he's started using his powers to commit rapes then make his victims forget about the attacks. One of the issues is that the victims only forget on a conscious level, they very much remember on a subconscious one. His victims may not remember why they feel so dirty but they almost always develop a sudden interest in taking frequent, large, and elaborate baths for example.
