You're just seeing the reservations made for teaching roles because you don't have to reserve being 'a student' those roles are widely open. Most FC's are more student-age and there are a lot more FC's reserved than teaching positions reserved. There will be more student PC's than teachers for sure.

If you want a student play a student.  I have no interest in adult roles myself.  In all honesty if the game is mostly adults I will likely drop my interest.

Sounds good! Because I think teachers will be rarer I would suggest she could maybe also teach something like Ancient Runes? Makes sense to combine that with the position of Librarian (To me).

I'll look through the list of subjects again (because I could use a refresher, lol) and see if any feel like good fits for Viola (Zooey Deschanel).

Also, sorry... Could we drop Aubrey Plaza and instead reserve Camila Mendes for me? I'd also love it if she could be a Slytherin Prefect or Head Girl.

Okay, I'll reserve Head Girl for Slytherin. My thought is that she was Prefect previously and got 'promoted' to Head Girl.

And I think that Arithmancy might make a little more sense for my Librarian. If anyone else wants that position as a Professor, though, I'd rather they take it. ^^

Interest check passed successfully, just needed to wait until I had things set up really. The first post of this thread has been updated with the CS format, a sample CS and a link to the setting information.

A lot of it gives some idea of what has changed in the 24 years since the end of book 7. I'll be adding more in over time, naturally.

It also goes some way to explaining how the school system now works to account for the university as well as info on wands. Not all info is purely canon as some were named but given no real traits that make them worth using and I wanted to give people a variety of options. That being said please be reasonable about rarer wands and don't have all your characters using wands that have unusual cores.

There is a Discord for this game and I will send invites if/when you have at least one approved character.

There are some other threads but please don't participate in those without any approved characters.

It is no longer open it was privately reserved by another writer. Not all reservations are made in public. If a position is listed as reserved it's not open.

I appreciate that you changed your mind but in this case the position isn't open as someone else decided to take it after you did.

I will say I do intend on having a few events available just to get people interacting. As we are beginning the school year and as it's a Quidditch World Cup year I will have a thread for the Quidditch World Cup where people can have attended in the August before the school year started. I'll also have a thread for the train journey up to Hogwarts and, finally, the sorting ceremony for the year where any first years will be put into their house.

I'm somehow still bitter about not getting to see that Quidditch World Cup Final. I'm going to do some testing on a way to dice bot quidditch results that feels fair but exciting so that the characters who attend really won't know what will happen.

My advice would be for each team you role a D20 three times with each role going up against the other teams roll. Highest number wins
Roll 1 would be number of points scored vs saved so if Griffindor roles a 15 for goals but slytherin rolled a 5 for saves then Griffindor scores 100 points, you do the same in reverse for roll 2 and then roll three just determines which side catches the snitch. You could then add a fourth roll with a D8 to determine injuries or something

I've already put together a trial system. Just lets each team roll 1d10 per round. It'll let the game play out round-by-round with fans cheering/players writing their participation, rather than determining it all in one go. I think it works alright - I'm testing it out a bit at the moment.

In a twist of fate replicating lore I tried out a world cup Ro16 match Bulgaria vs. Nigeria and the team that's supposed to have the best Seeker in the world (Though might have retired after 20 years but maybe older Krum can still do his thing) caught the snitch very early, which amused me.

Just a general question before I make my character properly. I'm planning on having him fully graduated from the lesser school that replaced Hogwarts in its usual education range. Seeing how usually that would mean he's learned most of what he needs, would he be primarily in a state of independent studies to learn his specific trade of choice or will classes still be nessesary?
